I've had both an iPod Touch and a Zune HD. My iPod's headphone jack broke 3 times, each time costing 50 bucks to fix. The last time my iPod broke, I just decided to buy a Zune HD. I wish I would've switched sooner. I haven't had a single problem with my Zune. The only purpose my iPod serves me now is an alarm clock. Seriously, if you actually want to listen to music, buy a 32 GB Zune HD. It costs a little bit less than the latest 8 GB iPod.
1. The sound quality on iPod's speakers are a joke... Why would you want to listen to built-in speakers?
2. It has HD Radio and can surf the web (though it's not a great browser, it can still do it).
3. The iPod Touch couldn't multi-task until 4 generations in.
4. You have to pay for music on iTunes also... Were you expecting free music? If you're referring to the Zune Pass, it's optional. However, it's a great deal.

I personally have a 64gb iphone 4s with 1343 songs, 8 HD 1080p videos(recorded on my 4s), 367 HD photos, and 52 apps. I still have 35.4gb of storage left. I had the one of the early EARLY zunes and wasn't too impressed. Sure you can watch movies/videos on it, but the ipod 4th gen, and iphone 4&4s both have retina displays which make movies enjoyable.

Just bought a 16GB Zune HD from Best Buy.com as well as Zune Music Pass, and it's some of the best money I ever spent. Unlimited music downloads for $10 a month? I already downloaded some 400 songs. For avid music listeners who do not want to do anything illegal, Zune is the way to go.

Well, obviously zune pass is wayyyyyyyy better than itunes. It really depends what you need or want in a music player. If you just want it for music, I definitely suggest getting a zune. If you want it for shitty apps that you will never use or play and need a wifi connection for half of them, get the ipod. If you want it for everything, just get the apps for your phone. That way you can use them anywhere.
I just want alot alot of music and lots of it.. hard to find stuff = no problem. Also wireless sync. I LOVE my Zune(s) and the Octavio speaker system (Yeah, docking station my butt, it rocks!) for tailgating. Folks always ask WHERE I found that song.. on ZUNE! I personally don't like apple products due to its horrible software, but I don't see the point in getting a Zune HD. It has been discontinued for a while now. Microsoft says there will still be support for it, but i doubt that is going to last. If anything all us Zune lovers are going to have to upgrade to a Windows 7 phone in order to get the latest from Microsoft. I am considering getting an iTouch though, since it is a device that is here to stay and be updated.not happy about it though =\.

Seeing all of your comments, the irony is if there's no iPod in the first place, there would be no Zune HD. Portable music players would suck if Apple didn't make the first iPod in 2001. I give Apple credit for that. Zune HD is just following iPod touch's steps with more user-friendly features. And IMO, jailbroken iPod touch can do far more things than Zune HD.

Not all MP3 player have to be the same. Everything do NOT need apps on them. Because not everyone like or want apps. We have apps on computers, phones, MP3 players. We dont need them on everything. It is easy to control the volume without looking at the Zune HD. Just touch the volume button and then slide your finger over the screen....you can hear the volume increase. It is very natural.

I had a Sansa before this and you used the circle thing to change the volume and when I got my Zune I thought it was weird and awkward, especially when it was in my pocket, but after you get used to it it's actually very convenient. Almost all the things different on a Zune will actually be better once you get used to them.
well with ipods, you can just adjust the volume or skip, pause, or go the the previous song with clicking the headphone or just adjust the volume on the side... it is very natural

I've had both an iPod Touch and a Zune HD. My iPod's headphone jack broke 3 times, each time costing 50 bucks to fix. The last time my iPod broke, I just decided to buy a Zune HD. I wish I would've switched sooner. I haven't had a single problem with my Zune. The only purpose my iPod serves me now is an alarm clock. Seriously, if you actually want to listen to music, buy a 32 GB Zune HD. It costs a little bit less than the latest 8 GB iPod.

I personally have a 64gb iphone 4s with 1343 songs, 8 HD 1080p videos(recorded on my 4s), 367 HD photos, and 52 apps. I still have 35.4gb of storage left. I had the one of the early EARLY zunes and wasn't too impressed. Sure you can watch movies/videos on it, but the ipod 4th gen, and iphone 4&4s both have retina displays which make movies enjoyable.

Well, obviously zune pass is wayyyyyyyy better than itunes. It really depends what you need or want in a music player. If you just want it for music, I definitely suggest getting a zune. If you want it for shitty apps that you will never use or play and need a wifi connection for half of them, get the ipod. If you want it for everything, just get the apps for your phone. That way you can use them anywhere.

I personally don't like apple products due to its horrible software, but I don't see the point in getting a Zune HD. It has been discontinued for a while now. Microsoft says there will still be support for it, but i doubt that is going to last. If anything all us Zune lovers are going to have to upgrade to a Windows 7 phone in order to get the latest from Microsoft. I am considering getting an iTouch though, since it is a device that is here to stay and be updated.not happy about it though =\.

If you want something to play video games, get a PSP or the new Playstation Vita.
If you want something that is worse at both of these and want to fit in with you hip friends, get an Itouch.

the display on the itouch is great, but the blacks actually look like blacks on the zune. its a fact that the zune's OLED screen is better.
apps? the zune is a freakin' MUSIC player. not an APP player. the ipod just goes out of its way for money. the zune never forgets that it's a music player.

Seeing all of your comments, the irony is if there's no iPod in the first place, there would be no Zune HD. Portable music players would suck if Apple didn't make the first iPod in 2001. I give Apple credit for that. Zune HD is just following iPod touch's steps with more user-friendly features. And IMO, jailbroken iPod touch can do far more things than Zune HD.

Not all MP3 player have to be the same. Everything do NOT need apps on them. Because not everyone like or want apps. We have apps on computers, phones, MP3 players. We dont need them on everything. Apps are really starting to get old. Half of the apps people have on their Ipods or phones are not even being used. Which means they spent more time and money on a bunch of crap they did NOT need. It is easy to control the volume without looking at the Zune HD. Just touch the volume button and then slide your finger over the screen....you can hear the volume increase. It is very natural.

I had a Sansa before this and you used the circle thing to change the volume and when I got my Zune I thought it was weird and awkward, especially when it was in my pocket, but after you get used to it it's actually very convenient. funny how people complain about the zune just being a music player. last time i checked i bought my zune to listen to music not sit around using apps all day. i mean thats what its meant to be used for isnt it otherwise why not just buy a portable game system that you can put music on.

Who the fuck buys a music player just for good apps? if i wanted apps i would get the i-phone. but for a MUSIC player like the i-pod touch, i would get for MUSIC and VIDEO playback. not for apps. and thats where my Zune HD comes in. You can tell that it was created for MUSIC and VIDEO playback. and it works PERFECTLY. it has better sound quality and the Oled screen kicks the i-pod's ass in any category! so if your not retarded and only want apps, do the SMART thing and get the Zune HD.

you forgot to test how strong each is you sould of thrown both to the wall and see witch one would still be in one peice my guess woudl be the zune considering that ive had it for a year now and there isnt a scratch on it and i dont use a screen protector or case

the reason Ipod touches cost so much: Apps, your paying extra money to spend extra money. apps are expensive and usless, so what you can't change volume from outside. i have a 1st generation ipod touch. 4 years old i can't do it on that. i need a new player cause my buttons on my ipod are sometimes unresponsive. and i hate apple cause there corrupt money hordes. when you buy an i pod your paying for the "name" and the 'option' to buy apps.

Another thing better about the zune is when its how ever many gigs u get that amount and like the ipod it takes a few gigs away for the settings and stuff and the zune hd does not

People keep telling me that if the zune is so good why did the discontinue it... Screw you people, the zune was discontinued due to it's almost "underground" stature. 99% of people will tell you that they bought an ipod for the APPS. when 100% of zune will tell you they bought it for the reason an mp3 was created, to listen to music. Zune wins HANDS DOWN

@YourAverageSexyKids dude you are so right the only reason i got a zune was because of music. my brother and i wanted to test out how good the sound quality was on both s we took the same headphone (neither zune or apple) and put the volume up and played the same song the zune hd had NO static at all while the iPod sounded like crap it actually made my ears hurt so yes Zune wins

It's nice to see music being listened to by products that aren't apple. Although I am a hypocrite when I say this, since I listen to music on an itouch. But I mean I also listen to music on my phone, and I'm glad to see that not the whole world is gone apple.
