walking down the street t'other night, i heard a familiar jangly rhythm booming out of a bicyclista bar. stopped me right in my tracks until i recognized thisincredible song being played REAL loud. walked in i spied the dj dancing his ass off by himself in the booth mouthing the words. it reminded me of the how i used to listen to this song on repeat for days. i walked up to the booth and thanked the dude, he gave me a 'i understand' look and kept on dancing. awesome.
Yeah, they were sort of like Yo La Tengo in that they could be great or terrible live. Course I have to admit that based on seeing them just two times. :) And the terrible time was right before they broke up. So...
True. They should have been indie peers with BuiltTS. I've practically wore out all my Unrest tapes. Saw them at the off ramp in Seattle Circa 91 and it sucked. still love them however. nobody really gets it. thanks for posting.
I got turned on to these guys through my Velocity Girl fixation (Bridget Cross) and havent heard much but this stuff sounds really nice. This band seems like a well kept secret.
Unrest were such a wonderful band. With songs like this they really should have gotten recognition on a level with their indie rock peers like Built to Spill and Pavement.
omg that drummer is my english teacher, can't believe it.
Mr Krauth is sooo cool.

I have always thought this was Unrest's best song, the acoustic version is even better. Very nice post.
