could you give us the instructions for how to make this? when i tried, i had to use some more cotton to guide the alcohol up to the washers and had to replace the cotton every time because the cotton burned. so how did you make yours?

Per cui la durata si aggira intorno ai 3 minuti.

Una volta riempita la boccetta di alcohol, le rondelle vanno scaldate (o meglio arroventate) con un accendino. Non appena il calore si tramette (attraverso il bulloncino) nella boccetta, l'acohol (riscaldato) comincerà ad evaporare fuoriuscendo dalla rondella zigrinata posta fra le due rondelle grandi. I vapori prendono fuoco e la fiamma si autosostiene.

No, Heat transfer, through the bolt.

The heat of the bolt moves in to the bottle and the alcohol evaporates.

Tanto è, che resiste.

Non immagini quanto sia duro e resistente al calore, il collo delle boccettine di vitamine. ;-)

Poi tieni presente che il calore della fiamma va ovviamente verso l'alto, mentre il calore trasmesso dalla rondella inferiore non va sul vetro, perchè separati di circa un millimetro. Il bullone interno è avvolto dall'ovatta. Quindi il vetro subisce solo un piccolo riscaldamento attraverso l'aria. Infatti diventa caldo ma non bollente o incandescente.

The group is so composed:

one bolt, 8 mm diam.,two flat washers(hole 10 mm)two toothed washers(hole 10 mm)one nut.

Assembling:on the bolt,must be inserted,one flat washer,the toothed washer,the flat washer,the toothed washer and the nut.The group is locked on the neck,with small piece of cotton.A flame heats the group at hi.temp and cause the leakage of steam through the space between the bolt (with a smaller diameter) and the two toothed washers.And here, ignites between the two flat washers.
