  • sooooo evocative of Madchester

  • Tip fucking Top!!

  • sonic cd brought me here

  • The best mix!!! the one i heard at the blackburn raves and the Hacienda in 1989 !!!!!

  • as the 90's music continued , split up into so many types of house music..the 1st few years were more melodic & piano riff driven ..

  • Gta sa

  • @2MuchGanja this isnt the gta sa version.

  • Sonic CD, D.A Garden anyone? x3

  • 23 yrs ago and i still get an e kick from this one...who said it was all about the drugs......

  • yea this is awesome

  • correct me if this one is the first version, i get this mix at Xmas 1989, imo the best version.

  • It was on either License to Thrill or Blizzard of Ahhs.

  • I remember hearing this on some skiing or snowboard video back in the day. Thanks!

  • during my snowboard downhill, freeride is only in the music I love most

I feel the master of the bIG mountain

  • Fuck you Warner. You can't take our music.

  • I dont get kids music was just at Dubstep night was thinking was my music this as meaningless i dont think so and it wasnt on a fucking laptop.Raindance twas fun .

  • This tune go's out to my very old and dear friend Cheeky from Margate kent, remember the vintage Bentley, the girls, the Champagne, the Ferry, then the drive to Amsterdam, we certainly were not rich or spoilt kids, we just got very very lucky for a short while in the dying days of the 1980's, man, they were some times.....................

  • Massive sound many flying times to this ,what a time we all had

  • So glad someone took the time and effort to get the original on here. You have my gratitude and grins!!!!

  • thanks, this is the original and best version of a classic

  • Comment removed

  • on the fucking moterways rushing my face of on CALLIES proper sweeties candy flavor yum yum

  • this was tha shit in tha 90's in NYC.

  • fucking awesome tune bring back happy days being off me tits lol

  • ...totally awesome yet a real haunting sound, the original '808 state' was the best--'get ready to go clubbing record' ever! Pure Genius! Thanx.

  • ..oh yes, bringing back memories in an evocative way! Such mindblowingly fun.

..clubbing and flirting----those were the days!!

  • great brings back so many good times :-)

  • Representin Manchester, the REAL capital of England...back in the day, this was one of Broadway's signature tracks...

  • SF UR :D

  • There are so many 808 variants, but I regard '808 Pacific State' as the definitive.

  • The absolute best version - Original and Real!!!!!!!!!

A huge thank you for posting ;-)

  • Best dance tune ever made

  • diehard

  • fcukin ell, us oldies were proper spoiled for music back in the day

  • An English person made this music people danced .Wouldnt happen now its a brilliant piece of music.

  • i think this is better than all the remixes ive heard.

  • Love this - thanks!

  • i went to a house night at a local club the other nite, not one outstanding tune played allnite, whats happend to house music these days? i remember an out pouring of emotion when great tracks got played, dont bother going to Delicious at the brewery bar in whitstsable its shite.

  • Takes me right back, god I'm so grown up now!!! Thanks for uploading

  • one of the very best house tunes EVER. nice work fella

  • this used to rock the Blackburn warehouse parties in 89...this and Lil Luois' Blackout. I'll never forget 89-90...sorry kids but you've got your scene and we had ours, but we were first! One house nation under a groove, no iTunes, or Pete Tong, if yu wanted these tunes only 2 shops in Manchester had them...and only one radio show played house for an hour a week (Stu Allen's House Hour anyone?)...proper underground, not trendy-student-indie-shit, not a 'hipster' in site, it was 'ours' :)

  • @konspiracykid I'm only 21 and I love all this sort of music, all that pete tong stuff is dreadful! this tune is fucking timeless!

  • @2pintsprick Respec too you !!!!!

  • @konspiracykid This is the mix of the week,so get your tapes ready. What a show man.

  • The originla and best. Love the clanky percussion...tribal maaaan

  • dove dancing xx

  • Stardust Speedway good future

  • Aw yeah, this is the shit man i use to be at the warehouse dancing my ass off to this track every weekend. Chi-Town in a storm! Hell Yeah!! Thanks for the post.

  • was a nipper when i heard this was heaven.

  • Shades of Rhythm - Summer of 89 - compliments this track... similar feeling and tempo.

  • Love this track...the original version...its the one that got me into the rave scene back in 89. This so reminds me of Mash Mash down Oxford Street, massive floor speaker pumping out tunes like this by the DJ in the basement...buying 12"' ..buying tops for the next rave...collecting the rave flyers...happy days..

  • @robackenson You were a part of a magical musical creation. I got into the scene in Toronto a little late in '94-'95, but the music (house, techno, trance, breaks) changed my life. For the better. Peace.

  • music for the soul =0)

  • Whether it be the present, past,or future this is one House trax thats in a class of its own truly amazing.

  • please please i dont understand how this tune gets 2 dislikes.....did they mistake it for the download link ??? either that or they are def, dumb and blind !!

  • @hotcaramelboi ....same! just amazing!

  • do you have a link to upload his dicographie?

  • one of the best records ever

  • The first time i heard this track was in the Sound Factory back in the spring of 1990...it had to be around 11am Junior mixed this to "bang the party" the crowd went nuts. Those where the good old days house music was truly at its peak. It will never be the same again.....

  • @ceasar1216 11 am? An all-nighter? man, they take me back. Respect.

  • @TroyConvers5000 I wish everyone would stop saying "Back in the day this and back in the day that".I was and still am a DJ,i would have done anything for those dayz to go on and on,but i have such wonerful memories of one family under a roof or in a field. Thanks to the old bill and fucking greedy promoters the scene faded.People of today will never experience what we did then, but never say never,it might just come back, most things do. Peace,Brothers and Sisters................Bradley Jay...xx

  • I can not thankyou enough for posting this! I have been trying to figure who did this song since 1989 it was on a house music mix tape that I absolutely loved and than lost. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou!!!

  • @bubbahchops

You're welcome - glad you enjoy it so much!

  • @bubbahchops I have this problem with loads of chooon's that i hear but cant find the name and one thing i have figured out is .....it always comes to you in the end.......i had the same problem with this choon, One of the best tracks out there from the early dance age.

  • @bubbahchops it took you 22 years to find this ,you need to get out more mate!!!

  • @bubbahchops ...I hear ya! I felt the same way about "Koro-Koro" by No Smoke...Puts you in the zone! ..Ya know, back in like '90 they had a pay-per-view video channel on Time Warner in NYC. "Pacific State" played dozens of times by countless viewers. . Ahhhh...God bless you guys

  • I appreciate these guys so much. They have had a great influence over me for more than 20 years.

  • I remember the night that Jeff young (or was it tong ?) first played this. Mesmerising.

Quality night (and next day) proudly display the photos from that night on the wall.

That was 22yrs ago now and still feels like yesterday

  • The comment thread in here is gold.

  • 808 one of my favorite groups back in the day.

  • I first heard this on WKKC in Chicago and have been hooked ever since.. Something about those horns brings you to a happy sad.

  • Numba 1

  • A real classy blast from the past, hugs and ice pops all round

  • So So love this tune. never will it be beaten

  • @kevinroxburgh1 Without tampering, this music would have never existed. It was tampering and 'sampling' that gave birth to house and as a result, this track among many others. Having said that, in this situation I also prefer the original.

  • Wow, just brill x

  • Clossed your eyes and listening the melody

  • best tune ever out of mcr?

  • Call of The Common Loon.

  • This is/was THE version. Great track!

  • ORIGINAL

  • a timeless classic,real house,proper house,sorely missed house!

  • ohhhhh yessss mmmmmmmmmm :-)

  • The Loon is the most used bird in music I think. Must have an awesome agent.

  • ~22 yrs later and still LOVING IT~always a positive vibration~always a smile~pEace ॐ

  • Fuck! I just feel so blessed. 21yo - Hacienda one night, Thunderdome the next - these guys used to make that place kick. Used to have this version on vinyl too. Thx 4 uploading.

  • @1010joseph68 thunderdome forever

  • @TheCarbonfiend YES YES YES the 'Dome! Wearden's weirdness, the Spinmasters of 808 state used to DJ there on a Friday, as I remember. heady days. THE DOME, KONSPIRACY, SHELLEY'S, SHABOO, BLACKBURN WAREHOUSE PARTIES, THE HOUSE, QUADRANT PARK, THE SOUNDGARDEN RIP. Gone but not forgotten. And I'm sorry kids but the Hacienda was shite. Too many poseurs in late 89/90. (awaits lawsuit)

  • On BET,"HouseVibes" I have one of the remixes on VHS. This 1 has a "jazzier" house sound to it. also has a female vocal chorus-line to it.

  • I was the grand old age of 18 when this came out - and I took my first acid trip - holy mary, thank you god.

  • In my room. Myself. Dance party. Early,early electronic. Wow! Wow! Wow! {{using mind control/ / /listen}}

  • a brilliant breaking track i played this till i wore it out great to hear again still fresh

  • Close your eyes hold your arms wide by your side and imagine yourself in ibiza

  • The original is the best!! They should NEVER attempt to remix this EVER AGAIN!

  • Absolute classic and my ultimate favourite track of all times - I can actual remember going into a record shop and hearing this being played and asking what it was.....when he told me I had to have it, and it was the copy they were playing! Heavenly track that makes me melt each and every time I hear it.

  • by far one of the most beautifully crafted house tracks i've ever heard. this is perfection.

  • Ahhhh! What a tune! So many memories! ;-)

  • I could live with this tune. I dont need company - : )

  • Utter class.

  • Fat Sams Dundee - 1989 - good days...

  • Every time I hear this song, it reminds me of Grand Theft Auto, San Andreas. It was the best game I ever played. I played it for almost 3 years. Good times.

This also reminds me of past memories not related to this song at all; kind of like when you see or hear something you get a happy/sad feeling. Like old friends, books, games, movies, TV shows, etc.

Bottom line- This song is my favorite and always will be.

  • The original is the best... Love the ambience! DJ GMan T of Newark, NJ

  • Please please...this is NOT a remix. This is the only version that ever mattered. The original. Pre sell out.

  • Waaaaaayyyyyyyy gooooooooood........!!!!!!!!!!

  • Legends Manchester,,,Good ole times.....

  • TUNEAGE!

  • Yo! Who remembers 'Legends' in Manchester? this was an absolute anthem then! and who remembers the dance crew ''Fusion Beat' - when this tune came on in Legends, all of the 'ok' fusion dancers (including myself) would immediately walk off the dance floor and dance around the sides coz everyone knew that Fusion Beat' would be coming on. Really nice guys too, I learnt so much from them, to be good at what you do, but humble at the same time - god bless you guys wherever you are. Peace

  • @tingling72 I was in legends when this was out, from partington and alti all us girls, I rememeber well, stu allen used to dj there, and rememeber twin hype do it to the crowd getting hammered..remember the all nighters and goin hulme to the blues parties, til 7am...in the flats ...........good times,,,,now its a gay club apparently....
