Hello Mike. I have an 11yr old that plays like a 20yr old. I want to get these for him. I know nothing about sticks. He likes 7a. He says he likes the way they feel in his hand. He use to use 5as but they would break often. The 7as seem to last longer for him. I will post a vid reponse. Check him out and tell me if you think these sticks will work for him and I will get him some. I want him to have the best available. I value your opinion. He looks at your vid often.
I went to guitar center about a week ago and told the guys there about the sticks and they were like "na we don't have em" but I told them to order them for me. Got them today and DAYUM is the maple stick light as hell! You nailed it when you said what these different woods are for, there is a huge difference. I've got a new favorite stick!

hey mike, i love the stick, it feels great but the tip on the one i use in my right hand that plays the cymbals broke and chipped pretty fast. i dont know how you could even fix that or if you could, but i just gotta keep buyin them :-). good job as always, thanks mike
Hey Mike, just picked up a pair of these in Maple today from my local shop. My first impressions of this is awesome! I love the diameter of the stick. This is the first pair of maple sticks I have used, and so far i love it. Good job with this stick!

Hey, Mike! Just wanted to say thank you for creating such an amazing stick! I actually got to try them at Guitar Center today, and when i did, i loved them right away. Incredibly comfortable, well-balanced... Perfect stick. I bought 3 pairs of hickory and one of maple right away, and i will continue to buy them. It's now my go-to stick from now on!
U hit the nail on the head man. 5A's are a little light for my rock stuff, and being a working rock drummer, 5B's are a little too heavy for those all day practices. I think I might order 1 pair of maple and 4 of hickory. Btw, thx for all you do, I'm a percussion major in college and although the drum teachers and music teachers at the college are great, u teach MANY things I'm not learning elsewhere!

Been a few years now since I took lessons from you at Skip's. I have a hard time devoting my life to drums because I also love guitar and piano, but I've been drumming a lot more lately. It's funny that you said 5A's are too thin and 5B's are too thick. Those are the two sticks I use, and I totally agree with you on the feel of both! Hey Mike, not exactly related to your signature sticks, but do you have any drum and bass lessons? There is a video on youtube by ddrum750 of you doing some, and i saw the style was available on your website, but when i try to click on it, it comes up with an error message, saying no lessons are available.
I'm looking forward to trying this stick! I've used the Travis Barker signature stick since I tried it. I can't even remember how long anyway, I thoroughly enjoy each of your videos and learn something every time. If your stick can give me a little more control and response without me feeling like I'm going to break it just by playing a couple tunes, you'll have a buyer for life. Not to sound terribly cheesy, but playing with sticks designed by a master drummer as yourself would be an honor!

@dumadave10 the sugar maple is for playing quieter like in quieter venues and what not because they are lighter and have less of an impact. the hickory sticks are for louder settings like in a live setting. I pre-ordered both

just placed my order for the hickory sticks. cant wait to try em out. i've used vater marching sticks before and didn't like them. this was mainly because they were an instructor of mine's prototype in a corps. but anyway, first set of set sticks from them and can't wait to try em

hey guys! i'm kinda sad right now, so i'm going to look on the drum community for support. i told a person that i'm a drummer and he laughed and said drum =/= instrument, just fancy time keeping device. i tried to explain about classical drums and latian, and funk + fusion, showed him solos by beny greb and terry bozio, and yeah... he still laughed. the reason i was put down by this is because drums is my life, and when someone says that about something you love, you don't feel great....=(

hey mike, i live in the U.A.E and the showrooms over here haven't even heard of vater drumsticks, but they have the practice pads- such irony...
so could tell them to make some signature shipments including yours to the U.A.E, because personally, i too prefer vater more than anything mate...

Hey Mike, not exactly related to your signature sticks, but do you have any drum and bass lessons? There is a video on youtube by ddrum750 of you doing some, and i saw the style was available on your website, but when i try to click on it, it comes up with an error message, saying no lessons are available.

I'm looking forward to trying this stick! I've used the Travis Barker signature stick since I tried it. I can't even remember how long anyway, I thoroughly enjoy each of your videos and learn something every time. If your stick can give me a little more control and response without me feeling like I'm going to break it just by playing a couple tunes, you'll have a buyer for life. Not to sound terribly cheesy, but playing with sticks designed by a master drummer as yourself would be an honor!

Mike, is there any way we can get a deal on buying like a pack of 6 or 12 sticks? I know as a fact I'll like them because I've been using Vater sticks (and often fusions) before you mentioned it. And... I've had the exact same complaints for the most part.

Okay Mike, you told me it is available, I called and they said they would only buy a 12-Pair Pack from Vater and not a single or double pack...
I dont have 140+ Euros to finance the 12-pair pack =(

@dumadave10 the sugar maple is for playing quieter like in quieter venues and what not because they are lighter and have less of an impact. the hickory sticks are for louder settings like in a live setting. I pre-ordered both

hey guys! i'm kinda sad right now, so i'm going to look on the drum community for support. i told a person that i'm a drummer and he laughed and said drum =/= instrument, just fancy time keeping device. i tried to explain about classical drums and latian, and funk + fusion, showed him solos by beny greb and terry bozio, and yeah... he still laughed. the reason i was put down by this is because drums is my life, and when someone says that about something you love, you don't feel great....=(
