fortunately... his position has evolved and hardened. If I was him i would have refused this interview. It was before anyone knew any details and he didn't have any answers.
This guy is a weasel!! Where is the NDP? They're the only REAL choice to avoid losing our energy security and autonomy. THIS IS A BAD DEAL AND NEEDS TO BE REVERSED!!!!!!
His real answer; "Well, the strings that are pulling Graham, I'm also attached to, and as opposition, I have to maintain an imagine that I'm some how against this deal. So, I can't come flat out against it because our master's are one in the same."
The only reason why he`s not saying no is because he knows the government which he opposes came up with a great idea which will benefit NB and Québec. You erase your debt, let go of massive future infrastructure costs, plus eliminate economics threats from future cap and trade agreements.
How STUPID can this wingnut be??? His ass should be dragged out of the legislature right beside Shawn Graham!!! Unbelieveable!!! Even my dog would know enough to jump at this chance and say no!!
It kind of becomes obvious that the PCs intentions are to sell NB Power as well if elected. He couldn't even bring himself to commit to a referendum on the deal....only say that there should be dialogue and debate on the sale. Dialogue and debate does no good if the powers that be do not listen!
Answer the gesus question - If you are a leader, then you have an opinion, never mind this dialogue, debate shit - what is your party's stance?? Nimrod!! Spineless opportunist. Imagine people voting for you??Just imagine! Any bus driver, hammer swinger, McDonald' sworker , street sweeper could answwer that question - and believe me...he has the facts..he's just "not Prepared" to answer because he is not a leader!
Je me souviens ... in this place!!! Good by NB!! NS??PEI?? But not Newfoundland and Labrador! He says he will let the power flow into the sea before he muckles under to HQ. Believe it!!!
David "shawn graham" Alward. What a freaking weasel. We are in deep crap here folks. We have nobody to lead this province. Time to leave maybe. I remember a time when Bernard Lord was concentrating alot of effort into bringing people home from Alberta. I guess now, maybe they have a side deal with Alberta to provide workers...
Wow. We are in deep crap with the bunch we have steering the ship and the lot that want to replace them. Someone slap them. My definition of self sufficiency means producing what you use and selling the surplus, what does it mean in Rexton? Even Quebec uses anything it can as leverage to get what is best for Quebec. Maybe we should just cut to the chase, join Quebec and let them run the whole show. Obviously no one here is qualified.
Although David is now calling for an election, viewing this video has convinced me his concern isn't genuine. There will be tough says ahead and I just wish we had some other political party to turn to.
According to Shawn Graham, it doesn't matter what Alward or any other New Brunswicker says. Shawn Graham said clearly on CBC that everyones opinion matters, BUT that none dissenting opinion will change his mind.
No wonder Alward has so little support.... the guy is afraid of stating an opinion.
All I know is that, for the first, and only time, on the radio I actually heard a politician make a clear and definitive statement. The day after the story broke, Graham was interviewed by Paul Castle on CBC radio. When askeds if there was any argument that could be made to change his mind, he said "NO".
As far as I am concerned, forcing this deal on NB'ers is screwing us. Forcing it on us without listening to dissenting opinions is raping us.
This is painful to watch. He has no clue what he's talking about.
