I love the way they are having fun on stage, in a kind of way I didn't see for a long time with Tarja (last time I saw that was 2002 of maybe 2003) I love the way her voice sounds with Marco's voice, and I do truly love her sound. I really liked Tarja, but Anette makes them complete.

I suppose that would depend on your taste in metal bands. If you like "death metal" than I guess Nightwish wouldn't be your choice. But then, Nightwish is considered "symphonic metal", whatever that means. I like them the same way I like Pink Floyd. That's just my taste in music, I guess.

I'm not a fan of death metal. I love Heavy metal. But that's not the point. The point is that Nightwish were awesome when Tarja was the vocals. After Annette came she turned the band into a pop-rock band that could play in the same show with Britney Spears. I mean c'mon! Compare Nightwish in 1999 with Nightwish in 2008 :|

I like this more than opera-vocals because I think to much opera makes all the songs sound the same, but I agree that all have their opinion. So folks If you like opera-metal, choose Tarja/nightwish. If you like "normal song"-metal, choose Anette/nightwish. The only thing that matters is that Nightwish choosed Anette and they wanted her in their band.

Your reply would be spot on if you didn't use the word "Opera". Tarja herself said that she is not an Opera singer, but instead is a classically trained lyrical soprano. HUGE difference. What you said is as bizarre as if you had said that Tuomas can sing better than Pavarotti. The problem with the new Nightwish, there's nothing unique. They sound like every other pop-rock band out there. No more metal. Lacuna Coil would blow them off the stage. It's not Anette's fault the guys can't rock.

if nightwish was ever a pop-rock band it's not now. The boys still play the same things they used to. People evolve, they change and remake themselves over a billion times. Maybe they decided to take the music into another direction. I think Anette's voice is more powerful than Cristina's (Lacuna Coil)

They are who the fans identify with, and give those bands their unique character.

Any of the above bands would be hard pressed to replace their female vocalist.

Nightwish would recover, but would still not sound the same. Marco adds his vocals, Jukka is really a VERY good drummer, and Emppu, besides being a co-founder of the band, is a VERY good guitarist.

The TRUE core of Nightwish was Tuomas and Tarja, and the loss of EITHER of them spells an end to what used to be Nightwish.

Yeah....i waited 8 hours to ensure i was very first one in:) But i wanted the stage baby....haha was sooooo good. Shook hands with annette, marco, thoumas after wish i had an angel. N during one song, empuu lent down and placed his guitar in front of me and i strumed it like mad, haha. And thoumas gave me his white towel. Definitly worth looking like a bum, sitting n waiting for 8 hours while people walk past you thinking wtf.
