The Great American Dollhouse Museum (Danville,KY) sends a lot of patrons to Louisville for its collection of terrific and easy-access museums-- KY Museum of Art and Craft being one of the highest on our recommend list. It's just 90 minutes from us and well worth the day trip.
I went to college in L'ville. I was raised in a small town and LOVE cities; however, I don't like L'ville at all. There are a rather high amount of rude people there compared to others I've been to. SW Jefferson Co. is very white trash. E Jefferson is snobby in parts that it would give Naperville or Marietta a run for their money. A very disappointing city to say the least w/ many. If I stayed in the Ohio Valley, it would be Cincinnati! Otherwise, I plan to move to Houston, L.A., or Austin.
I moved from the Houston area to Louisville as a teen and if you think the people in East End are snobby, you haven't seen anything compared to Houston, or even Austin
I'm a Louisville native and if anyone were to travel there I would have to tell them to check out the Highlands on Bardstown Rd. Great culture. Good bars. Nice shops. There is also the comedy caravan there and they have great shows. Across the street there is a place called Ramses Cafe of the World. GREAT FOOD. Get the bastia.
whoa whoa whoa. first of all bardstown is basically trying to replicate places in california like telegraph road in oakland CA,(right next to san fran) and haight & ashbury in san francisco. now hippie is sort of a judgemnental word and it is very dissapointing that you say that just because bardstown road is cultural. now i will tell you where drug addicts live. wesport. and downtown near frankfort ave.
well if by weirdos, you mean people that can't afford expensive cars and dont have a "normal" outlook on life and dont judge people by what they look like or what their interests are. i take bacck what i say about you being unintelligent
It's definately not cheap. When my friends and I go we usually get a large and it's like $25.00. I don't mind because for us it's a once in a while thing.
It depends which Campus. Downtown is int to bad and the shelby campus in St. Mathews has a crime rate of like zero. Literally like the nicest place to go to school and live.
It depends which Campus. Downtown is int to bad and the shelby campus in St. Mathews has a crime rate of like zero. Literally like the nicest place to go to school and live.
I've been through New Albany many times to goto the casino. I love the drive along the river there. Absolutely beautiful in the spring with the fields of flowers blooming on the side of the road.
I can't wait till the new sky scraper gets built. I love Louisville. Did you know that Louisville is the 26th largest City in the Nation (which is larger than Atlanta). Anyway, there's a bit of useless information for you.
LOUISVILLE ROCKS! If you have not visited this hidden gem, do so NOW! The people are so nice..it is sort of weird. you MUST go to Impellizari's Pizza on Bardstwon Rd. God eats this pizza. it is that good.
Louisville is a fantastic place! In addition to being a fun spot to visit and a great place to live, we also have some of the most caring people! The Greater Louisville community is really dedicated to improving the lives of others and the conditions in the region!
Wheres Churchill Downs in this video? Where is Bardstown road too? Thoses places make louisville Badass. Waterfront? Kentucky Kingdom isn't great but still is fun. The Louisville Zoo is tight. Next time you go I suggest these places. Explore outside of Downtown a little more.
I love going to Churchill Downs. We go a couple times a year. I haven't been to the Zoo yet. I've been down to the water front but I really want to go for the Thunder Over Louisville.
When I was 12 or 13 my family went to Louisville for a vacation and that was the first time I got to see the science museum. I still have photos of me and my friends standing infront of the big mirror. As an adult it was still really cool to see but it has been geared down more for kids. I'm glad I got to visit it again though. It brought back a lot of good memories.
louisville really isnt that great....there are tons of cities with way more to do...being downtown scares the crap out of me...im surprised you didnt get any of fourth street live or cave hill....and bearnos is expensive...
I don't know that I have been to either Fourth Street Live or Cave Hill. I take it their worth seeing. Can't argue with you about the cost at Bearnos. The pizza is a bit pricey but I've yet to find an out of town pizza place with as good of pizza. Do you have any suggestions for another place to try? My friends and I go at least twice a year for the races and sometimes just for the heck of it.
whoa all those places have crime through the roof, no thanks. If louisville gets that bad ill move to the country. 44.per 100k muder rate for detriot, 8. per 100k here.
The numbers used to measure crime in those cities do not reflect that those cities are 3 to 4 times the size of Louisville. The cities I mentioned certainly have higher concentrated crime statistically Memphis for example is 3 times the size of Louisville. it is about 1.5 million people where Louisvilles correct number is about 700,000 (Indiana should not count) and it has much more wealth(lower taxes) than Louisville could ever hope to achieve. Atlanta is about 2 and 1/2 times Louisville.
Memphis being 3 times larger is in Land mass not population. I do love Louisville however what has to happen to make this a great city is the removal of Lord Abramson and a shakeup so bad in Frankfort that a democrat wont be elected for at least 10 years.(Republicans arent much better). We have some of the highest overall taxes on income in the nation and they just went up again this week on petrol and the 2.2% income tax on occupation AKA stealing from workers. Compare Ky taxes to Mass orCali

Atlanta is about 2 and 1/2 the size of Louisville and Memphis or Nashville put together so yes it is going to have a higher crime rate per capita even though that crime is mostly concentrated in certain areas. One thing Louisville is in deep with is the Ford situation . One factory has already been sold to UPS and the other produces an obsolete dinosaur(trucks). Technology based companies are looking elsewhere because of the tax and education system here so when Ford and GE leave guess what?
Ford is actually stable. And the Chamberlain lane plant makes a lot of industrial trucks(obsolete dinosaurs that will always be needed). UPS just finished expanding several years ago. Jefferson County schools are very good. I agree with you on the tax situation, Democrats, which have controlled this city all my life, have taxed way too much.
Jefferson county schools do not fare well compared to other regions even though there are a few traditional schools that are exceptional the overall systems is mediocre. UPS can expand all it wants to here for the simple reason that those jobs are mostly minimum wage and short term at best. They provide income and prevent poverty however they do not create true wealth which again is the real measure of an economy.

I made this a while back using Sony Muvee Creator. A simple but fairly nice program. It is a one click video producer and you may have noticed the drawback is that it repeats video clips sometimes or pictures. Still, nice transitions and ease of use make it a nice addition to anyone's software collection.
I've heard it's a nice program. A guy I used to work with used it for all his videos. THey looked pretty nice. I haven't ever tried it. I did look for it to purchase but it was a bundled software at the time. The only thing I don't like about Vegas is that there aren't enough organic transitions like, snowflakes, puzzle pieces, and stuff like that.
Secondly, the music was SOOOOO obnoxious I was forced to turn down to the point it was almost inaudible. When you finally did cahnge songs the second was worst than the first. Finally, it was too long. Six minutes is a stretch. Of course if you eliminated the repetition it would be a more reasonable 3 or 4 minute flick with no need for a second HORRIBLE song.

Well that was 6 minutes and 28 seconds of my life that I'll never get back. Is there a reason we needed to see that F****ng "batters must wear helmet" sign 27 times in a six minute span???????
Well, it may not be interesting to you... I see you live in Louisville, KY. Post a video and show me a better way to make a Louisville video. I look forward to seeing your video.
I never claimed I could make a better video but I could of at least attempted to be more contructive with my criticism , my apoligies for that. Atlanta is about 2 and 1/2 the size of Louisville and Memphis or Nashville put together so yes it is going to have a higher crime rate per capita even though that crime is mostly concentrated in certain areas.
