Gosh, I used to hate Country Music. I was a total Hard Rock fan. But now I love it ! I like older stuff, but just a few of the more modern acts. Most of what I like isn't mainstream or on the charts though. Most people I know who dont like country music usually only like top 40 and tend to have more conventional tastes.

No, you're obviously NOT a music lover. I love music of all genres ,and country has some phenonmenal artists and songs. You just think the mainstream country is representative of real country music. Country music is song driven and has some extremely talented musicians. I collect records and I have a vinyl collection of over 300 records including many country records as well.

Country music songs tell a story. They are very melodic and lyric driven. And its not all twangy. Thats just one kind of music . Rap music on the other hand is awful. You can't spell crap without rap.

Actually I used to think country music was twangy, but a lot of it isnt. The only "twangy" country is the fake stuff like Tim McGraw and all that. But that isn't real country. A lot of the older stuff is actually very soothing and some times borders on easy listening.
