i remember watching a "making of" special on speed about this... they were practicing a jump using cardboard boxes to soften the landing and the still messed up the car really bad. i was hoping it was just a normal mustang but when they had the car apart for repairs it was clear from the engine it was a gt500. what a waste. sigh.

@amptor for the price you're still better off getting a shelby...handling and power....anyone can buy a gt and soup it up by throwing a couple grand but wont compete with a shelby untill their parts list is at least a page long. i dont mind the ol timers buying shelbys....shelbys in their day was the baddest american street cars you could get. still is. its the guys buying v6 stangs and dumping money in i dont get...money saved buying a v6 is eaten up making the power a gt has. engine alone

@amptor the weight added in a shelby isnt much....its a cast iron block but if you can afford to own and drive a shelby you can afford to buy a bare 5.4l aluminum block from a ford gt. dont see shelby owners complaining. just the fools who cant afford them

@amptor btw a gt is far from being a shelby....same platfor thats about it...guess what same platform as a v6...but there is a world of difference between the parts they put in the cars...for example a v6 uses a 7.5inch diff while a gt and gt500 use the 8.8 BUT the gt500 recieves carbon fiber clutch packs for the limited slip. v6 suspensions/brakes are different then a gt. and gt is different then a shelby. interiors.. thats another story id run out of room

To all the Shelby fans I watched the bonus footage on the dvd and the stunt guy landed the front end so hard that he smashed the intercooler and the radiator. Left a divet in the asphalt. If you have a chance to watch it, it's great. You here the one guy say, "it's alright we have another car around the corner". They must have bought a bunch of those red Shelby's.

yea guys. i was on set with the shot, and in the script this was supposed to be how the movie started. with a crash through the window and then on to trying to find the infected deer thingy. it woulda been the very beginning.

pshh that was definitely NOT from the cancer thing jumping on the car in the flashback because they were driving a completely different car! it was likely he got that ford shelby AFTER the infection spread cuz he could get any car he wanted. and they always delete scenes that woulda been awesome to keep in but its usually to keep the flow of the movie going as opposed to just putting things in there because THEY think they would be good. Sometimes you gotta sacrifice good stuff for a movie =(
