The investigators weren't trying to blame the couple, they were just doing their job, trying to find out what happened to that child.But the couple made it very difficult for the police because they refused to cooperate.Probably the "no stone left unturned " was probably just a slogan to give the media some good headlines...

The investigators job is to ask questions.The parents job is to answer them.Simple.If the parents refuse to do so they are hindering the investigation. Doing that to your child its very damaging to their image as parents.If the girl is not found it's their fault because they didn't help the police.
