at a minute or so in, when they start talking about the boy scout knives, I have to agree. I'm an Eagle Scout, and I don't see the knife as a weapon anymore. It's nothing more than a tool for me.

the problem is that there are absolute abusive and horrific parents who think that they do parent right, so an outside source should come in to check and/or save the kids because abuse is the root problem of so much in the world!!!

the kids need to be raised with good parents, however, its the job of the parents to know themselves well enough to judge wether or not theyre suitable. It is not the job of social services to prejudge people as parents, because that will inevitably split down class lines. The problem is that parents need to know wether they are suitable to raise kids

Speaking from outside the UK, when I used to hear an actor speaking Gerry Adams' parts on BBC radio, I thought it was bizarre. You still heard what he had to say -- didn't matter if someone else spoke the words. I'm not sure that he was going to change minds in either directions anyhow. People knew what they believed about the IRA either pro or con, and hearing him speak wouldn't change that.
