@sdlew41 ZZ Top has long used sequencers (bits and pieces of guitar sounds) in their live performances, which I have no problem with. However, you have misinterpreted what occurred here. Billy often plays the frets with his left hand while not striking the strings with his right - check out recent live performances of "I Need You Tonight" where he plays the entire solo on the frets only. Same thing here.
@sdlew41 its called hammering the strings. that means playing the frets only by hammering and sliding the fingers and not strumming with the other hand. easy to do with an electric guitar with high distortion and volume. and this is not lip synced

And please nobody get upset at me for saying that he lip syncs this one song, it's pretty commonly known with fans. All the other songs are 100 percent live!

@bettset Yeah, it's the vocal track from the original studio song if you listen closely. That's why he's always so close to the microphone. But the music is always live, and none of the other songs are lip-synced. ZZ Top is one of my absolute favourite bands, and I definitely don't mind Billy faking their biggest hit if he just can't sing it anymore.
