@remedy1900 Thanks for the comment! Don't feel bad for Jerry. He loved life on three legs for two years before cancer took him from us. His LEGacy lives on at his Tripawds Blogs community.
When youtube changed everything around I noticed that all of my videos I had saved were removed from my playlists. This really saddens me because I now have to go back and find all the "Jerry" videos I thought were safe under my username. Go TRIPAWDS (dot com).
@luvyourpets08 Well that's a bummer! But hey you get to see Jerry again! This is my very favorite video of him. I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was just him and I at the lake while Jim was working at the ranch. What a special time we had together.
Many thanks. Inherent happiness indeed. Charlie would not like to see you sad, I'm sure. Consider checking out the Coping With Loss discussion forum on the TRIPAWDS website. Peace.
Best Dog Ever. Except mine! Just what I needed after my dog, a collie, who loved swimming in our local pond, died recently. Love the resiliency and determination of dogs. Great tune also.
Cheers muchly for this vid uploader. Been crying my eyes out since Charlie was put down 4 days ago, don't regret the decision though, he was suffering towards the end. Def' my best mate. This videeo reminded me why I loved Charlie, it's the inherent happiness, glee almost in the face of whatever life throws at them that I love. R.I.P Charlie. Thanks again uploader.
lol nice GSD i just got one about a month ago (they're honestly the only dogs I'll buy) I would seriously think your dog would look alot worse, but honestly other then the fact he/she's missing a leg it looks like a normal, healthy dog. Good job man and nice video.
Omg Best wishes to your doG!!!!! MY dog is in the hospital right now, cause yesterday a guy hit him in the hind left leg with his truck or something. He was at work with my dad and he hit my dog and drove off and we couldnt see him. We chose to amputate because we didnt wanna gamble on our dog and maybe try to fix the bone without a gaurantee :( tomorrow im gonna see my dog and I was just wondering, Do they feel sad or anything? And was it hard for you when he lost his leg?
Sorry to hear about your pup, but you've done the right thing. He will not be sad or feel shame, only be glad to be free of pain. Too many times, people put their dogs through multiple surgeries trying to save the leg. Truth is, they are born with three legs and a spare! Drop by Jerry's TRIPAWDS website (dot com) and discussion forums for more support and advice.
I just got him back today and he seems happy, but he feels kinda dull. When i say Simba he usually looks at me and try to walk to me sometimes. Now hes just stuck looking in one direction and wont eat or anything
Sounds normal ... side effects of the medication. Give him time and please drop by the TRIPAWDS (dot com) website and discussion forums for plenty of advice and support.
I have to say thanks for putting this video out there for us to see. We had to make a very tough choice about our dog Raven and your video helped. raven is still with us and swims without a problem with his three legs.
Thanks for the comment, we're glad the video helped with your difficult decisions. You will find much more advice, support, and tips in the discussion forums on Jerry's TRIPAWDS website. Please consider dropping by to share Raven's story with everyone.
Sadly we caught my dog's bone cancer when it was too late - no point in amputation as it had already spread to her lungs, and she was much too old anyway. RIP Cocoa :( I'm so glad you got the extra couple years with your pup :) He looked so happy.
Thanks for the comment LynnDot, we are sorry to hear about Cocoa. Please feel free to share her story in the TRIPAWDS website discussion forums, where you'll find lots of support from others who have gone through the same thing. Peace.
YAY YAY!! You go Jerry!!! What a wonderful video!! just beautiful!!!!!! My rottie Ulla girl had osteosarcoma too but in her ribs... a very rare spot... She lived a beautiful and full life!! We fought bone cancer so hard and she never knew she had it!! I can see Jerry is the same!!! Cherish every day!!
Sorry to hear about nugzie, but he'll do fine on three legs I'm sure. Drop by the Jerry's TRIPAWDS website and share your story in the discussion forms!
I hope they were tears of joy ... Dogs adapt amazingly well to life on three legs. You'll find plenty of advice and care tips in Jerry's discussion forums on his TRIPAWDS website.
My German Shepherd lived to be 13 years old before she past. I regret not spending as much time with her as I could of so this video definitely brings a tear out. My 17 month old lab goes everywhere with me.
Kenidoo, no that's not rude at all. This has been a topic of much discussion on my website for three legged dogs, TRIPAWDS. Please visit us there, especially our discussion forums for many resources and information about bone cancer. We send our best wishes for a healthy report, but if you do need us, we're here at our website, TRIPAWDS. Good luck.
We will ALWAYS love Jerry and hold him dear in our hearts, even though we had to release him from his broken body back in October. Thanks for the sweet comment!
We've had Jerry since puppyhood, but he only became three-legged in 2006. Visit Jerry's TRIPAWDS website and check out the forums. Search for "puppy" there and you'll find discussion about tripawd puppies. That young, it's usually NOT cancer, so I say go for it! Dogs are born with three legs and a spare.
My rikki tripod wouldn't swim she was too scared... kept going in circles and flipping to the side. We saw the whites of her eyes and I never did it again..!! my poor baby.. maybe it was too soon after losing her leg..
Plus I have no idea if she was ever in watewwr before.. since I rescued her and we got her injured!!
Rikki LOVES pulls tree limbs and sticks AND digging them up!!! lol
I hope your dog is gonna be okay! My dog, Lucy, has three legs too. She got hit by a car. There's a video of her swimming. I feel bad for your dog!
