Missed the reunion, saw them loads in the early seventies (before the Bowie rescue with Dudes) and they were always feckin great live. Did they do any of their older stuff, like off the first 3 or 4 elpees? They used to do a great Long Red, and I love their slow-burn stuff like No Wheels to Ride and Laugh at Me. In the very early 70's I was the original mixed up kid, and Mott were MY band! Isn't it great to see Phally again?
@bobgreen623 Hi Bob. Yes they did. They did Rock and roll queen, Keep a knocking and a great version of Death may be your santa claus. I believe they peaked during the Island years, (Guy Stevens influence?) Never quite had the same edge later on. My ist gig Malvern Winter Gardens Jan 72. Such sweet memories! .
@bobbyincle Yep, the Island years for me too, though they were still great after I loved being part of that bunch of fanatics who went to see them all over, even though I was only 15/16 and didn't stray too far from home. One memorable evening in Watford was unlikely pairing of Mott and the mighty Arthur Brown, also saw them at the Roundhouse as well as the Farx club in Potters Bar sometime in 71, still the greatest gig I ever went to.....
First record I ever bought was the live album down in northwest Fla...damn this brings back some memories. Still my favorite group after all these years.
the best footage i have ever seen of mott. i was at this show and it was fantastic to see how much the guys were enjoying themselves. This captures the atmosphere and interaction that exists in this band when they rock out. Long live Mott the Hoople
Can I just point out that I had NO PART in making this video. The Video was made by Tom (tcac30) and the Kudos should be his. I just happen to believe that this video sums up the event better than any other I've seen
Jimbo...the singer is 70 years old, the bass player 62 etc etc. Make me feel young lol. If they play again then I'll take you to see em. A real treat 1
36 years or not mate they are awsome and my dad said he grew up listening to these as his dad was a fan and he said they aint lost it at all, so count us in for the next gig :-)
If they dont come to Ireland - I think personally they all should be put to sleep by lethal injection !!!!!!!!!!! Meant of course in the nicest possible way !!!!!!
What a great clear video ! If you have anymore please post . I went Friday & Saturday and they were just fantastic both nights.Hunter is just the best.
Excellent video, pretty good sound.. hard to beat!

It's not so much their age. It's the fact they hadn't played together for 36 years until last week !!!!!!
