The show was as good at any time as the talent in front and behind the camera. '92-'96 (Bob geldof era) GENIUS. 96-96 Rik and Sharon (awful), 97-01 Johnny and Denise (GREAT) 01 till end (Richard Bacon - most unfunny asshole ever - worst era of show).

Just watched parts 1-17, thanks for posting.

Although theshow got a bit ropey in the middle of the 10 years with some truly awful presenters, it was an institution and launched some great careers.

Truly missed.

The Big Breakfast was one of those shows which had so much potential locked into it, but was somehow very difficult to get the combination right to release it.

It's amazing how many people continue to miss it. Breakfast TV is so empty now without it. Nothing else will ever fill its shoes.

No idea. I don't even remember Good Friday being a holiday for schoolies if I'm honest. Catholic Schools may of had the day off, but I'm pretty sure we never. I could be wrong, though... it was seven years ago, afterall.

A gutting loss to british television and a horrendously stupid mistake by Channel 4 ending the Big Breakfast after it had put them firmly on the map as a breakfast television provider. Wonderful till the very end, The Big Breakfast was a marvellous programme which has bee much imitated but never equalled. I remember it from the early daysbut particularly remember it from the Vaughan/Van Outen era till the end. Nothing has been made like this since, a terrible loss to television as a medium.

I don't really think we can lay blame on one place, it had been around for 9+ years, and eventually some things just lose popularity.

I still think mornings are a lot less fun these days, though :(

I cant believe i just cryed at the end of that. I SO miss the big breakfast! If theres a god it needs to come back! So much better then the stuffy suited bcc or crappy polictly correct gmtv! your so right, ch.4 made the stupidist mistake by axeing it, and bb were right, the show that filled their slot didnt last 10 yrs, barely lasted 10 mins(rise).
