Unless you bake in a tanning bed consistently for years then you probably will be ok. It's easy to detect skin cancer early. And just use your brain. Tanning is not the only reason people get skin cancer. Just like smoking isn't the only way to get lung cancer. I use a tanning bed and I'm sixteen. And even then if you do put your self at that risk it is still a very slim chance.

It's true, I had skin cancer at age 16 because of tanning. There was no history of cancer in my family's recorded medical history. :/ I wasnt even "TAN" when I tanned. I was just normal. It didnt take much.

Using a tanning bed tends to up peoples risk of skin cancer tremendously due to the fact that so many people get addicted to having a tan. Tanning became popular when I was in highschool and I can say that almopst half my graduating clas was going at least three times a week. ok i have been using tanning beds since may or 2011. and nows its december almost 2012. and i have not noticed any tanning bed skin cancer at all and i go every other day so idk what they did. they prob didnt use the bed right or stayed in to long. i go to my doctors about my skin and they said its really healthy. and no signs of cancer.

This is all false! You can not develope melanoma in one year from a tanning bed. Your bodys tan is its nature defense against the sun. PLUS Melanoma takes time. Exposure to uv rays does increase your chance of developing melanoma but you also have to take into consideration DIET, EXCERCISE, EXPOSURE TIME and FAMILY HISTORY. FACE IT most of us DO NOT EAT RIGHT or EXCERCISE and a lot of people have no common sense or patients to wait for a tan to develope. Keep your skin moise and dont sun burn

@tristanurbina23 First of all please stop shouting at me. Secondly WTF would you know about my diagnosis. Melanoma is survivable. I have had BCC's on my face AND legs FYI. I wear SPF every day. Why be so cruel? I am simply trying to warn peopl off sunbaking and solariums so that no-one has to suffer.

Yeah that sounds like 37 years of exposure to UVA, UVB and UVC radiation which are all outdoor UV rays. sunblock does not protect you from sunburning or skin cancer. FYI, a tan is your bodys natural defence against the sun. I'm not trying to be cruel, I just made a statement. If you don't want your feelings get hurt than don't go putting your self out here on you tube. Some people get skin cancer and some don't, it is, what it is!
