Is Journey the same without him? Hell no, but then again, Perry isn't shit without Journey either. It is what it is........the band had some awesome songs but the band run it's course and now, it's over..............move on.

HUGE Perry fan, but here's my take...the new guy (AP) can sing fine and he's young and got energy BUT, when I listen to him "mimic" Steve's versions of the old songs we love, where's the passion, emotion, feel for the song???? You can try to imitate that, but it just isn't the same. I can't listen to it, makes me literally sick. Also, gotta say it...THE STAGE PRESENCE...Perry was sexy as H___, and that's TOTALLY gone. Sorry, but Journey was just a GREAT back up band for Steve Perry!

The guy they found to replace Perry is amazing and a very nice seeming fellow. His vocals are good and sound 90% or even more like Perry. The problem for me is not if Arnel can exactly duplicate Perry, but whether or not "Journey" can or ever will write any more great songs of their own to perform. Hi Perryswoman, I am British and quite agree that Journey should remain an all American band. However, saying that it wouldn't matter who replaced Steve Perry, or what nationality they were, Journey will never sound as good again as Steve Perry made them into the stadium sellout band they became and to be honest I don't want to hear others trying to sing his songs.

I still remember this song topping the Japan's FM radio hitchart for some 10 weeks in a row!

For sure, Steve Perry is not everything about this outstanding rock band of the '70-'80. But to my opinion, Journey without Steve or Neil is no longer the Journey

Journey's albums did not do as well after perry left because he was the front man. That didn't mean he was everything, it's just that all the young teenieboppers that loved him left with him, which does a number on sales. Not to mention, any band without their front man won't be doing as well as they did. Take Queen for example. On the other hand, AC/DC :)

Yes. A well restored 71 'Cuda could cost you about $60k. My cousins Cuda was orange, but since it was left to me after his death, I paint it black. The first time, Steve wanted a break and that's why their Raised on Radio tour never really got off the ground. The second time, he hurt his hip hiking. Steve needed surgery but the band did not want to wait any longer for a decision to have surgery, so they picked up Steve Augeri. Steve has done work as a backup vocalist on other albums since 1998. As for replacing Arnel, this is also a rumor. Neal regularly blogs, no mention of that in his recent blogs.

Neal might have been a good guitar player but the group was going no where and their record company was going to drop them because they couldn't sell a record. Actually no it is "They tore another page." And my source I used is the Journey Escape book for Piano, Vocals and Chords and it has the songs from the Escape album in it and also, if you have the Escape album or CD it includes the lyrics and it says "They tore another page." Even to this day with UnJourney's latest CD, Journey fans who are buying it are not happy and are going back to buy Steve Perry/Journey era CDs.
