I seen Black Sabbath, Motorhead in Kalamazoo mi...yrs ago with Morbid Angel opening..and I swear Motorhead was the loudest band in the world...my teeth were literally loose at the end of the show. Great concert though...
Rosaline! i remember they played this song as well in Glasgow in Nov 08, cause Brian Robertson, one of Thin Lizzy's many guitarists, comes from Glasgow. i was very positively surprised by this cover :) it was one awesome gig as well!
(but i do wish that the their sound engineer would turn down the volume, it was so loud i had to use earplugs to be able to distinguish the songs. the sound in this video is what i heard during the gig without the plugs...)
it would be hard to get good sound quality from a video camera like that or video phone at a motorhead show. it is so fucking loud there. they bring like 1000 amps on stage with them. haha you gotta see 'em live. louder the better. my ears rang for 2 and a half days
Metallica fails at covers. I heard a Curse of the Pharoahs (Mercyful Fate) cover somewhere on youtube, and Lars did horrible for the first minute of the song, god dam popular metal bands!
I don't know what you've heard but I can think of 50 better Lizzy/Lynott covers than Metallica butchering 'Whiskey In The Jar', like Damon Johnson - Borderline John Norum - Wild One, Opium Trail Phantom Blue - Bad Reputation Mastodon - Emerald Concrete Blonde - It's Only Money The Corrs - Old Town Tribe of Gypsies - Parisienne Walkways Randy Bachman -Boys Are Back... Life After Death - Don't Believe A Word Mordred - Johnny The Fox Jorn Lande - Are You Ready Heathen - Holy War Dogface - Suicide

Lemmy definitely stole Nigel Tufnel's speakers. Motorhead definitely plays at 11. But you know what? They are just too freaking loud and no, I am not too freaking old. Facts are facts. What's the point of being so stupid loud? I've seen through the years in Cleveland including opening for Ozzy with Randy Rhoads in 1981 at the 3000 seat Music Hall. I sat front row in the upper balcony and I could not talk to my friend next to me because of Lemmy's Spinal Tap mentality. Just rock, Lemmy.
When i went and saw Airbourne recently, they were so ridiculously loud alot of people said they felt physically sick due to the level of noise, I'm not an old fart, i'm a 19 year old.
Being this loud spoils the music it's because it's almost impossible to get good levels across the board, more often than not the bass drum becomes louder than someone blowing themselves up in the next room with their own weight in C4...
it's pretty disrespectful to talk during a musical performance--in any genre--and it irritates me when people do. you're there for the music so shut up and listen to it!
rock is Nothing without phil, sure theres soe good bands still going and after them... but stil, thye just had it all, every member had supreme talent !!
also cant belive motorhead can do such a good version of rosalie !!
you cant beat a motorhead gig, the atmosphere is like nothing else, plus lemmy is fucking awesome to get drunk with, pub lockins ftw! LIZZY and MOTORHEAD for ever and ever!
I saw Motorhead with Black Sabbath and Morbid Angel in Michigan a few years back and they were by far the loudest band I had ever heard in my life. I was front row and I had to actually back away because I felt like my head was going to explode...Now thats rock and roll.
Motorhead is one of the loudest bands in the world to see. ONe of the few shows I actually had to move away from the band, cause it felt like my face was being peeled away...Awesome.
