It's so wonderful,so sublime,it's like waking up alone during Christmas morning,no love,no one,no hope...just emptiness,a lonely house,and lots of snow outside...children playing in the snow with their new toys...when i listen to this song i can think of the perfect desolation...
@kdreamland I know she says that at the cemetery. "I'm looking for my mama, I mean my mother.". Also "Promise (Reprise)" plays when Angela is in the apartment room thinking of suicide with the knife. And finally, "Theme of Laura (Reprise)" Plays when she is at the hotel with the flaming staircase (which is very sad by the way). Now that I think about it, how the hell did she get over there? Seriously, there was no other boat at the dock to the hotel!

Also you're right; that staircase is a glimpse of her "Silent Hill" and it's odd but... when you go through the door that leads to the room, it's actually suppose to lead to the staircase to the 1st floor but it leads to the burning staircase; yet going through the same door after leads to the staircase that was originally there. So the burning staircase was in a parallel dimension?? Weird
@Rukaio3 i dont know about parallel dimension, but if you think about how laura has been able to roam around town without a scratch on her - each character experiences it in a different way.
there is no proof she died, its just interpretation.
@Te4RHyP3 Yeah but notice that James, Angela, and Eddie have a tombstone in the catacomb in the labyrinth (before Eddie boss). Maria and Laura don't have a tomb and they both don't have last names. So I think Maria and Laura were created from James's sub-conscious. Maria is the part of Mary James always wanted and Laura is the part of Mary that James did not enjoy. Also in "Born from a Wish" Maria mentions Laura and then questions how she knows her. But I could be very wrong.
@Te4RHyP3 Very true my friend, and that's what makes this series very amazing. Everyone has their own perpetration of this game and it's meanings. Someone can see the whole game as just a big dream and others into something that is deeper. So deep that it can be very complex. So all in all, this game makes you think a lot and everyone knows that thinking is good. :D
A few years ago two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to see if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said "Get the kids and get out of the house, we'll call the police we don't have a clown statue". The "clown statue" was actually a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this on 10 videos tonight the clown will be in your bed at 3:00am with a chainsaw in his hand. Sorry don't want this to happen to me
It's 5 AM right now and im watching the sun rise while listening to this....such a beautiful moment.....and YES....if you were all wondering....i stayed up all night listening to Silent Hill music!! xD The sky is all purple and pink!!! @_@
@xxxKiyorakaTenshixxx Yes, The thing about Silent Hill soundtracks are that if you listen to them, and you like them, you can't really stop, Akira did a really good job with these, Me and my friends have fallen asleep while listening to this, It promotes snoring don't let it happen, I've found myself up to the early hours of the morning listening to SH Soundtracks. This track in particular, It's like a musical drug sometimes and it's a shame some of them are so short. (I blab, sorry.)

I'm so sad and even sickened that Akira Yamaoka and Mary Elizabeth McGynn aren't doing Silent Hill Downpour....it's like something just tore out my heart and soul and crushed it into tiny pieces....pieces so small you need a microscope to see them!!! But on another note, it IS a shame they are so short...I want to keep listening to them but then it's over and i'm like -__-

this is very haunting and beautiful. makes me feel like i'm in a vacant forest and feeling the mild breeze in the air with a feeling that something evil is waiting for me..
I see a prism, a bright glistening light of all the memories I have, the times I spent with the ones I love, it's all speeding by me, despite my effort to try and stop it... they ring like church bells in the chasm of my mind, echoing into the distance. It's so relaxing, such a loveable euphoria to know you've had those great times. That's when you realize that they're nothing but memories, unobtainable by any means, and only there to give you hope in the now shattered world that exists today.
Akira Yamaoka's compositions are unlike any other. Really penetrating stuff that can be brutally harsh and terrifying or surreal, soft and melodic.
Back when I lived in courtenay, during the fall we had intense fog in which I would walk along the roads and listen to these tracks. You could only see about 20 yards around and with the music gave everything an illusionary dream like quality. Brings me back every time I listen.
"I'm a little.. er... lost." "....Lost...?" "Yeah." "Well there's a lot of fog but there's only one road that leads to the town, it's not hard to miss. But I wouldn't go there if I were you." "Why? ... is it... Dangerous?" "Yeah.. well... I don't know. But bad things happen there." "I'M NOT LYING YOU KNOW?" "No, it's not that I don't believe you, it's just... I don't really care if its' dangerous or not... I'm going to town either way."I like this scene.
If you guys like this soundtrack. I strongly recommend you go search an album called Repeating Yesterday by David Scott. All the songs sound like Silent Hill 2 and are Instrumental. Id throw a hundred bucks down just to bet he got some inspiration from Akira.
Interesting that this franchise,in special this impressiva soundtrack can channel us to experiences in basis to emotions.To me this is pure masterpiece of Akira.This 2nd second isn´t count the action or stuff,is the feeling of being amushed of your own feelings,in this case James,with ones who suffered to.And that this game connect us in some way from that feelings,for me is so interesing see this atmosphere so well crafted in the story.Good game.
@1StopMusic So you gonna love the game, cuz' the game are the soundtracks, I mean!!! Akira is a genius besides a composer! Its not the he are very skilled with music, or the best composer of all time, is just nobody could do a better soundtrack for this game, Akira took the melodies for this game from his soul!
Why not listen to this with "rainymood (dot) com"... It gives the song that rain noise that makes it twice better and a million times more relaxing...

This brings back memories of when my pet ghost died. He was really just a floating penis who was very annoying. His name was Dickleson, but he was my Dickleson. One day him and I we were driving around in death valley and he just ran away, out of the car, because it wasn't moving. I looked for so long. It took me 23 years to find his dead body, right where he got out of the car. It just occurred to me that I had never looked there. I wondered why he ran, then I knew. He didnt like his ghost life
@tongofication so he went back to his dead physical body, to ascend to heaven or hell. I wasn't sure which he would go to. He told me of the things he did in his life. His successes and failures. He was a criminal, a poor man out of a job stealing from stores and raping the rich. He seemed so kind though. His hands had a hard... but soft touch. I couldn't ever imagine him wanting to hurt anybody, which is ironic because he's a throbbing dick. No pun intended. I loved that dick....
This brings memories. It brings me so many things. I remember all my mistakes, all my loved ones. I feel like...I'm the Toluca Forest...just sitting in the fog. In the cemetary. Gazing upon the graves of those who've passed. I feel innocent and peacful.
I love you, Akira Yamaoka. And everyone who has worked on a SH track.
This song, it brings back so much. My lost love who's gone forever now, it's been so long and yet the pain seems to always feel so fresh. this song rips through me so easily and brings out everything I can't hold inside.
Angela represents hopelessness of James and most likely the raping father gives us a hint to why James became a murderer, may be as a child James was traumatized by the dad.

Same here this brings back memories of my father and the 5 years our family spent with having to take care of him and then his passing. But I am glad this song allows for me to bring back the positive times during those years even though we all suffered so much to the point of breaking down and just wanting to cry like I still want to sometimes even after the passing of my father. Kinda shows how much emotion and care was placed into these songs. Akira Yamaoka really did his part in SH series.
@reveriehill1614 Its wierd the songs in this game seem to give the same feeling to anyone who listens no matter who it is. I bet gang member in Chicago would feel the same as a member of Al Queda if they listened to it.

This song was played when you first met Angela in the beginning. It is my favorite song off of the whole album, the whole series even. It's beautiful; I feel nostalgic and sober every time I listen to it.
what a wonderful song...one time i put this tune on my cellphone for the alarm clock and when the alarm was turned on, instead of wake up i begin to dream about fog, a town and i was dying in my dream...that was the very poof that this tune is really the fog at the forest...yamaoka really made an awesome job with this and every silent hill games...

the room where you last see her does not exist.
nothing in the hotel was on fire, it was simply a glimpse into what her silent hill was like.

Its not the he are very skilled with music, or the best composer of all time, is just nobody could do a better soundtrack for this game, Akira took the melodies for this game from his soul!

This brings back memories of when my pet ghost died. He was really just a floating penis who was very annoying. His name was Dickleson, but he was my Dickleson. One day him and I we were driving around in death valley and he just ran away, out of the car, because it wasn't moving. I looked for so long. It took me 23 years to find his dead body, right where he got out of the car. It just occurred to me that I had never looked there. I wondered why he ran, then I knew. He didnt like his ghost life

@tongofication so he went back to his dead physical body, to ascend to heaven or hell. I wasn't sure which he would go to. He told me of the things he did in his life. His successes and failures. He was a criminal, a poor man out of a job stealing from stores and raping the rich. He seemed so kind though. His hands had a hard... but soft touch. I couldn't ever imagine him wanting to hurt anybody, which is ironic because he's a throbbing dick. No pun intended. I loved that dick....

Angela represents hopelessness of James and most likely the raping father gives us a hint to why James became a murderer, may be as a child James was traumatized by the dad.

Same here this brings back memories of my father and the 5 years our family spent with having to take care of him and then his passing. But I am glad this song allows for me to bring back the positive times during those years even though we all suffered so much to the point of breaking down and just wanting to cry like I still want to sometimes even after the passing of my father. Kinda shows how much emotion and care was placed into these songs. Akira Yamaoka really did his part in SH series.

This song was played when you first met Angela in the beginning. It is my favorite song off of the whole album, the whole series even. It's beautiful; I feel nostalgic and sober every time I listen to it.

what a wonderful song...one time i put this tune on my cellphone for the alarm clock and when the alarm was turned on, instead of wake up i begin to dream about fog, a town and i was dying in my dream...that was the very poof that this tune is really the fog at the forest...yamaoka really made an awesome job with this and every silent hill games...
