The G1 in my opinion was a hideous phone. The interface, keyboard, camera, etc. looked awful. The iPhone was miles ahead. However, a newer Google Phone, the Nexus One, I thought it looked awesome. Live wallpapers, that cool gray/silver theme, 5MP camera, colored trackball, etc... I really liked it :P

I own a nexus one and it's funny to look back on these videos as the iphone scurries to catch up to the platform android has grown to be. The iphone is still a great phone, but it's OS and hardware are incrementally getting better while the android platform has made leaps in both the OS, Android Market for apps, features, and it's hardware. Makes me wonder what will happen by the end of 2011.

There is a virtual keyboard on the G1, portrait and landscape! you have to set up the settings on the phone to have a landscape and portrait keyboard! GET IT RIGHT CNET!!!!!!!!

The G1 has no potential to be "sexy" though. LOL. In all aspects, the G1 is like a Casio point and shoot camera with a bunch of photo effects, while the iphone is a more sophisticated Nikon digital SLR. Refined and does its job with better quality.
