I don't recall a hearing a fretless guitar in Red. Fripp probably had many effects that could have sounded like a fretless guitar.

Yeah King Crimson had some of the best Drum/Bass/Guitar work I have ever heard. I like how they created such diverse music as a group ranging from Classical to Jam to Prog to Heavy Metal. To bad their not as active anymore, I'd go see them one more time!

Speaking of Frank, you can hear Mike Keneally's execution of this on his website. Your chords seem to be voiced the same as Mike does it...food-for-thought: Wetton's Bass contributes substantially to the studio version.
