  • The end made me laugh soo much!

  • Damn GCSE English, anyone got any notes on this erghh

  • @cozstuart how about when you come out of the Army with PTSD and bullet wounds?

  • Dizzee rascal is pure legend

  • imagine if tupac was alive and on this debate, a more serious affair it would of been...

  • Oh come on, like it or not one of the benefits of a fine English education (such as Paxman's) is that it affords a person the time to learn about other cultures, points of view and how to debate and question with wit and good-naturedness. Paxman is a superb example of the kind of accommodating, erudite man England is best at producing, and he's fully aware of what it means to call his guest 'Mr Rascal'. He's slipping a wonderfully subtle sense of humour into newsnight. Dizzee gets it!

  • yeah they exist

  • Mr Rascal lol. Mr fucking Rascal. You couldn't make this shit up,

  • what a patronizing cunt

  • My English gcse is on this interview -_-

  • lol is positive yer yer its positive iinit!

  • I love the way he calls him "Mr Rascal" at 4:57

  • ..Why aren't subtitles provided for Dizzee?

  • hahaha he's hilarious

They should have got lowkey or someone if they wanted a more serious discussion

  • THUMBS UP If your only watching this because of GCSE ENGLISH ergh :@

  • @WezzerW i know right, i wanted to do jackie chan interview!

  • Barack Obama is NOT black! He's mixed race! He's just as much white as he is black...

  • It was embarrassing to watch that clownish rudeboy grinning and swaying around like a thug. They could have at least invited on an intelligent young black man who actually had something interesting to say.

  • Dizzee has got have been the most honest and true to word interview Paxman has ever done. I genuinely think that Paxman enjoyed that interview because for the first time, he didn't have to badger some politician for an honest answer. Dizzee for Prime Minister, he'll do a hell of alot better than some toff from Eton.

  • @cozstuart ..Yeah he'll do much better won't he? Because Dizzee has a first class Degree in Economics doesn't he?

  • @Dungarth He's an entrepreneur, a hugely successful one at that. Who needs university degrees when you have hands on experience? I always say the same about joining the army. You could go to university for 4 years, piss your money away and come out of it £100,000 in debt, or join the army, do the same degree with the hands on approach, and come out of it £100,000 up. Experience exceeds knowledge buddy.

  • @cozstuart ..Granted he is a successful musician/record label owner (or vocalist rather), but I'd hardly call him an entrepreneur.

  • Mr Rascal lolz...

  • Wow. Unfortunately Dizzee sounds so ignorant. "We can achieve it innit" -Thats no way to talk on a show like NewsNight

  • @Macunator dont be a downer -.-

  • it is Baroness Amos to you.

  • that little black lady's posh, she dnt kno shit, LOL

  • dizzy rascal do you believe in the political parties in the UK?

    ...yeah, they exist. LOL!

  • Facking patronising facking wanker

    dizziee is an intelligent guy

and this is whats facking wrong with the world nowdays

  • hahha fuckin legend :P

  • yeah they exist LOL

  • STFU Paxman! You prick!

  • @fastsnake dizzee rascal's african, no where in this vid did he do a jamaican accent

  • love that cheeky grin haha

  • I sat here cringing, Dizzee Rascal to represent the black youth/community? Seriously?

  • @Enzieify yeah hes a legend

  • @HImyNAMEisEMPTY No, he is not.

  • @Enzieify how? because he doesnt talk like a private school prick?

  • @HImyNAMEisEMPTY It's much bigger than that, my friend. Remember we're trying to beat a stereotype, not encourage it.

  • @Enzieify In fairness you can have your own opininon but I like dizzee rascal and tbh as he has came out of crime in his past and made himself a role model for people to follow in his footsteps

  • @HImyNAMEisEMPTY I'm not arguing that, Dizzee rascal is a role model. However he needs to speak in a way that will get us out of this stereotype that we can't speak for ourselves. Does he know how serious this has to be taken, the BBC was taking the piss do you not realize that?

  • @Enzieify lol yeah but you don't seem to realise he was taking the piss back

  • @HImyNAMEisEMPTY Nah mate...that was disgraceful, they did that on purpose/

  • @Enzieify yeah but who cares what the bbc think anyway?

  • @AdamKoalaKelly On your part.

  • @AdamKoalaKelly You fail more like

  • @AdamKoalaKelly You fail more like

  • @AdamKoalaKelly Someone isn't able to tell when someone is being sarcastic I see.

  • @AdamKoalaKelly epic sarcasm understanding fail.

  • do you consider yourself british?? is that not an extremely racist thing to ask him??

  • @beanaldo not extremely racist just abit fucking dumb

  • @AdamKoalaKelly

He was ripping the Patronizing tone of Paxman.

  • Can't bear the British Jafaican accent. Long life to the real Jamaïcan accent.

  • I think someone of the likes of Lowkey would have been a better guest

  • @juzzy7291

    now you're talking.

  • @juzzy7291 Yeah Lowkey or Akala - at least they'd've had something semi-intelligent to put forward...

  • paxman is a fucking disgrace on this show. complete condescending tone towards dizzee rascal. 'you seem optimistic' when dizzee answers 'of course a black man can become prime minister'. disgusting piece of journalism by him. joke

  • Yea I got on that 'sorry' at the beginning and that ' 3 of you' comment.

    What a knob

  • ''You look at the number of black cabinet ministers, there's been three of you havent there?''

    Three of you!? WTF

    What a prick.

  • @froootbat

she is on the show representing 'black' people, the whole topic of discussion is race related from start-to-finish, in the context of things I don't see the big deal. It's just his usual way of keeping his guests in the spot light.

all you faggots talk like you've never seen an episode of newsnight before watching the clip on 'hip hop changed the world'

  • @d33pS3Ad1v3r

I have never seen newsnight... I just thought it was out of line the way he said it, BLARFT!

  • DIZZEE RASCAL FOR PRIME MINISTER ! WHO AGREES ??

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU ARE SICK OF PEOPLE ASKING YOU FOR A THUMBS UP

  • Idk what the hating is about. Diz was upbeat, positive and handled it well. Jeremy was being a bit of a dick about having him on, but diz done his thing.

  • @Js5s141

    Exactly.

Paxo was his patronising self; Even moreso this time - Dizzee threw it straight back at him "Why don't you be President"

    "Maybe I will!"

Dizzee's point about Obama tapping into the Youth via embracing Hip-Hop was an astute point, as was his deflection of race questions.

He was promoting UNITY above all else - How can that be bad?

  • @Taporeee

    prime-minister, you fucking mong.

  • @d33pS3Ad1v3r

    I stand corrected; Prime-Minister indeed.

You though, need to learn some manners and etiquette.

  • @Taporeee

etiquette ? You're on youtube you moron.

  • @d33pS3Ad1v3r

Fair enough; But at least you imply you have to learn some manners.

    Progress...

  • @Taporeee

nope. I refer you once again to the fact we are having this exchange in youtube comments.

  • @d33pS3Ad1v3r

Well, in that case I shall respond with the exchange at 0:22 in "It's A Right Royal Cockney Barrel Of Monkeys" (Youtube comes up with an error posting the link)

  • he such a grey haired prick

  • its like hes saying sorry folks we have dizzy rascal here before he even sttts a discussion with him. haha torally did c how hiphop changed the world. im an more indie rock n roll guy tho. still some hip hops decent specially old skl stuff

  • @pingubrain u hit the nail on the head. i almost turned off because of this ridiculous discussion. it shouldnt matter wat colour someone is and theres not been a black prime minister because none have ran for office yet or if they have they have been unsuccesful due to their attributes not their race. its actually racist having that conversation. a man shouldnt get because hes black just as a mn shouldnt not get because hes black. very patronising of pax man when he says sorry at the beggining.

  • Don't mock Dizzee, he did well and is doing better than all you that criticise him

  • Say*

  • Why did he sorry at the start?

  • Hands up who missed this when it was on tv, but looked it up after watching 'How Hip Hop Changed The World' on channel 4?

  • Dizzee deserves respect for making the best out of a bad situation, what with Paxman obviously being ridiculously highly strung and a total idiot.

  • why is there this argument "can a black man run the country?" of course they can, everyones equal, why couldnt he?

  • the newsreader is a prick.

  • People are being unfair to dizzee, he did quite well considering he has a vocabulary consisting of no more than 50 words. Whenever a rapper has to talk about something other than themselfs and how brilliant they are, a struggle will always ensue. At least, unlike the vast majority of arseholes Paxman has interviewed, Rascal answered his questions.

  • Like if you watched this after watching channel 4 :)

  • U naive, fickle people should be ashamed of yourselves, Mocking dizze just because he speaks differently from you. His thoughts and ideas are exceptional you may question the elocution of his words, yes. Because the WHITE DUDE, is a patronising, stereotyping prick, Just like all you who pre judge. Get off your high horses

  • @MrDonfari

What are these exceptional thoughts and ideas? That he likes hip hop? Seriously, I know the interviewer was patronising, but don't assume just from that that Dizzee has anything intelligent to say. Don't mock his speech, mock his thoughts.

  • Wot a racist cunt... Smh

  • paxman has always been a faggot

  • Okay, so you must speak that crappy Queen's BS english to be taken seriously? Everything Dizzee said was right. An individual does not change things, PEOPLE change things.

  • I honestly think dizzee kind of winged it bless him and it aint even his fault like. He replied to the questions well seeing as dis prickman asked him some booky questions, that I dont think were relevant at all. So taking into account the pedantic tone, he answered brilliantly, and kept his composure too. I know if it was me, I would've started to get agitated to rahs.

  • love it paxman is on dizzies case and dizzie just jokes and shrugs him off and even says a few good things

  • patronising man ! theirs been 3 of you haven't there

  • patronising man !

  • Thinks he can talk down to people because he's got a suit on, mug.

  • Somehow this video reminds me of that Ali G Indahouse film...

  • thumbs up if you came here because of 'hip-hop changed the world' on channel 4

  • @MzLexiee yup lol

  • @MzLexiee pretty quick? lool

  • @MzLexiee shut the fuck up, cunt.

  • @999brap999

dickhead, who tha fuck are you doe. PAHAHAHAH

  • Dat paxmans a prick ya kna

  • Why is dizzee rascal on newsnight? He's black yer but I still don't get it. lol :D

  • @boxxer221 2 try and show there down with the kids

  • didn't like the 'do you think your'e british' question. low

  • hahahah this is comedy gold

  • do you believe in political parties in britain?

Yeah they exist, i belive in them. lol classic, good answer

  • actually i take back what i said...everything he said was right and his delivery was exceptional...dizee don;t change yourself for anyone..you don't have to speak posh if your not

  • Comment removed

  • @positiveblackman1 you don't have to be posh to speak proper English you know just saying!

  • he's right in everything he said but his delivery was poor...

  • @AdamKoalaKelly More epic humour fail - wanna go for the hat-trick?

  • I keep thinking this is a Trigger Happy TV like programme on BBC 3 and later they will be behind the scenes laughing about in a square box in the side of the screen.

  • hahaha I remember watching this live - the whole thing was surreal.

  • @AdamKoalaKelly More like epic humour fail on your part - he's clearly being sarcastic.

  • Christ he's like a black George W. Bush. Except he was never capable of destroying half the world.

  • Political parties..."yeah they exist" wtf respect to the reporter for not instantly bursting into laughterXD

  • He seems drunk ?

  • ....Whats Obama done for Black people since becoming president? oh yeah thats right... FUCK ALL. Ivory Coast & Libya is a bigger mess than it ever was, Sudan the same, Zimbabwe EVEN WORSE. South Africa ONCE AGAIN on the verge of social breakdown. Serves you lot RIGHT...still at least I don't have to suffer that stupid fucking annoying Black Eyed Peas Obama song again.

  • @Dungarth sorry, but barrack obama is president of the usa, not the au! He's not some kind of world saviour, he has to sort out the complete shit that america is in, and slowly but surely he is doing it - helping the whole country, not just blacks

  • dizzee rascal may have looked stupid when this was first released, but paxman and amos look stupid 3 years later after barack obama has done jack shit to help anyone.

  • wow, they had to get a bloody rapper to represent black people wtf

  • hes a foooooooolll

  • Why is everyone hating on Dizee. I think he is quite clever but he just doesnt put himself across that well. But he is too funny and hes kinda being an idot on purpose

  • @nicoolsg completely agree, think the guy's switched on and has a good outlook of how life should be. It's just unfortunate is manner of articulation varies so much from paxman and the baroness. Makes him stick out like a sore thumb. Fucking hilarious interview. "Today Jezzah, my name is MISTER Rascal" :D

  • @basshead6949 |You are very right! exactly my thought!, He got some good points, just the manner he is projecting them/ coming down to articulation

  • The most cringeworthy interview, ever. Dizzee Rascal..... Oh dear.

  • At any point there are 22 cabinet members, the british public composes of about 2% black people, thad'd mean an average of 0.4 per cabinet over a 4 year time frame. So there have been 3 in total, which would average out at about what would be expected over a 24 year span. That's not too bad is it? I think she's a bit over the top. Comparing it with having only one female prime minister; females comprise of 50% of the population, well that's a much bigger deal in my opion.

  • Disgraced all Blacks :/ DIZZEE! I like his voice though! <3 Hip hop has got nothing to do with it :/

  • @AdamKoalaKelly I hear you, that was one of the dumbest responces I have ever heard in the media right up the next to Palin.

  • its important to remember that a lower proption of the britsh public is black than american, hence it is more unlikley for a black priminister candidate to appear

  • @chriscarter..

Your a fucking idiot, i'm a white working class bloke, who's had to put up with wankers like you all my life.

  • What you are looking at and reading is rampant class snobbery.

  • I think I would leave the u.k. if their was a black prime minister. Race is like town v town rivalry or football vs another team. its just as people we like to feel find security and safety in "our" togetherness. And when you mix someone who has many different values or less appreciations of another society your going to have issues. My question is why should we be the world leaders in this "come to our country" culture when we are clearly reaping no reward. On the other hand how can u say no.

  • what a dumbass - embarrassing

  • 'why is it we have done so much better on gender than race? look at the number of black cabinet ministers'

2% off the population is black....figure it out.

  • I thought he had a point, quite eloquent when you examine his words.

  • Comment removed

  • ffs why do they need to go to Dizzee Rascal to comment on Obama when their only connection is they both have the same colour skin. He doesn't have a clue about politics, so don't involve him. He's good at grime, so he should stick to it instead of going on political shows and claim to know nothing about parties ("it is what it is") and claim hip hop is the answer to all the world's woes :/

  • I love his music but he makes himself look a fool here.

  • Why did they invited Dizzee Rascal on, could they not find anyone else to represent Black Britons

  • This guy is an idiot and his music is crap. Can't believe people buy his music.

    Tinie Tempah RULZ!!!!

  • @ChrisCarter1983 wonder how paxman would sound in the booth...

  • @unclegusyo Hahaha! Awesome! That might actually work....lol

  • @ChrisCarter1983 last time i checked animals don't go on mastermind :/

  • @00alistair last time I checked, neither did rappers. :-O

  • @ChrisCarter1983 Hip-hop artist* =D

  • @00alistair Oh yeah! Sorry, "hip-hop artist". lol

Well, hip-hop and I hope he stops.

  • @ChrisCarter1983 Where was he wrong?

  • @afro10k

he wasn't 'wrong' per se, he was just incredibly simplistic about the whole thing.

  • @d33pS3Ad1v3r ... So because he didn't put across his point in as eloquent a way as possible you equate him to a "special needs donkey"? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think even a fully capable donkey would have been able to do as well as Mr. Rascal did on Newsnight.

Furthermore, he was there because he's a representative of one of the key factors of Obama's successful campagn, appealing to youth via R&B music. I don't think a donkey would have that going for him either.

  • @afro10k Hip hop, sorry. Ain't I the goose?

  • ........LOL

  • Mr Rascall

  • 5:15 yeah... we used to laugh at them too Paxman...

  • Comment removed

  • @Sykskar

We're using this as a practice for GSSE english.

  • @muffin8or we're using it for AS Level English. :D

  • @davidicusb

It's a pretty bad & boring interview. Not much to write about. We did a practice paper on the Paxman/Galloway interview which is much better & easier to write about.

  • @muffin8or we did too! :D I really liked this one though as a piece of entertainment, just makes me laugh so much.

  • @Sykskar english

  • @Sykskar English

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL please...... slap your self

  • @Sykskar english

  • @Sykskar English :L

  • lol i respect him for being comfortable enough to be himself even in an environment like that where he was uhh.. a bit out of his depth.

  • haha oh my days so long gone this still cracks me up

  • Dizzee's such an idiot :L :') We have to use this as part of our GCSE -.-

  • Comment removed

  • .........ok thanks very musch indeed LMFAO

  • Hahahahaha dizze is to hood to be on this

  • The BBC, Oxbridge graduates all, but thankfully not of the Tory variety. They know that their programs can be dull, so by getting Dizzee in he introduces a new audience to Newsnight and makes the BBC look a little cool for a change, while he gets publicity out of it.

Paxman didn't expect much from him, so didn't grill him but was humorous and amiable and played the stuck up foil to Dizee's street talk, but no different from how he handles white non political guests from the entertainment biz.

  • Cameron stole Dizee's ideas here, re: his 'big society'.
