  • tss Festivale still the best looking ship when you look at her in the water. Ships today are bigger and glitzier, but none as stately. Go back and look at the Festivale's lines compared to the "box" shape of the ships of today. What a beauty. Worked for CCL from 1979 -1982 and again on the Holiday in 87.

  • No offences but you left out Mardi gras, Celebration,Victory,Legend Valor Inspiration, and a few others but Good job.

  • i worked with carnival for 13 years they just send me home without no reason no good company but thanks be to god all that is behind me now to god be the glory

  • At 1:20 thats the Sensation not the Fantasy

  • First Mardi Gras.

    Then Carnivale

    Then Festivale

    Then Tropicale

    Then Holiday

    Then Celebration

    Then Jubilee

    Then Fantasy...

    and so on

  • The first one was mardi gras

  • Thanks for the effort...though your timeline of ship debutes are totally off.

  • In August of 1995 my mother, sister, brother, Grandmother and I, went on a cruise onboard the Holiday to Catalena Island and Mexico. She was just re base to Los Angeles. Sadly my father had to work so he could not go. When the ship left the pier, they first played Ackers Away then they played Kathy Lee If You Could See Me Now ( The old carival theme) It was fun.

  • Carnival repeats so many aspects of all it's ships on so many of it's brands they've become quite boring. A company that launches so many ships none of the new builds generate any more excitement. I equate Carnival with Walmart, all the same designs found in any port in the country. More is better with Carnival..I don't associate them with quality, or their brands.

  • Mom used to take me to port everglades in Florida and i would stand right next to mardi gras ;) 1st ship memories for me ;)

  • Im so glad you showed the original ships! Luv that song, too!

And sad about the Festivale.. Sorry I wasnt part of the fun that went on on that boat!!

  • The Festival Rocked! Literally as well. Good times though

  • My first cruise was on the Festivale. It was a great ship. You can still see it on Google Earth. 26°31'16.65"N 78°45'59.16"W . It was scrapped in Alang India in 2001 or 2002.

  • thx the triumph was b4 the conquest tho

  • Before the Festivale..was the "Mardi Gras"..which by the way was the first one. and then "Carnivale".
