Ok, this is pissin me off. This is based on a book in the 60's about futuristic political satire, and no there isnt any TANKS!!!! only epic maruader suits and such, and its not supposed to be realistic or anything, just kick ass, they have 3 movies out now, (see the first and the third, skip the 2nd) these cartoons are actualy closer than the book than the movies, in alot of ways, so if you didnt read the book or see movies, this would be impossible to figure out

Still, I've seen all the movies haven't read the books, When I'm watching the movie I find myself asking "Why don't these people have tanks?" Don't you think a lot more people would survive if they had tanks? I mean an entire tank platoon would wipe out A LOT of those bugs with no problem... it's like the mechanics in the story were all "GAH let's not make it too easy for the starship troopers! no tanks for you!"

Read the book - it's more technical than story-based, but it actually makes for a great read for all sci-fi lovers.

The book explains how the armour the MI wear serves a more broader and more 'Mobile' tactical weapon than any tank or previous military weapon

Because the armour the Mi wear allows for a broader range of movement and allow them to go places that no tank could ever reach.

To fight a war, you have to think like a strategist, planning each step/mission and finding what equipment is best to use with the least amount of time and firepower spent. That, and you also have to take into account cost expenses for equipment and manpower
