A soldier was shot and people are arguing about what county is better and what tactics they should or should not have used!! I guess this is an easy thing to do on Monday morning with a cup of coffee sitting in your leather high back chair in front of a computer safe in your home. The man was shot protecting the men beside him. The flag which he serves means nothing, they are all there to do the same thing and no one service is better than the other. @himoms1001 He wasn't shooting back as much because he was trying to identify the enemy. And they walk in the middle of field because the Taliban plant IED's in the tree lines and river sides because that where they know where they'll take cover and are more likely to kill someone.

Open your fucking eyes, thats where the soldiers were at the time they got ambushed, look around in this video, does it look like theres much cover around no, infact theres hardly any. So what the soldiers are trained to do is hit the deck and try and establish where the enemy fire is coming from. When they get shot at they are directly beside a massive wall, so wasn't hard to establish cover unlike this video where they are lying in a massively open area with no cover. @himoms1001 Because One person with a scope vs about 5-10 taliban would get raped. No Medic to help if he gets shot, no GPMG to supress the enemy. Patrols identify certain things like strength of a compound or the attitude of a village to tell the control the enemy has over it. You say being smart saves lives, when you say '...when one person with a fucking scope can do that.' I would trust my life with a monkey with no legs than follow your tactics.

That's not possible, unless you are the guy that plans where the patrols travel which is usually on roads(For a lot of reasons)
And as far as "Dust Lifting" this is, often times, a very dry country(s) dust is everywhere near the ground and for them Low to ground=small silhouette which = less surface to be hit-usually
