  • I would never buy a car from a dealership that charges over sticker for any car on their lot...no matter what the demand. The dealership that sold me my 2012 Shelby Mustang sold their Boss Mustangs for sticker...not over. I've even seen dealerships recently trying to get 5k over on Shelbys...taking advantage of people that aren't in the know...creating scarcity that isn't there.

  • @billwhismanus Hey, Bill! I don't blame you...I would not pay either! What really steams me is the dealer add on sticker that some use to increase the price for "fabric protectant, glass etching, 'market adjustment' " etc. That's one of the reasons I never bought a foreign car back in the 70's..they seemed to do that a lot! Perhaps, some day, buying a car will be like buying a refrigerator. Internet sales seem to point in that direction! Thanks! :) Jack

  • @billwhismanus My brother was in the market for one, and he found 2 choices. A white Boss near his home (which he now owns) or a yellow Boss near me, and they charged 5-7k more for the yellow one...sad. So my brother got his for only 1500 over I think...The car only cost him about 28k because he traded in his 430hp F150 :P

  • I think the boss would be higher price myself.....over the Shelby.....over 5000 above sticker price.......but I would choose the 750 hp shelby......

  • @rush2112mn My preference would be the Shelby...if for no other reason than the leather seating and the bigger displacement engine. Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 I also like the creature comforts of the Shelby. Touch screen Nav, Glass roof, and Leather seats with the stripes in them just make the interior pop! But I hear the Boss is just an awesome driver's car. And it gets better fuel mileage. Its a toss up for me. I want to see what the new green color on the 2013 looks like in person.

  • @427mike427 Hey, Mike! Thanks for pointing out those great design elements on the Shelby! Maybe it's just me, but I sure would be attracted to a car that gets along with regular gas...premium is so much more expensive. Thanks! :) Jack

  • @427mike427 I just bought a new 2012 Shelby. Saw an opportunity to get one well below MSRP since the 2013 is coming out. What a beast this thing is! I don't care if the 2013 has 100 more hp. I don't know what Im going to do with 550.

  • @427mike427 Hey, Mike! I think you made a wise decision! I think the horsepower race is getting out of hand...who cares if the top speed isn't 200? Where, except the Salt Flats of Utah, could you legally do that? Congratulations! Enjoy the car, and enjoy the savings! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 Thank You Jack!

  • @427mike427 Hey, Mike! My pleasure to comment! :) Jack

  • @rush2112mn I would choose the BOSS. I doubt the shelby will be able to get those 750hp on the road. The boss might even be faster

  • Question: IF I want to 'make' a gymkhana car, should I buy a Shelby GT500 (2011/2012) or a Boss 302 Mustang (2012)? What car would be the best to upgrade and tune?

  • @BenGrv1995 Hey, Ben! I'm no technical expert, but my opinion would be the Boss 302.

Handling should be very good. I hope some of my viewers can give their opinions on this..

    Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 Thanks for answering my question!

They both look like great cars!

It is just one of my dreams to make/create a gymkhana car.

This are the cars I would use:

    Porsche 911 GT2 RS (2011/2012) / Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0

    Boss 302 Mustang (2012) / Shelby GT500 (2011/2012)

Remember, it's only a dream, because I'm only 16 at the moment. Still, I would love to hear your opinion about what car I should choose (one of that four cars).

    Thanks!

  • $5000 over sticker is price gouging! You like that dealer because he is upfront about ripping you off? If people didn't have such a gotta have it now attitude, greedy dealers like this one wouldn't attempt to rip off their customers.

  • @427mike427 Hey, Mike! Dealers certainly vary in their pricing techniques...this one is up front about pricing. I'm not in the market for this car, for sure, and I wouldn't classify him as a greedy dealer. Do you know of any dealers out there selling this car at list? As always, a person is free to shop around looking for the best price. Thanks!

    :) Jack

  • @raconter1 Yes I do. Look on Ebay! There are some dealers on there listing their Boss 302s at MSRP. One is in Texas. I would rather buy from him and pay extra to ship it to me than give a local dealer an extra 5 grand of my hard earned money. It is gouging no matter how i look at it.

  • @427mike427 Hey, Mike! I certainly wasn't in the market for this one, but my guess is that if I made an offer substantially less than this added on price, they would take in under consideration. Not making excuses, but it's like anything else..you can bargain at any time, and choose based on the lowest price out the door. This dealer doesn't have dealer fees, by the way. Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 I hear you Jack! Forgive me if I came off like an angry ass. I just get pissed when dealers think they have something so special that they think they can make people pay even more than the advertised price. I realize the law of supply and demand. I just get sick of the gotta have it now attitude that people have now days. If people could just wait it out then no one would get gouged. I really like this car but I can wait till the hype dies off. I may just buy a used Shelby.

  • i thought they were going to race but i guess this good too

  • @GhostFaceKilllah Hey, Eric! LOL! I can see in retrospect how the title could give you this impression! I guess you could consider it a race, in the metaphorical sense, for sales leadership! Not very exciting! :D Thanks! :D Jack

  • @raconter1 you kinda creeped me out when you said my name but then i remembered that i put it on my channeland not to be a dick or anything but do you do drugs? dont take it as a bad way cus i do ganja

  • @GhostFaceKilllah Hey, Eric...I think it's more personal when you address people by their name, if you know it...there is far too much impersonal today in our society. No, I don't do drugs, by the way. :) Jack

  • @raconter1 lol ok thanks

  • Camaros are so ugly compared to the new stangs.

  • @flattoprulez I do like the Mustangs, but I also like the Camaros too...each has their own fan club. Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 lol they're okay I just think the appearence is way over done.

  • @flattoprulez What do you think of the Challenger? :) Jack

  • @raconter1 If it wasn't so heavy or wasted so much gas, I'd probably have one :) maaaaybe.

  • @flattoprulez Yeah, that seems to be the usual criticism of the car..understandable since it was derived from a Mercedes platform cut down a bit. Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 if the challenger was like 2-300 pounds lighter it wouldve been even better but the challenger deff has the looks i think. The new 6.4 is a good engine tho.... so we will see

  • @xtreme3484 There's no question that that would aid the car, along with an 8 speed automatic for those who prefer that. Having sat in one, I'd also wish for more window area to judge traffic around me. Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 Yeah i understand that for sure, My father owns one But i think the int is better then then the camaro i dont like the camaro interior at all...

  • @xtreme3484 That's how I feel about the Camaro interior...needs a lot of improvement in my book...but perhaps they're working on that. I also notice the decklid is very narrow..not practical for loading. Thanks! :) Jack

  • 5.0 nd 302 are the same bro lol

  • @DiGBicK25 True...the old 5.0 302 in my 88 isn't the same engine as the new 5.0 302 in the new V8 Mustangs 2011 and newer. Thanks! :) Jack

  • I'm a little bias (being that I own a 2012 BOSS LS) I prefer the BOSS to the Shelby the linear torque on the 302 is unbelievable. That being said, I would own a Shelby in a heartbeat. It will be interesting to see the 2013 GT500 with 650 HP will be like. I would love to own one of those too.

  • @MrGT5oh I can understand your bias! Congratulations on your Laguna Seca! Yes, it will be interesting to see the 2013..it seems that introduction dates are being moved up at will! I remember when October and November were absolutely reserved for for introductions! Thanks! :) Jack

  • @MrGT5oh lol it would be called the GT650

  • @MrGT5oh i prefer the shelby more

  • @MrGT5oh: ITs gonna pretty much be a boss 302 mustang but with 650 HP and a 200mph top speed. Its gonna have the same suspension as the boss, launch control and adjustable suspension settings, and a upgraded transmission with the abilty the ability to hit 200 mph in 5th gear even though its a 6 speed. Very very similar to the great Ford GT.

  • I must say I have seen both cars on the road and I would have to take the boss. I Talked to a guy in a parking lot that was driving one and the sound and the stance of the car is fantastic. Between the lowered stance and the quad exhaust with the track key and the rework to the motor that was done for the boss the motor revs super quick and will make you drool.( he revved it for me and put in the track key, then proceeded to take off out of the parking lot sideways)

  • @hpkntnw Very interesting! I haven't seen either of these cars in action. Shelby is soon coming out with its 2013 model....I know, unbelievably early, with 650 hp and 600 ft. lbs. of torque! I know I will never have either the Boss or the Shelby, but their development is interesting! Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 why do you say say thanks :) jack

  • @theladat12345 Just to thank those who took time to look at and respond to one of my videos! In my mind, the word "thanks" isn't used enough...even if you say it too much, it's not offensive! Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 i dont care its still creepy

  • @ all Which one of these do you prefer?

  • @JoJoJo151990 Hey, Alex! I'd choose the Shelby...the Boss is probably more collectible, but overall, I'd prefer the Shelby. Thanks! :) Jack

  • i think im in love <3

  • @patriots4life11 Glad I brought these to you! Thanks! :) Jack

  • same here

  • nice cars you got their

  • @MyKevinperez Hey, Kevin! They sure are...unfortunately, they're not mine, but I can always dream! Thanks!

    :) Jack

  • while Mopar is coming back to their roots with bigger Hemi engines, FoMoCo also is coming back with a small block and lighter body, I'm glad today the automotive industry is returning somewhat like in the late 60s and early 70s

  • @irongoxi Hey, Josue! There's certainly a lot of research going on right now...a challenge, for sure, with increasing fuel efficiency standards due here in the next few years...I think the solution will be smaller supercharged or turbocharged engines with lighter cars. The six cylinder may be the performance car of the future. Thanks! :) Jack

  • Man that Boss gives me the shivers.. My local Ford dealer has Boss 302 serial number #0032.. Set price is $10,000 over that of the sticker price! Yikes!

  • @Sarcasticscum Hey, Nathan! I think the pricing on these cars is whatever the market will bear! The local dealer here was pricing the regular Boss $5000 over sticker. The old case of supply and demand...and the free market! Thanks! :) Jack

  • Once they turned the camera off they went back to the ford fiestas

  • @Replay54321 No question that the Fiesta would be the most practical buy! Thanks! :) Jack

  • i want it SOOOOOO BAD!

  • @foreveraford Ford sure has two winners here....if I had the money, I'd have one! Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 they do. i would LOVE to have on the ford here has a 2012 Shelby conv. blacked out for 50k i want it so bad. but i love my 2005 baby!

  • @foreveraford My preference would be the Shelby too...for one thing, they have the bigger engine, and LEATHER Recarro seats..now that's class! Thanks! :) Jack

  • love the he doesnt even take notice of tht camero xD

  • @xRandomJODIEx Oh I saw it...it was like a foreigner on this Ford dealer's lot! Didn't want to put too many cars in the video! Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 mustangs ftw tho

  • As I've mentioned to you before, Jack, Mustang's are my weakness :D ... It'd be very difficult for me to choose between them! If it were the preceding model to these (the same as you're '08 & '09, which happens to be my favourite Mustang since the first generation) then the choice would be very easy, I'd take the Shelby EVERY time :D ... But with these newer models, the choice is harder, I think I'd honestly prefer the BOSS 302, given the choice :)

  • @drewerz01 Hey, Mike! Yeah, with this big boost in power with the 5.0, and the suspension tweeks on the Boss and the Shelby, it is definitely a difficult choice. And if you're thinking of collectiblity, and assume what happened to the original Boss 302 will happen to this one, it might well give the edge to the Boss! Thanks! :) Jack

  • I could tell the linkage was to your liking. :)

  • @cheddyrod Hey, Chester! Yeah, it did "fall right to hand" as they say! Thanks! :D Jack

  • i know what you were doing Jack pretending to be interested in the Mustangs when u really wanted a FIESTA!

  • @gene978 Hey, Gene! How did you know?! LOL! Let's all get Mustangs while we can, before we're reduced to

electric or hybrid cars! :D Thanks! :D Jack

  • Which dealer was this, Don Reid?

  • @vanquishman This was at Mullinax Ford at their Apopka Florida location. Thanks! :) Jack

  • I'll take one of each one in red Boss 302 the other in blue GT 500 nice Mustangs.

  • @mrcaymanislands1 I certainly don't blame you...why settle for one when you can have two? Nice choices!

    Thanks! :) Jack
