i played a d28 from 79 the other day it was the best acoustic ive ever heard the way the notes jumped off it was amazing..asking price of £1,900 wish i had the cash for it..
Cool.. Nice playing :) Was that REALLY the audio from that Mic though? Sounded like camera audio to me.. The D-18 is quite nice isn't it.. I've just got my hands on one (which was built in Sweden, VERY RARE!!)
I'm so keen to get it into the studio to see how it sounds in front of a sweet mic!!
@brizzyroz Very rare because no one wants one because its not made in PA. USA.. I'm not saying its not a nice guitar. It's just the way it is, and how people thinks.
@bluegrasssingingman - No, actually, it's very rare because Martin USA bought them out and took all the good wood back to the states and then the factory 'mysteriously' burnt down so production ceased..
My one sounds stunning in the studio, I've had a chance to record with it - definately a keeper!
@brizzyroz No actually it's worthless It wasn't made in PA. USA. Which mean you don't own a Martin D-18. You only own a copy. Its no different if you owned a Sigma.
Ahh, yea - it is, because it was built by Martin.. Is a Jap strat not a Strat because it was built in Japan? (Even though there are a number of them that are MUCH better than the Strats built in USA..)
Some people (like yourself) may not like the fact that 'BUILT ONLY IN THE USA' is 'tarnished' by Martin building some in Sweden, but the fact is - they did..
@brizzyroz Sigma is made by Martin Company to, but not made in the USA, Sigma is Karean. not Japan. If Martin's aren't Stamped Naz. PA. USA. There not considered real Martins. The value is very less, and no wheres the value of USA made.I didn't say it wasn't a good guitar. I didn't say it wasn't very rare. Even being very rare doesn't make it as valuable as if it was American made. As far as being better then A American built Martin. you are fool of DOG SHIT.
@brizzyroz What your saying in General That a China, Japan Violin, Fiddle Strat. Is as good or better then a German Strat.Violin. They maybe as good,or some people may think so, but they will not hold there value Like a German violin. Resale on a German made violin doubles and triples in value. A American made Martin doubles and triples its value with age. It maybe 1 of 200 and Martin name ,but it wasn't made by American people and wasn't stamped Made in Naz. PA. USA.
What exactly are you doing with those two chords during the first half of the video? I'm so close to replicating, but can't quite figure out the notes within the chords.

@bluegrasssingingman - Before you start calling someone Dog Shit, learn to put a fricken legible sentence together!
They may not be considered real Martin's by YOU - but you are not Martin & Co - who DO in fact consider these real Martins.

I own a "78" D-18. Great guitar! Your recording sounds so much like my guitar. You must have pretty decent recording equipment. Thanks for posting.
