    2. A week or 2.

    3. For me, standby crashing ocassionaly, but it's the AMD model too.

  • mine is overheat on the left side, please help? are you got this problem either?

  • @whewmancool Me! But whenever my AC is on, it is not overheating nor can feel any heat from the board or left side of the touch pad. If I use it outside, and the temperature is about 30-32 degrees Celsius, it gets hot on the left portion, near touch pad.

  • Here in Brazil we have DV6-3090BR as equivalent and some units come to market defective. From the 6Gb installed, only 3.74 GB are available, and HP has a service poorly.

  • You have really hairy legs lol

  • Does the webcam have a light next to it so you can see in the dark

  • Should I get this or the Dv6z select edition? the only difference really is that one uses intel and the other AMD. dv6z with AMD is cheaper than the dv6t

  • hello, i have the same computer. and i was wondering is there a specific pen that can be used?... hope to hear from you... thank you

  • why didn't hp make the screen flip over???? i would of bought it in a heartbeat :(

  • how much is this laptop?

  • is this a 15.6" or 17"?

  • @haiti1800 15.6

  • talk too much...

  • Where did you buy yours at? I can only find touchscreen if I customize it on HP.com. So I was wondering if you could get it anywhere else.

  • What is the battery life of this laptop?

  • I like my dm4 more x) Smaller than the dv6 <3 This one is really nice though.

  • Great review!!!

  • hi

    thats really good video

i m from UK and i m planing to buy dv6 3150sa. i want to know does it have touch screen too? if you can reply as soon as possible......thank you :)

  • @999KAPASIA999 No mate doesn't seem like it does

  • @999KAPASIA999 i got 3150sa i m using it right now. Thanks anyway mate :)

  • About to MAYBE buy one of these.

  • Will you please tell me the exact dimensions, height and width, not diagonal, of the monitor. I would appreciate it. Thank you for the review.

  • @thubtenwangmo hi this is for you and for others who ask the same question every time, please read the video description it has links to everything about my laptop, the article i wrote on the laptop has exact dimensions and specs and a maintainence guide as well.

  • @thubtenwangmo don't have a tape measure on hand but its the exact same as ALL dv6 15.6" screens so if u can find it else where on the internet, that will answer your question!

  • It's a cheap copy of the macbook, shame on HP!

  • @MrVicleon the trackpad and the design maybe, but there is alot that this has to offer. A Macbook of the same specifications would cost atleast $1500 more than this, and by that price, I can customize a laptop online that would easily blow it away.

The argument does stand though that HP isn't exactly know for the best of quality, but this product seems be doing much better than normal.

  • @xBiocide Exactly. Your spec'd out HP might take a dump on you after a few months. Of all the bad reviews and talk about computers HP has had the worst rap...that objective, not my opinion. But nearly everything design wise here was cop'd from the macbook but half-assed, like the bottom of the laptop not being aluminum, and those part that are just have a thin sheet over them, not a solid piece. Plus it's thick as hell and feels cheap. The keypad is garbage, trackpad is uncomfortable to use.

  • @MrVicleon Another stupid Apple fanboy. I've had 3 Macs on the past five years. I got tired of Snow Leopard and got this one. This laptop is faster than every Mac I've owned. And I think I'll upgrade to the ENVY 14 this Christmas. HP kills Apple.

  • i wonder if Cod black ops would lag on this

  • How is the touchpad? I've heard some negative reviews on it.

  • Dude the DV6T SE is pretty damn amazing. I got mine, and if u sing enough cash, and can find a good $350-$400 off coupon u could get it shy of $1,000. And i can play Crysis on high-highest settings full screened, with no lag.

  • dude its just talk and talk and talk and talk next time just get to the laptop itself instead of showing its length and weight nobody wants to know that they just want you to get to the point so they can move on with their youtube viewing

  • Gotta love american college students.

I need to illastrate the size of something lets see what could i use

A4 paper - nah thats an international standard size

Ruler - nah that might show bothe inch and cm scales

oh i know some random magazine that doesn't appar to meet any size standards

  • im planning to buy this model but im having second thoughts about buying the asus n61jq. im going to use it for mostly gaming, surfing the web and other stuff. wat should i buy????

  • just a question, since the trackpad buttons are integrated, does it ever mess up when u accidently put 2 fingers on the pad?

  • correct me if im wrong. This laptop (or the one im getting [i thinks its the same]) has an ati 5650 hd graphics card. How is that for gaming, can you demonstrate it in a video?

  • @justynchai if its 512MB or video ram, then it should be fine... the 1GB is for max resolution

  • @pacboy24 Yeah, i know it should be fine, i did my research already -.-, i know it can support almost all games, all i wanted was a game on video with this actual laptop. Ive seen the vids with the ati 5650 but those have i7 processors. I want to see this hp in action.

  • Low resolution screen is the one thing that keeps me from getting this laptop.

  • @Dimeist This is NOT LOW RESOLUTION, this is WIDESCREEN great viewing, you would have to pay $1000 extra for a macbook pro which might have a glass screen, this is the best as it gets for the price and GREATspecs

  • @InquisitiveFun There is a difference on screen size and screen resolution you know. Yes, it is widescreen, but still its 720p, as opposed to 1080p.

  • @InquisitiveFun

    It's low resolution.

  • @Zentath no its not

  • @InquisitiveFun Technically it is a 1366x768 display (I believe) which is the standard resolution for 15" machines. You can, however, get some higher end machines at 15" that run 1080p (1920x1080), which is probably what Dimeist is talking about. This is a great machine, however, and really you can get an external monitor and you'll be much happier.

  • @InquisitiveFun You will pay more money with crappy Hp's than macs. 10 HPs = 1 mac

  • @Dimeist pwned lol

  • Hi I was wondering if this laptop tends to run on the hot side, I am going to order a custom dv6tse soon and I have heard about some of HP's laptops running so hot they shut down a lot. I won't be doing any heavy gaming, mostly playing The Sims 3 once in a while and editing photos with Adobe Elements 8. Please let me know thanks!

  • @DustinsMommy09 I'm getting the dv6zse, which is pretty much exactly the same as the dv6tse, except for having an AMD processor. I've been researching a lot on the new Intel cores, and apparently they have heating issues, so I went with the zse.

  • BACKLIT KEYBOARD ?

  • @88a yeah

  • @88a yes there is a backlit keyboard option for $25

  • thumbs up for HP!

  • can you show us the how the cooling is built inside the laptop. does it use thermal past or anything like that on the CPU and GPU. i need someone with this laptop to show us the inside of the laptop

  • Great post. Thanks for taking the time to walk through the features and the detail. Congrats on your new computer. I have a dv5t from 2 years ago with a dual core, maxed out with 4gb of RAM, 256mb independent graphics. I've been very pleased with HP. Mine's running fine but I would like to see the performance differences with a quad core, more than 6gb of ram, and at least a gb of graphics.

  • does anyone have the edge to edge glass screen on dv6 or dv7? does dust go under it? do you have any problems with keys leaving their marks on the screen (it was a production flaw on earlier dv7's, keys sometimes left scratches and deformed the screen when lid closed)

and what about cooling/fan noise on idle and after an hour of use?

  • @mackorisnik009 DV6 SE with Touchscreen comes with Edge to edge screen, i can't say its glass but its a form of it. Nope using it for 20+ days now dust doesnt get inside, and keys dont leave marks on screen, theres tabs on edges of the lid to prevent it from touching keyboard, no fan noise on idle or light tasks but on intensive tasks like video encoding, fan spins up to dissipate heat. After hour of use left palm gets warm/hot its good to stay in cooled or airy room.

  • @InquisitiveFun that helped a lot! thanks man!

  • @InquisitiveFun thats the problem i have with my G62, it attracts a lot of dust even when its closed. I don't have one year with it and it constantly over heats. I love the keyboard and all but am not buying another HP.

    Nice video by the way.

  • @mackorisnik009 I too have a dv6tse w/ the touch screen and it's edge to edge glass. After having it for 4 months, I haven't had any problems with dust getting under the glass. Also, the screen doesn't make contact with the keyboard because there are little rubber tabs between them. As for your question about heat, the laptop remains cool during daily tasks on either graphics card (Intel GMA or ATI 5650). If gaming on the 5650 the left palm rest gets warm, but not too hot.

  • @JS2393 how much is this laptop on this vid. i just got one but its not touch screen or has a keyboard light

  • definitly getting this laptop. Need a new computer and this seems to meet most of my needs. Thanks.

  • 5 pounds .

  • still waiting for part two of this video ;)

  • this or a macbook?

  • @randomrazr get this macbook is shit

  • @randomrazr this

  • @rA177vP

    why so?

  • @randomrazr minor mistake

  • @MegaCrazycanadian

    oh i understand ur retarded

  • Can you please do a video on how the touchscreen is used on the laptop and can you tell viewers the specs of the laptop.

  • Thanks for the review. Would this laptop be suitable for editing HD videos?

  • how about screen. Does anybody can confirm that all screens are edge to edge??

    I dont want touch screen.

  • I'm goingto buy this laptop too.

    1. This is sell white color?

    2. How about battery. I saw you got 9 cell. How many hours .. 8 ??? WoW!

    3. How about temperature? Is fan making a lot noise??

  • Thanks for the vid man. I just finished reading every single page on the dv6t se owner's lounge, and this is the first time i've seen the 9 cell in the notebook. Really helpful!

  • I'll be buying this in the next week or two.. Ive been without my old laptop for about 2 months and Im beyond crazy witout a laptop. One question... What month did this new model come out? Great review thanks.

  • I have a few questions:

-When your hands are resting on the keyboard, does the trackpad get in the way?

-Since the power cable goes into the right side of the laptop, does it get in the way if you use a mouse on the right side of the laptop?

-How is the fan noise and heat? Idle vs. gaming?

    Thanks for the video review.

  • @superultraaa

    - You can set the sensitivity and some setting to prevent your palm from interfering with the touchpad. Works well for the most part.

-It actually extends like an inch out from the right side - depending on the distance it might or might not interfere. Using my G5 with the laptop raised due to a notebook cooler, it doesn't.

-Idle is relatively dead quiet and you can probably only hear it in a really quiet room. Depending on what game you're playing.

  • @takashisenke

like if you play Bad Company 2 (it pushes the 450M and the 5650 to 100%) it'll push the fan to 100% but a game like portal only pushes it up to like 50-75%.

  • @takashisenke So this isnt for extreme gaming. I just need it to work for some of my rts games like supcom 2 and starcraft 2. I dont care about max resolution but it would be nice to have max detail settings on average screen resolution.

  • Do another review after a month. Couple of issues I have with hp laptops is they are filled with bloatware. I'd love a fresh start option on their laptops. They tend to run hot after a certain point in time. The trackpads give a new meaning to the word horrendous. I honestly think they could make them thinner and lighter by using slot-load optical drives, given blu-ray and lightscribe aren't avaliable in slot load options. The left side of the keyboard is completely unnecessary, a calculator key

  • @tzbnks The trackpad is one of the things I really like about the laptop. It's huge and responsive. But I see how some people could not like it. I've had mine for about 3 weeks now, and I don't have any regrets. Build quality is surprisingly good. The left column of keys is unnecessary, but the keyboard feels great once you get used to it. I don't know, I really like the laptop.

  • I respect your opinion but you gotta admit, HP makes the crappiest trackpads. If they improved the trackpad, included anti-glare screen options, removed the vga port (adds bulk and hdmi does the job), used a lower profile optical drive and removed the bloatware (i reinstalled windows 7 when i got my hp laptop to deal with it, drivers are the problem), update their bios and drivers properly, and included larger ssd options, HP would be an ace in my book. I know lots of complaints.

  • @UncleDomino hey do you know how much this laptop costs??

  • @InquisitiveFun Thanks man, much appreciated. I have been lurking on the NBR forums for sometime and I noticed some of the guys there are having random issues and returning theirs. I was ready to purchase yesterday, but I decided to hold off for a little while again :)

  • Nice review, I am considering this one as well. What CPU? AMD or Intel? You got the 5650 or the 5470? Can you turn it on on the next video and show off the screen and backlit keyboard?

You have any issues with it so far?
