@emorazorblade666 Umm.. that glass is pretty thick.. They would not set up a tank to hold a few million gallons of water if it would crack that easily...
@kaorca At Pt. Defiance Zoo, years ago, the polar bears promptly broke the inches thick "break-proof" glass on one viewing window of their pool upon introduction to their new enclosure and pool. Oops!
@kaorca You know what maybe they tell you not to touch the glass for the safety of the animals. did you ever think of that? If your phone had gone off or vibrated the sound would have been amplified through the water and belugas are meant to hear underwater anyway so it literally would have sounded like someone holding a blow horn up to their ears. So how about next time you visit an aquarium you have some respect for the rules and these anilmals that probably won't be around soon. Thanks.
@crlghnchls You really love to assume don't you? Who says its a real phone? Or that it even works? (That particular day it wasnt by the way) So from what you are saying, assuming the phone WAS working, a phone ringing or vibrating, is worse than kids running around, screaming all day long? How about that whistle trainers use? Or the tapping both visitors & trainers sometime use to get the animals' attention? Or at other places where they have shows, the loud music.. thats all ok though right?
Seriosly I have watched this video so many times and I'll probably be on my computer for the next few days watching this video lol. It is like the cutest thing in the world!
@SirenaSwimwear Um, no they are not.. Obviously they would not being doing this if it hurt them so much. Their head, or melon, is just fat and blubber. It's really squishy.
@SirenaSwimwear It's not hurting them -_- If they didn't want to be messed with they wouldn't go interact!!! They are VERY social animals and love to play with things there kind of like a baby in a sense because that phone was probably something they've never seen before. They don't even bang into the glass -_-
@SirenaSwimwear They're not hurt. Belugas are (like FutureOrkidTrainer says) very curious animals. Plus they're not aggressive. They're low on the food chain where they live and if something enters their habitat that they're not sure about they're more likely to swim away. Their checking the phone out by opening their mouths, since they have no hands. This is completely normal exploration behavior for belugas.
lol Cetaceans getting a kick out of a random object stuck to the glass, and anti-caps think they have the intelligence to kill themself and mourn for freedom.. haha...okkk......
Not "beluga" (Beluga is a fish relative to sturgeons) but "belukha" (a mammal).
