I used to go to a Jewish bakery for apple strudel. I went during Purim, and there was no apple strudel, but they offered me a triangular cookie instead, which I happily chomped on, then went on my way home. I looked up the cookie and found that it was meant to represent Haman's ear. I ate Haman's ear. They must of lol'ed at me after I left - dumb goy that I am.

@queenahmose They keep saying his name too, even though the main object of Purim is to banish his name. I guess F. Murray's character forced a confrontation. Being a smart man, he HAD to know that. If I were as smart as he, I would have realized the harm that could be done, and unless I could defend myself I would not push the issue.

I will have to say this is the BEST Esther movie ever made. Its simple in design, but it carries the heart of the story of Esther so accurately and strongly. And who else could play Mordecai better than F. Murray Abraham? :). Thanks for posting.

A very good film. The film did not make it clear it was the Persian Kian Darius who let the people of God to return to Isreal and also he used his own money to rebuild the Temple.

Jesus is not god he said follow the message don't follow the messenger, I believe in Christianity & the original bible sent down by god, not the corrupted version we have today. Why is the original hidden away in the Vatican (Italy) & the fake widely spread around the world... God isn't a man like us, todays bible is interpreted as Jesus being god then Jesus being the son of god, very misleading. I believe Jesus was 1 of many many prophets of god sent down to earth to spread the word & message

I really love the story of Esther. It's one of my favorite books in the Bible. God is so amazing and perfect in His time to grant His people's supplications...I just love the portrayal of "One Night with the King" though...it's more romantic :-)

This movie lacks historical credibility. Esther was one of King Xerxes' favorite wives, but she was never the Queen of Persia. Sorry to disappoint you. Please refer to credible sources. Ok movie, though, it raises interest in the subject.
