i use black cloud 3" # 4's out of a hand me down browning pump with a modified choke, no scarring of my barrel no tragedy's to speak of. In California we are only allowed to use steel, if there's a better shell i'd like to try it????

the kicks high flyer is already made for steel shot so the xtra full is like a full with lead i asked them about that because i got a full choke so your fine it tells you what they recomend on the web site. with a factory choke it wouldnt be a good idea tho

i use the high flyer X-Full choke with 3 1/2 federal steel but no the black cloud i heard it fouls up your barrel like messes it up bc of the flite stopper shot anyone heard of that?

The flight stopper doesn't mess up your barrel, the X-full does. Steel is allot harder than lead and therefore doesn't compress so the pressure at the end of the barrel is greater causing malfunction. I wouldn't shoot anything bigger than #2's out of a modified.  If using bigger shot use an improved cylinder

Honestly, I cant see any use for an extra full for any duck hunting situation. Remember when shooting steel, its like upping your choke size one restriction. So an IC with steel is like a modified with lead. I don't know anything about the high flyer but with the rem chokes it doesn't recommend anything bigger than #4's out of a full choke. You only need a few pellets to kill a duck anyway. With that choke, you'll destroy a decoying duck. With steel, velocity is what's important

The only reason I can think of for shooting that much choke is to make very long shots, but studies have shown that even #1's and #2's are not lethal on ducks past 65 yards. Therefore you would have to shoot BB or bigger and I don't recommend that with a X full choke. But remember, just because you can hit a duck at 50+ yards doesn't mean its ethical.
