  • Cars could end up in your living room

  • wow. I would not want to live in that neighborhood with children. Maybe you can try dressing as a cop and pointing a hair dryer at the cars. It might look like a speed gun. ... I don't know =-/

  • Very good video. All politicians want to do is to make money. They don't care about people once they are voted in. They are all liars. What will it take? A fatal accident? A car crashing thru a home? This will eventually happen. Will it take a fatality to finally change the street? Also, if you think this is bad, this is paradise compared to the criminal driving in Miami Florida!

  • Go buy a few regulation size stop signs and install them yourself, if the city really does suck they wont even notice or care.

  • Good video but you went about getting your problem fixed the wrong way. Get yourself down to your LOCAL police precinct or sheriff's station, ask to speak to the officer in charge of traffic enforcement or better still the officer in charge of the motor unit. Quietly tell him/her about your problems, show him/ her this video. Don't bitch about nothing being done, just ask if there is anything your LOCAL law enforcement can do to help. If you do this & you will be surprised at what happens.

  • @Roiitokoloshe Oh, I already did that, the local police have seen the video and they don't seem to care. I have officially asked for a "speed trap" or monitoring system on my street and they have not obliged. I was told that they can't afford to have someone sit here and watch traffic. I told them it would just take 10 minutes any weekday between 5 and 6. Again, no help.

  • @Roiitokoloshe we had the same problem but cops here in camden nj never did anything so we went and pour brunt motor oil and watch them crash that fixed the problems now everyone knows about the street and slows down

  • We have the same issue in my neighborhood. We've had numerous accidents and there have been six pedestrians hit in the ten years I've been here, one of which paralyzed the victim. The city has told me NO speed humps or stop signs will be "wasted" on our street. I took over Neighborhood Watch in 2004, bought a radar unit and have been instrumental in lowering the number of speeders. I've also learned to utilize the online complaint forms from the city police dept. website. Maybe give that a try.

  • @kiakeiene Good for you! I'd love to know the specifics of what you do and about the online complaint forms.

  • Since this is almost 3 years old... what ever happened?

  • @senamar They put the speed bumps in which did nothing...the cars fly right over them. Then they did put in one extra stop sign which helped a little bit, but at the far end of the street. I've asked the police to come check this out several times and they've just ignored me.

  • :( Sorry to hear about the lack of results.

  • @senamar We still have the problem. And now, they just did a "slurry seal" over all our streets and obliterated all the markings, including the speed hump markings, and cars are flying down the street even faster and hitting the speed bumps at top speed. It shakes our whole house.

  • lol its so true that sadly it is women drivers and on their cellphones. TEXTING WHLE DRIVING EQUALS STUPIDITY!!! heard about blootooth??? GET ONE PPL! keep up the good work buddy!

  • If you don't like it than move.

  • @iantmckee What an ignorant and childish thing to say. Why would I be forced to move from my beautiful home? Just so people are allowed to break the law?

    What are you, 12?

  • @july1962 what are you 70? only an old man would bitch that much about speeders.

  • @iantmckee Only a fricking moron would say something like that. You have no idea what it's like to live here. We have no sidewalks in our neighborhood and people walking their animals, people with children are all forced to walk in the street with the speeders!. Get a life moron and stop ridiculing people and things you know nothing about. You probably are a speeder yourself and won't care about such grown-up issues until you kill someone.

  • Comment removed

  • @iantmckee youre a dickhead, i wouldnt want these assholes speeding past my house either.....some of us have kids and like the piece and quiet........"what are you 70?" stupid fucker!

  • @hissingfetus Amen!!

  • @iantmckee i hope when you have kids they are killed by a speeding drunk driver!

  • Go behind the city paint the humps yellow. When they stick out, it will make people unfamiliar with the area slow down, especially those with nicer cars like the Austin and Benz. People in my dads neighborhood are taking illegal methods to slow down the speeders, there they've thrown large sticks in the road (some logs). plz dont do that though I nearly ruined my stang on a log.

  • this video may not stop me from speeding but i will think about this video when driving on "side" rodes and slow down because when i turn onto my long street with no sidewalks i only drive about 15mph because i know theyre children around

  • typical old man who has nothing fuckin better to do with his time. take up a hobby or summin m fuck

  • You know altering a video to make things move faster doesn't really get your city to do anything. That whole video was sped up. If you listen to the sounds of the motors, especially at the end of the your filming (5min) you can hear the sounds of motors and tires once. Both of which are not normal. Good try though.

  • LOL...you're right, the video is sped up to condense the amount of watching time. The point of the video was to also show the NUMBER OF CARS that use our street as a cut-through instead of the major streets nearby. It would be impossible to show the speed of a car on a video like this. All the city has to do, is put a speed test on the street to prove that what I say is true. What you say is totally irrelevant since you don't live here and know nothing about it.

  • what a snitch

how many ppl have been hit or injured for you to go and tatl tale and dont make up a number.

    tatll tale

  • So are you saying that someone has to be hit or injured before safety precautions are put in place?! Good lord, how immature.

  • As I recall, a good game of football or kick ball slowed trafiic down when I was a kid. Maybe try to roll a rubber kick ball in the intersecection, but waiting for government to solve the problem...well good luck

  • all they need is speed camera's ppl h8 them.

  • The speed limit is not 15 mph unless posted on a white sign. The speed sign warning of the speed humps is yellow. Yellow signs indicate advisory or suggested speeds, not speed limits. Speed limits in residential neighborhoods in this state are 25 mph unless otherwise posted.

  • use a spike strip. good luck. hope u dont have kids playing in ur front yard.

  • LOL Im going to terrorize your neighborhood with an 08 STI.

  • To be honest, your complaints seem somewhat petty since most of the vehicles shown in the video are not going all that fast. This may explain why media & city officials have not responded as you might expect. You must also remember the roads belong to all, not just those living in a particular neighborhood. Thus, the needs of all, not just your own, must be considered. You're well aware of the situation, so just be careful on those roads.

  • LOL, what an ignorant thing to say! Why would I say they were going fast if they weren't and bother video taping them?! The speed limit here is 15 mph. If you can't tell that most of them are going way faster than that, then there's no point continuing with you.

  • july1962 > "what an ignorant thing to say"

And why is that? I don't know what the speed limit is on those streets (your video only mentions a 15mph speed limit over speed bumps), so simply commented the vehicles don't appear to be going all that fast. Most appear to be going roughly 30-40mph, which is consistent with speed limits on most residential streets throughout the country. - stewartx5 (commenting using wife's account since you blocked me from responding)

  • I don't know of ANY residential neighborhoods, especially ones with no sidewalks where people have to walk in the streets, where the speed limit would be 30-40 mph! Residential speeds always fall in the 15-25 mph range. Just because they don't "appear" to be going fast does not meant they aren't. What purpose would I have to lie about this? Oh, I think I'll go out and tape some slow moving cars, post it on YouTube and lie and say their speeding. Good god man....grow up.

  • Where I agree that people are going to fast through your neighbourhood, and the speed humps are not doing much good, a yellow speed sign with a 15 MPH limit on it, is a only a suggestion of the speed you should go over the humps and is not the posted speed limit. Good luck in your fight in getting people to slow down.

  • Instead of simply complaining to the city, and sending them video you should have sent it to the local news media.

Usually the media will play the footage and do some local news story on it. In the end that district's officials get embarrassed into doing something.

  • I did...I received no reply from the news media.

  • Leave LA, and move to an Island in the middle of an osean

  • Just so LA can abuse its citizens by not enforcing the law in our neighborhoods? I hardly think so.

  • wow if i was one of those people driving and you yelled at me for speeding i would go into your driveway smoke my tires up back out of your driveway rev the piss out of my car give you the bird and drive happily to were i have to go, fucking neigbors u old fucks piss me off

  • wow you're the typical bitching neighbor... those cars werent even going that fast..and maybe its time for suburban kids to learn how to survive.. //

  • a move to the middle of the mountains might help u... not on a corner... if i drove past you i would have redlined my moter so it popped n barked at ur faget ass... throw some drywall screws in the street u lil girl.

  • get a life your just like my gay boyloving neighbor

  • Like you haven't been guilty of speeding in your life. We all are guilty of speeding, get a hobby.

  • i would love to drive across your lawn

  • hahahahahahaa Amen bro.

  • fuck u ass hole get a real fucking job u white piece of shit obama

  • oh cry more you old fart

  • my subie could get some sick air over one of those humps

  • uhm you sent them that sped up video?

  • uhm, no, I sped it up for youtube, they got the normal one.

  • I agree with you. I mean, this is supposed to be a neighborhood, not a freeway! Why isn't the city of LA doing anything about it? You did your best in monitoring these type of activities in your neighborhood. I wish you luck and offer you my support for traffic safety. Did you contact the police department about having them monitor the illegal speed activities, so they can give speeders their speeding tickets?

  • Im highly agree that our goverment is going to come to a screw up i mean look at our candiates out of those three that is the best we could do i mean this is rediculous that our goverment just acts if they dont care and what really pises me off is why do police men get to do illegal u turns on a 4 lane highway on 341 and speed faster than us if they are going to go to a call turn on your lights but this is just my opinion and i think our goverment needs to step it up now before our gov screws up

  • i like stuart5150's answer to this problem haha

  • you should set a .50 cal up in the front lawn and gun down all the idiots on their cell phones. I am surprised they have not brought one of those speed monitoring billboard/ trailers. I have a novel idea for thinning out traffic. Make the drivers license test harder. 90 percent of the people on our roads do not belong there. I have same problem where I live. I call my street the armenian dragstrip that's how bad it is where i am in North Hollywood.

  • I accidentally thumbs downed your comment I just wanted to set the bar straight that was supposed to be a thumbs UP srry:(

  • Keep on fighting, Eric. Just don't be an asshole about it. More power to you!

  • I have the same problem in my neighborhood where people cut through here; at excessive speeds to avoid a busy intersection nearby. Except at my corner, there is a 4-way stop. However,no one stops. There are speed bumps going N-S, but none going E-W. And you hear cars bottoming out on the speed bumps. There are quite a few kids in our neighborhood including mine. I think this is made worse by one major road from the intersection being cut down from 4 to 2 lanes going north into Michigan.

  • Proper thing to do would be to put up some street lights, stop signs, sidewalks, etc

  • The speeding isn't a problem, it's the damn stop sign running.

  • ide speed threw it 2 aha u faggits who cares if som1 speeds get on wit ur life

  • I wish we could lend you the police on motorcyle who sits across from my apartment and nabs a car every 10 minutes, usually 3-4 days a week.

  • wow thats crazy, its like a highway in a neighboorhood my god

  • Here is what you need to do to stop these assholes. When there is no cars coming, get a wide enough spike strip, lay it out in front of the bump..or hump as they call it..and wiat till the next car comes. When they come upto it they will hit it without slowing down(unless they spot it) and theyre tires will litterally explode. that I guarentee you will stop speeding in your neighborhood.

  • shame on you, jack weiss. shame on you and your momma..the least that could have been done was the addition of traffic lights or even yellow blinking warning lights & red blinking stop lights..we had a bad intersection &traffic light installation began almost immediately

  • lay a couply nails or screws around the road during peak or something...

  • Got christ that is very dangerous. I wouldnt in a billion years even think of riding my bike through there, I would be killed in a heartbeat knowing them assholes.

  • Just call the LAPD traffic division in your area and talk to a supervisor, they would be more than happy to step up the traffic enforcement in your neighborhood.

Also, a speed hump is far more expensive than a sign, I dont know why they wouldn't just put up more signs. I would talk to your local city council person. But it is the dysfunctional city of LA so that explains a lot.

  • Oh, that's hysterically funny! Don't think that my neighborhood hasn't hounded the LAPD with calls on this issue. They won't do a thing. I requested a speed trap just to log how fast they go on this street, and they wouldn't even do that! They've seen the video and do nothing.

  • Thats the problem. They apparently dont give 2 shits about people speeding in neighborhoods. Maybe it will take a kid geeting killed to change there minds perhaps.

  • why the hell don't they put in stop lights? dude find your local political rep and beat the shit out of him.

  • We can't even get them to put in a stop sign let alone a stop light. We can't even get them to put in street lights for that matter. On top of speeding, our streets are pitch black at night!

  • hahahaha

  • yeah well that was my brother the jalbitre3 and yes if your caring for your disabled sister and there is a risk of people getting hurt, It is a problem and good luck with that but you dont exactly live in the most cooperative city.

  • It was just a joke man. But, seriously it does look like a problem that needs resolved. Good luck with that.

  • I know it was....sorry, I should have acknowledged that. Just a very serious subject for us. Thanks for commenting!

  • Oh c'mon why dont you just get a car and race them? It'll be fun! :)

  • Hey, if we had sidewalks like normal neighborhoods where we could walk safely through our streets, I wouldn't care so much. I care for my disabled sister 24/7 and it's not safe for her to even go for walks on these streets because we have to walk right with the cars. There's a bar up the street and the drunks come barelling through our neighborhood and could easily kill a pedestrian.

  • Why dont you move then.

  • why should he move?

  • I should move just so people can break the law?!

  • Easy solution. Walk on the grass. Either that or risk being hit by a speeding car. Your choice.

  • There isn't always grass. Many of the homes have fences, shrubs or flower beds all the way down to the street.

  • I see what your saying but to tell you the truth out of all that time it looked like you were the only person out of your house and not in a car, show proof or people walking down your street with the cars passing or you yourself walk down with your video camera and see if the car's respond to your presence.

  • What does seeing people out have anytthing to do with the huge amount of cars illegally speeding through our neighborhood? First of all, it was early in the morning. Second, I wasn't standing out there all that long. People did pass by, just not right at the exact moment of me video taping. Are you saying that the cars can speed as long as no people are in sight?
