why we cant see 3D galaxies? it would be cool if nasa makes some side view of galaxy. and in a book i have, theres a thing why its called milky way. i dont remember but its something like this:

Our galaxy is called the Milky Way. I don't remember why it's called that. Probably some greek legend.

Correct. From the Greek word "γαλαξίας" (galaxias in Latin), which in turn had entered Latin as "Via Lactea" (milky way literally) and then into English as galaxy and Milky Way.

Their are almost a trillion stars in our galaxy alone. The sun is just one of those stars and the Nearest star to it is 4 1/2 lightyears away. Their are almost 600 billion galaxies in the known universe and the nearest galaxy to us (the Milky Way) is almost 3 million lightyears away.

Actually the nearest galaxy to us is called Andromeda OUR Galaxy is called "The Milky Way" Also Andromeda is 2 Million Light yrs away. In approx. 3 Billion years the two galaxies are projected to collide with one another

Actually, you're both wrong. The nearest galaxies to us are the Small and Large Magellenic Clouds, which are irregular galaxies some 150,000 light-years away or so. Andromeda is 3 million light-years distant in comparison. Also, there are an estimated 200 to 400 billion stars in our Milky Way galaxy--a far cry from a trillion my friend.

They are satellite swarf galaxies. Some people call them galaxies but I ment the nearest full galaxy.

I have heard a few estimate say a trillion or so. I actually believe about 400 billion..maybe allitle more.
