This does have suction, so it is a vacuum, a low powered one, but if used DAILY it will keep the floors really clean... I have been using mine for YEARS, I love it, I set it to clean nightly at 2am.
I have replaced the battery once, and finally it is showing its age, so I need a new one. I plan on getting the dirt dog instead, and a scooba for the hardwood.
u know the dirt dog is for outdoor use and if u ARE gonna use it on hardwood floor it will scratch it badly. my aunt use it on hardwood and that's what happened
This thing is great until it quits. Their customer support is horrible. My roomba got stuck in the spot mode. Everything works but it only cleans a two foot area. iRobots customer support's response? Buy another one this one is broke. It was barely a year old and over $300 dollars. DONT BUT THIS Product.
Dont buy from HSN...They will scam you and give you a lesser model number than you order. Look around on the net and you will see what I am talking about. Find it elsewhere...You have been warned :-)
no it's just meant for a house that tends to get dirtier, such as a house that has multiple cats and people who are constantly busy. or a larger house as the case might be.
yea they work nicely. I have a roomba 500 there where also newer models when i bought mine but i thought this would do for now until i see if it really is as advertised. And works wihout a problem. now i'm thinking of buying a scooba :)))
Out of the box it really works as we see here. Sadly however the product quality is short lived.
At least the three examples I know of all turned into nightmares of problems and waste of time going back and forth to the shops. Within a year the angry owners had run out of steam and simply thrown the faulty devices out.

The manufacturer, iRobot, has come out with a new generation of Roombas, a couple of which are now available on our website - keyword: roomba. They have improved cleaning performance, larger filters, navigation changes the reduce the chance they'll get stuck and more. Like all tech products, the company will continue to improve them in response to feedback and new engineering and technology.

I was gonna use the dirt dog on the carpet, not the hardwood, oh that would be bad.
adonian 2 years ago
but if u do use it on carpet it won't pick up all the dirtin the carpet even if u have short knap
astro533 2 years ago
I guess I'll just replace the brushes on my discovery and get a scooba for the hardwood.
I've had my discovery for like 5 years now, and it does a good job since I run it 3-5 times a week.
I'm on my 3rd battery now, and it still works good, just need new brushes. Was hoping the dirt dog could replace my discovery on the cheap ya know.
adonian 2 years ago
but it still won't pick up the dirt on carpet like how the roomba can
astro533 2 years ago
I have a discovery, I just need to change the brushes, so thats what i'll do, I wont get the dirt dog after all.

It shouldn't. The Roomba has a built-in edge sensor that prevents it from happening.

These things CANNOT be used as substitutes for heavy duty vacuum cleaners.
It can't clean corners of rooms or in the corners of carpeted rooms, or inside a couch etc,
.... and STAIRS... unless you want to set it down on each stair and watch it bounce back and forth repeatedly before it goes straight.
It is good for light cleanings to prepare for company or to keep a clean house clean, but not a replacement for a good vacuum.

thts what the dirt dogg is for
boomguy12345 3 years ago 3
the dirt dog is meant to go in a MANS shop and it is a lot more heavy duty
