Is it just me, or have any of you realized how easy it would be for them to make an animated version of Firefly? Joss Whedon still owns the franchise rights, yes? The 'verse' if you will. They can animate an entire season ahead of schedule and the original actors voice act in any array of scheduls. To top it off, it would seem that an animated series would be well received by fans and not fought over by execs as much. Animated features do get more ladditude. Just in case we aim to misbehave!

As far as reviving the series or doing a sequel I don't think it will happen. From what I have read Joss seems to have made his peace with all these characters and has moved on, which is a total shame. But hey movie sequels used to be made 5 to 10 years apart until fairly recently so maybe he will come back to it.
Good job! There are a few things in it I can't seem to place in neither the series nor the show. For example: Zoe's monologue in the beginning, the short interaction between Mal and Inara and also what the Operative says to Mal about the battle of Serenity. Where did you get those?
This movie, and the series before it, is the most underrated thing in existence.
There could be another series, just the same type of plot/episodes as the original, it would be missing 2 things(Which I won't say, in case people haven't seen the movie), but it could still be done.
actually, they might be able to pull it off WITH those 2 missing things. They could finish off the first season, maybe do one or two more seasons, then show the movie as a season finale or season premiere, then continue on from there. That's my thinking...
It should not be a one "man's" story. The reason the series and movie captured the imagination of many across distant space (i.e America, Southeast Asia, India, China etc) is because, among other reasons, it tells the story through many characters' lives. The plot has to be more complex than a single statement about what one man lost and now seeks to find it again. All the same good attempt.
i agree but haveing it start as a one mans quest story doesn't mean it will be. zoe was at serenity vally too and after the last film will also be looking for some answers. the rest of the crew throught the action of helping them get to serenity vally could descover new things about themselves.

Another idea for a sequal is the aliance has one last ditch effort to kill everyone one on the ship. The ace in the hole is a graduate from the academy that Simon recued River from is now sent after the crew of Serenity.

lol. Prison Break came out in late 2004/early 2005. Firefly came out in 2002. hw the hell would firefly be cancelled coz of prison break/ i like both shows. Firefly was cancelled by the executives, not by any other show.
Heroes was good but it went downhill in series 2, it took a while to come back up to scratch but it wasn't the same, it was Cancelled too about 6 or 7 months ago.
@pslyko apparently (and from what surfing I've done I'm pretty sure it's true) Fox aired the episodes out of order. So it's all their fault, and there is no excuse ... I mean ... how is it possible to mess up THAT bad?!!
They could keep the dead characters in the movie, by making it like a mystery or something they have to solve,and using flashbacks and stuff or memories to remember what they need to do to fix the problem. Just thinking out loud here! :D But i think it would be great, because we'd still get to see Wash! :D WOOT WOOT!

Cool trailer. But it made me so depressed to think about how they cancelled Firefly and Serenity ended on a bit of a sour note (with the whole Wash incedent) and how there really isn't going to be a sequel although I have frequent dreams of it...

You know, I'm kind of glad that Joss (or whoever) decided to change the look of the Alliance ships in Serenity. The giant floating pyramids just...I don't know...looked funny, I guess.
It's funny, I didn't notice that until I read your post, you are right.
I do like the TV Alliance ships, but they didn't work for the film's battle. Those ships are almost like moving space stations and not true battleships.
If you listen to the commentary on the dvds, Joss Whedon said he designed the floating pyramid alliance things to look like a literal fortress or city in space, and not to be ship like.
It is absolutely criminal this show was canceled. I'm sorry, but one two hour movie is just not enough. There has to be more. Comic books are great, but Joss needs to try to do another movie at least.
Well termiantor the sarah connor chronicles is getting revived due to fans from terminatorwiki. Who knows with a bit more of campaigning we could make the executives revive it? Or we could campaign for SciFi Channel to revive it.

Here's a thought. Joss said he invisioned that the Mal/River/Opperative story would have been a second season cliffhander had it gone on multiple seasons...so they could do a season or two (35 episodes by my conjurring) that happen after "Objects in Space" and before "Serenity" (the movie). When I said 35 episodes its because i figured 10 to make the first season complete and 25 for a second season. Just an idea. Whacha Think? Shiny?

I here you. Considder this; if you had to choose between Wash and Book... Suppose Joss came to you and said we are doing another show but we can only bring back one, two would look suspicious... I'd have to say wash too, he brought the humour to the crew and he was the one who could ineract and draw more complex emotions from zoe. Though I must say I'd like for Book to come back too, cause the man is a mystery, or as it was said "that ain't a sheppard"- or something like that=P But we didn't get to learn much about him so I'm not as bound to him as I am to Wash, so yes, Wash for sure!:)
I agree, Wash would be better. But it would be interesting to see how Book's story plays out and how Zoe would be coping with her husband's death. Were all the Reavers wiped out by the Alliance/River? Because it would be cool if Zoe had a personal vendetta against them.
I don't understand why Firefly got such low ratings, I watched the show on DVD about a couple months after it got cancelled and I loved it, and Serenity was just as good :D
If this were really in theaters, I would camp outside the cinema (Even though there probably wouldn't be a line for it anyway. No one appreciates Firefly :() with a portable DVD player watching Serenity over and over again!
And I would bring every person I know. By their will, or... otherwise ^^

The violin is actually a fiddle and it's a song known as 'River's Jig' which you can find on iTunes along with the album 'On The Drift: Music Inspired by Firefly and Serenity' by the Bedlam Bards.

Cool trailer. But it made me so depressed to think about how they cancelled Firefly and Serenity ended on a bit of a sour note (with the whole Wash incedent) and how there really isn't going to be a sequel although I have frequent dreams of it...

OMG, I' got chills watching that! That would make an amazing second film! I'M PRAYING THAT THERE IS SOME POSSIBILITY THAT IT WILL BE MADE!! I'm obsessed with Firefly/Nathan Fillion, so that would be utter happiness! Beautiful job on that video! Seriously! I hate that Wash & Book are gone thou! I've always thought Joss should make Neil Patrick Harris the new pilot. He can be Wash's younger brother, Holden. Whatcha think? ^__^

You know, I'm kind of glad that Joss (or whoever) decided to change the look of the Alliance ships in Serenity. The giant floating pyramids just...I don't know...looked funny, I guess.

It's funny, I didn't notice that until I read your post, you are right.
I do like the TV Alliance ships, but they didn't work for the film's battle. Those ships are almost like moving space stations and not true battleships.

If you listen to the commentary on the dvds, Joss Whedon said he designed the floating pyramid alliance things to look like a literal fortress or city in space, and not to be ship like.

It is absolutely criminal this show was canceled. I'm sorry, but one two hour movie is just not enough. There has to be more. Comic books are great, but Joss needs to try to do another movie at least.

Here's a thought. Joss said he invisioned that the Mal/River/Opperative story would have been a second season cliffhander had it gone on multiple seasons...so they could do a season or two (35 episodes by my conjurring) that happen after "Objects in Space" and before "Serenity" (the movie). When I said 35 episodes its because i figured 10 to make the first season complete and 25 for a second season. Just an idea. Whacha Think? Shiny?

That sounds brilliant! though they would still die in the end:( If they would continue after "serenity" thenI'd hope for some bizarre twist where it starts of with River saying "that's what would happen if I didn't do "so and so"- refering to her saving wash and book. I'd so wish that could happen, cause it wouldnt be the same without them :) I could live with some gigantic flaw in logic if it ment they'd live :P

I here you. Considder this; if you had to choose between Wash and Book... Suppose Joss came to you and said we are doing another show but we can only bring back one, two would look suspicious... Who would you bring back and who would you have to comprimise on??? I'd have to bring back Wash. The show needs a "blond" influence and after all remember "HE'S THE FUNNY ONE!!!!" Think about that while you juggle your geese. ROFLOL.

I'd have to say wash too, he brought the humour to the crew and he was the one who could ineract and draw more complex emotions from zoe. Though I must say I'd like for Book to come back too, cause the man is a mystery, or as it was said "that ain't a sheppard"- or something like that=P But we didn't get to learn much about him so I'm not as bound to him as I am to Wash, so yes, Wash for sure!:)

I agree, Wash would be better. But it would be interesting to see how Book's story plays out and how Zoe would be coping with her husband's death. Were all the Reavers wiped out by the Alliance/River? Because it would be cool if Zoe had a personal vendetta against them.

I don't understand why Firefly got such low ratings, I watched the show on DVD about a couple months after it got cancelled and I loved it, and Serenity was just as good :D

If this were really in theaters, I would camp outside the cinema (Even though there probably wouldn't be a line for it anyway. No one appreciates Firefly :() with a portable DVD player watching Serenity over and over again!
And I would bring every person I know. By their will, or... otherwise ^^
