You and your wife have great courage being teachers in a time when education is the first thing politicians want to cut. That is one nice Tarantulas you were able to get.
I feel your pain, I have been out of work for a bit now due to cuts in our community services sector. I'm not sure how it operates there but here organisations apply for government funding to run for 1-2 years often and deliver a service based on results and stats, for a variety of often bs reasons so much as has been cut and due to that short term contract nature its really really hard to get work, especially being male which sadly has become a challenging factor here. I am considering..
@damnyouhussies going into teaching and doing a masters in education, our education system seems solid and education jobs tend to be very long contracts and well paid.
Hopefully the funding situation over there sorts itself out and your future gets a bit more solid and sorted out, always helps with everything else.

Our Governor aint helping the state workers here either man I feel your pain well my mom does anyway. No subs here at my High School and Kristi (I believe) Complains about money problems yet he uses not only a helicopter to fly to his sons baseball game but he has a man drive him 100 feet to sit on the bleachers :/
