  • We had one when I was growing up. The radiator was too small and kept overheating. The electrical system overloaded sometimes, too. But that ship could definitely ride the road!

  • I had a 3 C-bodies in my time: a 67 Plymouth Sport Fury III Fasttop 2dr 440-hp, a 74 Chrysler New Yorker 2-dr 440, and a 72 Newport 4-dr 400.

My Fury in particular was amazing: handled very well for a big car and stopped on a dime; and all these cars were a dream on the highway.

Forgive the comparison, but the only later model car that comes a distant second to the C-body in room / looks / power / handling / resale value is the Chevy 1996 Impala SS (last year for the full-size car).

  • What a Beautiful Polara!! Cant help to comment on the music, coz one of the few things I regret after buying my 70' Chrysler 300, is all the annoying 50'ies Rock n Roll I get to hear at car shows. Why the f*ck do the arrangers allways think ppl LOVE 50'ies Rock, just because they own a real car... originating from over 5 decades.. At some shows, they even play that shit during judging, and parading.. WTF. How about some V8 SOUND instead.. Johnny get lost ! Save the C-Body's !! MOOOPAR !

  • @Chryslerdude it can get tiresome, yea. There's at least one cruise in town here that has been blasting "My Boy Lollipop" so bloody loud for 25 years I'm surprised nobody's um...said something.

  • @Chryslerdude Agreed especially when not everything is from the 50s like that kick ass machine! Break out some funk and soul, motown, and classic rock to go with the cars of the other eras!

  • @Chryslerdude Ya, how come they don't play play heavy 70s rock?? Zeppelin, Sabbath, Deep Purple 'Highway Star'...c'mon!!', and ooooh Sir Lord Baltimore's 'Master Heartache'.. I would b in heaven if they played that at a car show!

  • They were really rare. I THINK that there were only In the neighbourhood of 1300 of the 2 doors ever built. My grandfather had a '67 but traded it in for a yellow '72 on the condition that the dealer sold my father a dark green one that he had on the lot too. When he died, we ended up with both in the driveway. They were both sold in '82 and I've only seen about a half dozen since. I would love to buy one.

  • i had a light blue 72 Polara in 1979 bought it from my dad it was in great shape i tinted the windows put in a killer stereo and i was the shit with that car wish i still had it now that i know more about cars i drove it into the ground

  • They must be rare. I've never seen one in the UK .I've seen a couple of 71's before in the UK, but not this type.

Its kinda ugly, but thats what makes it beautiful.

    I love em.

  • To my taste it's less attractive than the 70-71 models but it's still a fine sea body!

  • I love my '73 Monaco. Keep the C Bodies alive!

  • I had a blue 1972 Dodge Polara just like this back in the 1980's- I wish I still had it.

  • '72 Polaras are awesome. Unique grille for that year.

    Wish I could find one..

  • My brother and I each ran a 1972 Dodge Polara in a demo derby. They ran great. Mine is still running.
