  • How come they sound so different? They are supposed to have the same circuit, right?

  • I wanna hear both at the same time. Sounds like it would be a cool mix of tones.

  • The original sounds fatter and fuller.

  • did they both use the same speakers and tubes? it could make a big difference..

  • That clone sounds like my practice solid state haha

  • the clone sounds to Fizzy - and not as quality - but still good. I like the original. Thanks for posting the side by side.

  • the ceriatone is lacking that "marshal" tone

  • Which do you think sounds better? It is hard to tell on my cheap speakers.

  • Ceriatone settings are different, turn down the treble and it sound like the original ;)

  • This Marshall is Point to Point? All Ceriatone have Point to Point circuits,I think it's a great amp too

  • great tone!!

  • Everything about the Marshall sounds sweeter....is the Marshall hand-wired? Good riff!

  • wow, the original sounds like heaven. The clone sounds like shit.

  • Compared to the Marshall, the Ceriatone sounds like absolute crap. Clean tones are thin and brittle, distorted sounds are nasal, closed, and fizzy. The Marshall sounds open, dynamic, and clear -- and fuller as a result. Marshall totally kills the Ceriatone in this demo.

  • Great demo!

    Thanks!

I think, you cannot go wrong with any of these guys. These are from the finest ones in the 18-20 watt combo range.

Though, I prefer Marshall after watching it.

(Well, ... I think, I am so much in the wrong with it.

There is no better or worse here, only some difference in subtle ways.)

  • the clone sounds better to my ears - but I think the position of the microphone might be having something to do with this. The original definitely doesn't sound as clear. I know how directional Marshalls are & I reckon the microphone is slightly off-axis the Marshall, but right in front of the clone... Or the clone just sounds better.

  • This amp is made for a gibson standard, not a strat, you would not beleive the difference.

  • the original by far... so much warmer

  • what's the song at 1.25?

if anyone knows, answer this pleaseeee

  • …it´s a song called “THAT WILL NEVER DO” performed by the Band “AUTHORITY” from Berlin, you can hear it on Myspace ... Mirko Galle...

  • the second sounds fizzy nd nasty

  • To me, both sound amazing...but I really do prefer the original.

  • the original sounds much smoother, but still clear.. the clone has that annoying "sizzling" kind of distortet highs.. maybe because of the speaker, since the original speaker is specially aged..

  • Clean i liked more the Marshall but the overdrive i like the Ceriatone, more bite.

  • There's one guy who likes teh Rawk.

Difficult to tell on a youtube clip, but to me it sounds like both have the same character and it's only a matter of rolling off some of the highs on the ceriatone to be inditinguishable on a blind listen.

  • der Marshall klingt besser!!!

  • @dyingforastrat

Wrong. The Ceriatone has got scooped mids in comparison with the Marshall, therefore the highs sound more trebly.

  • ohh man, the marshall sounds sooo much better!

the ceriatone is okey, but the marshall rocks more

  • The clone is definitly better than the original, i dunno how people are saying otherwise, probably just cause of the "Marshall" logo, thats how they sold their shitty MG series....

The clone is so much more raw and midrangy and defined, Crunch is awesome

the reissue marshall just sounds more muffled muddy even

  • Great video

What the riff from at 1:25, sounds famillar!

    Thanks!

  • Original sounds better without a question...

  • Hi!

    Did you use any pedals?

    Both sounds wonderfull.

    I prefer the original:)

I had one 74x, but it did'n soud as good as yours...

    So I traded it:((

  • There isn`t a pedal.

  • Hey! Nice vid. I was wondering if you used a overdrive pedal. I have a 1974x but don't get that drive with a strat, even with volume at 11.

Also the speakercab (the little cirkle thing in the middle of the speaker) tends to loosen when I play with a fairly loud volume. I had that probem since I bought the amp newly from a local dealer.

  • @misslollyphop he's probably getting that much drive because he's using a humbucker in the bridge position rather than a single coil pickup.

  • Is that a 62 reissue? I like its sound. Thanxs

  • yes, the Orig. is a reissue.

    Thanks !

  • the guitar is an American Vintage from 1982 modified with John Suhr PUs, SSV Humbucker at the bridge, V60´s in the middle and FL (Flecher-Landau) at the neck... fits perfect on that ;-), MG

  • How do you know that?

  • Chalk and Cheese.

    Original by a long way.

  • it sounds like the original one is warmer than the clone one but the clone one cut though the mix better than the original one. i am not sure if it is this is relevant but i think the amps get warmer by ages. so the original should be older than 30 years. that should be the reason why it has such a wonderful warm tone?

  • woops i meant real m's :D :D You can cleary hear that new speaker is harsher and not smooth at all. Can you please do a demo of running the amps thru the same speaker?

    Thanks!!!

  • coming soon asap

  • Hurry up! (Liked the demo very much, but it has to be the same speaker! ) The Marshall is so great, have a Berger Clone, which seems to be TAD, would love to AB it to the real thing!

  • Dude you should totally use same speakers because those new Heritage that you have in The Ceriatone Clone are nothing like real H30s at all.

Make a demo thru same speakers and then compare.

  • Very cool, man, sounds great. Good playing. Glen
