  • @jaydnls15 not really sure about that...5k in a civic... = new valves, cams, springs, retainors, rods, decent turbo, piping, intercooler, intake manifold, ecu, clutch...and a lot of gas money...left overs. thats well over 400whp with a b16b(CTR)...which based on power to weight and gearing....i think the civic might take the notchback....

  • @PurePower999 Funny thing is, that is not a Honda engine. It is a completely different engine, a 4.8 liter 4 cylinder. Last time I checked, Honda doesn't make those. It's also a dragster and runs on nitromethane. Just because it was designed after a Honda doesn't mean it is a Honda. No part on the drag car was a Honda part, it was all designed by that guy.

    1. RB26DETT - 2.6 L (2568 cc, bore: 86.0 mm, stroke: 73.7 mm) with dohc and twin turbos, so with that stroke, its hard to top 1500hp.

    2. "With extreme modification, the RB26 motor is capable of power in excess of 1 megawatt (1340hp)

    3. If they wanted 4000hp, they would use the RB30DET. Cuz of the higher stroke.

    4. The unrestricted or non-Japanese versions of the RB26DETT puts out 320HP.

    5. A boosted Civic got from 300hp, to 1000hp.

    6. A i4 sounds alot better than a i6.

Most hondas have regular gearing and rev fast. its just the way the motortranny is built. And, back to my ferrari reference. most ferraris will do 50+ in first gear, and they rev fast. You would think cars with short gears rev faster and thats true in general, but is obviously not all that matters.

Thirdly, everything over here rusts so y would I bring that car when I could bring my 95 civic to rust out and ruin, there's nowhere here to bring my aforementioned trans am let only with 400+ hp

  • @nike2323231 He has CTR cams in it....they will make power in a stock B16A past the normal revlimit (top out or plateau at 8300-8400rpms) He must have a chipped ECU too b/c he can rev higher. As long as he upgraded the valve springs (and maybe the LMA's)...he's okay to rev that high. He would need a CTR cluster to satisfy your "Shifting in the Red is Unsafe" rule

    And the video/audio synch effing sucks so its hard to watch

  • First off if you do cams and you do your hondata ECU upgrade then it does change the rev limit to 9000-95000 depending on cams, he's just utilizing the stock tach. The stock tach goes that high and he knows where his new rev limit is for his cam set up?

I can't imagine how you went from a trans am to a fucking civic. whenever I drive something like my girlfriends old 88 RS camaro, with the 2.8 v6, It suprises me that I have to shift at like 3500 to actually MOVE. I shift my T/A at 1500. Haha.

  • Its a B16 man, those can go to 9200 rpm. The B16A2 head will only allowe for 8200, if you get the Type-R head you can rev to 9200 just fine. Its the same damn bottom end.

  • b16 is rev happy... you really do need to rev the shit out of them to make any power... B16 has no tourqe and suck in the low RPM. Put a spoon block gurdle and that thing with ctr cams or some other n/a cams can rev to 10,000 no problem... 9 grand without breaking a sweat. HONDA LOVE... B series is done... I've stepped up o a K series now... Better in every way... ;)
