  • awww Wesley..poor thing..saying he eats to solves his problems. I hope he isn't being bullied..so many of us start eating so young to hide pain. Poor kid..

  • Unhealthy foods are cheap because our tax dollars ARE GOING TOWARDS GRAIN SUBSIDIES, STOP THROWING OUR MONEY AT FOOD FARMS AND CHEAP FOOD WAREHOUSES. here is a thought SUDSIDIZE PRODUCE

  • @r1pvanwinkle just let the fat people die, survival of the fittest, the smartest n strongest will survive

  • And the other problem is people themselves. They only want to eat stuff that tastes good and they eat too many processed foods. Well feces could be engineered and processed to taste good. Would you eat that too?

Notice how no one ever talks about preservatives in foods? They're not the angelic ingredients you've been lead to believe, they're quite the opposite.

  • First of all, I find it interesting how this clip had no ads placed on it and second, obesity is a glandular, hormonal and societal engineering problem. Go look down the street from your house. What do you see? Chances are, it's a McDonalds, Taco Bell, etc. Neither one of those establishments and many more sell food that fit for human consumption. Where is the local fresh food and produce? Sound weird? That's how they do it in countries where people aren't obese like Italy

  • I love that the advertisement i got for this video was for Magnum ice cream!

  • fighting obesity with giving children vegetable salads in school will not help -> after school / at home they will continue eating junk food / McFood like pigs ... 1'st - u must educate people how to live healthily ...

  • Well if we need to tax the fat, then anyone whith ANY unhealthy habits should be taxed too, people who drink, smoke, and also have sex should be taxed too. Since aids, liver disease and lung cancer are really huge medical problems as well. Fucking hypocrites. And Australia is the fattest nation, not the u.s. I swear you people will believe anything that is degrading...

  • And we wonder why US health care costs are skyrocketing. It is officially time to tax the fat.

  • As long as my kids aren't fat which they won't be because I'm vegan, I really don't care about other people's health and improper food diets. You are what you eat and you're stupid for eating gross food. What do you expect? Use your brain. It's sad to see fat kids, their parents shouldn't be parents.

  • This makes me cry... A lot of it is these parents! I went to school with this girl whose mom sent her junk food in her lunch box. No vegetables, no fruits, just junk...And now she is obese. I always wished my mom didn't make me eat healthy, but I thank her now!! Us Americans are super fat and need a change...

  • America isn't standing... America is sitting. :D.....

I kid... this is a serious problem.

  • IM 168LBS. I DONT GET ANY SPECIAL TREATMENT..I GET TREATED LIKE A PIECE OV SHIT. LIKE EVERY 1 ELSE...THIS ALL BULLSHIT. FROM THE MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR DIET INDUSTRY...CHURCHILL WAZ FAT HE LIVED 2 B 90. THIS WORLD IZ GETTING WORSE...ALL SKINNY PPL WELL B FAT 1 DAY THEMSELVES..

  • I know it sounds terrible, but I would choose death over obesity... Afterall, life in an obese body is no life at all...

  • well .. time 4 me to go get some burger king

  • I like how the guy studying obesity, is fat himself lol.

  • I don't know how people can eat fast food, it is fucking disgusting.

  • @xxdiogenescynicxx

Yeah, if they knew what it was doing to their bodies and that every gram of fat over the recommended dosage, is a step closer to death!! All the processed food and crap that's cheap is going to kill people. The good stuff is hard to afford and when us Americans are making so little money and a lot are even unemployed, it's nearly impossible to have enough money for good stuff but you can eat off the dollar menu at a fast food restaurant and still be poor. Makes no sense, huh?

  • @pinkflutterby89 Honestly it isn't much of an excuse, I am pretty poor but I have a garden and mainly eat from there, also sometimes I will buy apples from the grocery store that are only 99 cents a pound. If you can't afford fresh fruit and vegetables at least get frozen they can be cheaper than mcdonalds dollar menu.

  • FUCK YOU NEWS, I AM 6 FOOT 5, I LOST MAD WEGHT, I RUN 3 HOURS A DAY, 5 DAYS A WEEK ! & I AM AMERICAN !

  • @ART1975CZ you forgot to mention you were a liar, your saying you run a marathon a day 120-200 miles per week, yeah nobody can do that, elite runners dont train more than 120 miles per week.

  • @yenyoo YAWN ! Maybe I Have Fool !

  • @ART1975CZ dude, elite runners peak around 100 miles per week, and they spend 5-8yrs to get there, and now you claim to run 120-200 miles per week, dude you'll be in surgery because your knees shins would tear from overtraining. I run and I follow the sport pretty closely and what you claim is similar to saying you can jump over a 15 foot fence. I know your full of shit, you know you are full of shit but probably won't admit it.

  • @yenyoo I am Gifted ! The Ladies say So ! LOL

  • @yenyoo there is only 168 hours in a week.....so that means they run and barely sleep?

  • @sabedra2000 they said 100 MINUTES!

  • it's simple, just dont eat at fast food restaurants!

  • SUE MC DONALD LOOOL

  • Eating nutritious food is not cheap! However, the cost of nutritious produce and lean meats is not likely going down anytime soon, so why not tax happy meals & pizza? If you insist on eating unhealthy food, you must pay a premium! The tax collected can at least help offset the financial burden obesity places on the health-care sector!

  • you can eat and be lazy like shit but if you don't gobble food, if you eat your shit modestly. you will be average size. don't exercise to burn fat use it to get out energy and anger -AKA america's second problem.

  • so what about ppl who buy fast food and eat out everyday. that can add up to about $30.00 or more a week. that could be 3 weeks worth of HEALTHY groceries. unhealthy foods being more expensive is just another excuse for people to keep eating it. IMO

  • @Y85colette i really dont think you buy your own groceries then. i am currently eating healthy, buying fresh vegges and fruit and lean meat and it is MUCH more expensive than when i would have a slice of pizza or chinese take out. if you think you can last 3 weeks on $30 you are crazy, unless you are on a model diet eating a banana a day or something. i just bought 5 green peppers and it was more than a whole value meal at a fast food place.

  • harharhar fat americans

  • houston we have a problem? he can make a joke in that situation?

  • dont punish me and other non fatties with a tax on foods! people need to have a little self discipline. its called a treadmill...it works!

  • Wow, kind of makes me glad working at the airport, loading 1,400 pieces of baggage a week, ten hours a day (6 days a week) out in 100 degrees and only a ten-minute water break each shift. Used to grumble about the workload and physical toll, but now I feel very thankful to be doing this.

I think if many of my coworkers can see this video, that can help them gain new moitvation and appreciation.

  • The way I see it, everyone is to blame here. The people who sell the fast food and the people who eat it.

  • lazy fat fucks

  • isnt america the richest country so why are they saying food is too expensive when they are all fat its too confusing and misleading

  • @TheUnbeatableSpartan yeah if only america wasnt 13 trillion dollars in debt.

  • @TheUnbeatableSpartan some food is expensive, some is cheap. the foods thats given alot of subsidies by the government is cheap. the food thats not is expensive. unfortunately, vegetables and fruits get little if any (except corn) so its expensive. meat gets alot so its cheap. when i shop, like a dozen chicken drumsticks is about as expensive as a bag of lettuce, 2 tomatoes and 2 peppers.

  • You can't put a tax on Junk Food because what about those who cannot afford to really shop for groceries and rely on cheap food like those at fast food restaurants.

The biggest issue is eating this stuff in moderation- once a week is pushing it, but every day? c'mon- at least cut back on the soda

  • I just find it very disgraceful that I see many so Americans nowadays having to resort to use scooter chairs get around by their time they're 40s because they're so morbidly obese, while people in Japan and Okinawa are living into their 90s healthy, energetic, and can still walk with their own legs.

  • This is awesome

  • I love how the same people who are trying to prevent obesity are fat themselves. Way to be hypocritical.

  • @hookedoncaffeine Do something yourself instead of complaining or picking on others.

  • Economics certainly has a lot to do with it. 3 or 4 generations ago, organic fruits and vegetables were cheap, while meat, cheese, and refined carb and sugary snacks were expensive. Now it's the other way around. A modest sized organic vegetable-laden meal in an natural food store with a food bar can easily set you back 12 or 13 dollars, but you can stuff your face at McDonald's for less money than you'd earn working one hour at the minimum wage.

  • i had this period when i was 14 when i suddenly changed from slim to chubby... it sorta went out of hand and i was 35 pounds overweight by the time I was 16. Now I am 19, and am slim again. Doing this was simple to be honest. Ate fruits, whole wheat bread and vegetables. Lean meats and fish. I made sure i had at least an hour of exercise a day. and I was slim again. It most certainly IS possible!!!

  • @herbivore007 exactly, minor changes like a 15-20 minute walk or if you pick good. Some fruits actually taste really good like plums and rasberrys. Even small adaptations are hard for people but its all worth the time and effort.

  • This is funny and embarrassing. Americans are lazy. We live in a fast pace environment where fast food, and microwave food are needed.

  • get off the internet and go congregate in person or something... this is what americans do when they come home from their deskjob. i hope you're walking or riding your bicycle to work.

  • The Western diet of refined and processed "foods" in a human body that is not designed for it is the main culprit........

Our body only works by eating nutritionally dense whole foods and drinking water........along with an intelligent application of anerobic resistance weight training and aerobic activity...

    the resuts are profoundly healthy....

....but until we realize we can't cheat nature we will pay the price of cronic disease and disablity throughout much of our adult life.

  • lol working out is hard work glad i dont do it and im fit

  • People need to wake the HELL up and stop being lazy, workout 30 minutes a day

  • @Bob543 I don't think that's enough.....I think 2-3 hours a day might be needed.

  • Why don't interviewers every ask obesity experts that are egregiously overweight what barriers they have to combating their own obesity issue? Moreover, taxes on food products deemed unhealthy is a waste of time if legislation doesn't preclude generated revenue from going in to a state's general fund. Generated revenue needs to be directly applied to school and worksite grant programs designed to promote (and measure) physical activity.

  • Wow! The part where it said that many Americans consume up to 500 extra calories a day! Im shocked, but not too shocked.

It only takes an extra 100 calories a day to gain 10 pounds in a year.

So 500 extra calories a day? Just Imagine!

Im glad I live a healthy lifestyle, but I wish others would be motivated to do the same, or we're in some serious trouble.

  • Stop drive-thrus.

  • Eating healthy isnt hard to do and exercising for just a half hour a day is easy. I workout everyday for an hour and a half you dont have to do that much but come on! It is sick to see and know there are so many fat people living in our country.

  • I completely agree.

A little goes a looooong way.

Like even just changing yuor eating habits without exercise can help.

Take soda drinkers. If they would replace all the soada they drink with water for one week, they could lose up to 5 pounds.

A little can go a long way.

  • Most definitely :)

  • Books like "THE FAT MYTH" sell to fat people saying that obesity isn't a HEALTH PROBLEM. People like Monique flaunt being "LARGE" women and dress makers have made normal size clothes now a "0" or "00" and a fat 170# woman wears a Size 10. THAT is what is wrong.

  • Bunch of slobs, take less carbs and sugar and get some exercise.

  • Wow
