  • i met mark miller once in a high school in Felicity Ohio when i was a teen-age. for a short guy he was a pretty good pt guard

  • I love this song ! I miss this group!

  • Did they sing it too? If so, he was just expecting a song and dance number. Not awkward.

  • At the time this wasn't 'Real Country' now we have Urban, Swift and Rucker, Nashville you killed country music.

  • my ex used to sing this song before he passed away. beautiful song!

  • good video but where is we did it for love

  • quinton smith and his wife

  • Beautiful song !! Gordon Lightfootish in sound as well as a touch of Kansas

  • Poetic word`s to a strained couple,so true for many,but not me.

  • My favorite song by Sawyer Brown. pretty and good words.

  • michael keaton with a mullet? Love this song though

  • I love this song the music the acoustics it makes it so freaking good.

  • This tells the story of my married life! :(

  • @1supercooldad1

Doesn't that pretty much go for all of us.

  • Michael Keaton.

  • All These Years and a Linkin Park song -What I've Done- along with Kansas's Dust in the Wind should tell us all how meaningless we are except for love 'n live.

To me, 3 of the greates songs ever written and recorded..........and in no case could anyone have done better than these originals.

  • How awkward for "the other man" in the room as that couple carries on their soul-searching conversation....in rhyme.

  • My first wife found out how much she had to lose after she cheated on me and left me. Guess what you heartless drugged out little whore. Guess I had the last laugh.

  • @MrAirborne75

Just asking based off your screen name, were you in the Rangers (I'm just assuming; airborne and 75th Ranger Regt.)

  • @fjd124 I was in the 82nd airborne. was never in the 75th. Have a ranger tab though

  • oh yes , lol

sorry the mind has already started to go

  • 5 dislikes............must be 5 of the most heartless cheaters going lol. Classic song, great group and top voice..........not so sure about the mullet though.

  • This song reminds me of my ex so much.

I was good and faithful to her.

Why do people have to cheat ?

  • When I first heard this I picked up my guitar and attempted to figure out the chord changes. It took me me awhile because this is not your typical 3 chord country song. I would even go so far as say it's not country at all. It's just a bittersweet, painfully beautiful song. The stringed instruments were subtle and not overpowering and the abscence of a steel guitar was a welcome change.

  • @benkit49 I'm still trying to learn it...

  • he looks better bald

  • very powerful song

  • @milder00 this song is very powerful

  • All These Years What have i done I've made your supper and your Daughter and your son I can finally see how much i stand to loose All These Tears Where have i been I've been down the road to work and home again But i'm still here and still confused And i can finally see how much i stand to loose ALL THESE Years
  • @Faithamberly Did you mean lose?

  • very powerful song, IMO i think this is probably the best song Sawyer Brown ever did. cant find country music of this caliber anymore i just whish the trash they try to pass off as country now adays was held to the same standards. then again george jones said it best with "whos gonna fill their shoes" aint an artist yet that has come that can do it, maybe a few but not many. thanks for sharing the video. brings back alot of memories.

  • i miss what music used to be... i wish it was like this again.

  • articulate that's moi

  • Beautiful arrangement ... violins instead of fiddles ... like how the songwriter shows both sides ... at first you want to blame her, then you don't ... sometimes life just happens.

  • @08shortstop gee i totally agree haphazardly lol

  • 6 thumbs need to be broken. lol

  • I saw these guys at the Colorado State Fair, actually got to sit up on the stage, not only was I elated of course but when he did this song it was amazing, so clear and you could see the feelings he had in the words of it. I definately think thjey were great and people need to listen to him, he's still got it. Amazing !!!

  • one of their most beautful songs and thanks for posting it

  • This is what song writing is all about, why I love country.

  • Been a fan since star search

  • great reminder of a better time, great voice

  • @chad7777777777 ...thanks so much for uploading this! =0)

  • He always reminded me of Michael Keaton

  • @allybaba28 UGH!!!!! I just said that not five minutes ago to my fiance!!!

  • Very powerful lyrics. If you're not moved by this song there is something wrong with you. I could connect with this song the first time I heard it because a similar situation happened to me.

  • I love this song........Its a man who who is humble to his circumstances, although painful they may be, he rises thru it and his wife learns and accepts his pain thru her own her experiences.

  • Man Mrbooboo197 nailed this one on the dot. When both people care so much for each other sometimes things can be taken for granted. Unfortunately in so many cases both people dont feel this way. But in alot of cases they do. I feel for those who have been wronged by an uncaring other who will give no forgiveness.

  • i love the song it reminds u that u love someone not to hurt them

  • This is my life right now

  • if you get the song.. and words to it.. she agrees in the end that she was wrong as well as him.. Maybe they Took the time to see what each other really meant ...?? and worked it out.. Great Song and Video. "It's Life..If you don't want terrible results in your own relationship..?? Try Harder. respect and love on another.

  • @Mrbooboo1972 YOU NAILED IT MAN

  • This is my life right down to the cup that says "Happy 10th anniversity". God why did I have to watch this :(

  • He sounds a lot like Gorgon Lightfoot. I miss songs like this.

  • luv this song thxs for posting

  • Mac Macnally is the the man!

  • thank you for putting this up one of my favorite songs by them

  • Thanks for putting this up.

  • Mac is a great song writer

  • Great song , written by Mac Mcnally if anyone cares.

  • I feel very moved by this, I think I even shed a tear... Not by the song, but by the sheer beauty of his mullet.

  • @bigdsears Thank you so much for the laugh

  • @rabbitsandkeys I think I saw the outline of a small (yet beautiful) Unicorn when his mullet hit the sun just right

  • @bigdsears HA!

  • @bigdsears thats all the hair he has left

  • @bigdsears hahahahahaha! :-D

  • @bigdsears Lol I was gonna say something similiar to that!! Too Funny!!

  • @bigdsears What happened to the mullet?? It needs to come back!

  • Im getting old now,I have been to work and back for over 30 years,All these years I have come to know that the only thing that stays the same is everything changes.

  • great music, I miss it

  • I miss true country....not so much for the pop country nowadays. Songs used to have meaning!

  • @beetlesmybaby so true, most new county is just bar and lifestyle music. Not to mention every supermodel that can carry a tune gets a record contract to sing country these days.

  • @beetlesmybaby Amen to that!

  • this is so soulful......

  • Mullet power!

  • we love you mommy!elias...gn dcedadAdAdAFDAF

  • to my beloved wife,Tabitha.sorry baby ill try better.when you didnt have to be you were here.steve

  • This song is great but I need to just listen to it and not watch him sing it... the whole business in the front party in the back mullet he's rockin is hard to take. haha

  • All those years...What did I do? Now they are gone.

  • Amazing song. Thanks for posting it.

  • women are skanks!

  • This is one of my all time favorite country songs, thanks for posting!

  • The empty old house, the detritus of a lost life, the empty tub, the dishes in the sink. Such powerful, wistful symbols, so delicately and subtly used.

  • Ever a better country ballad then I'd like hearing it.

  • great video and song sawyer brown has a way with words in music wish other artisits did so many dont put any feeling in their music anymore. thanks again for this upload!

  • This song has a lot of memories for me!! Alot of meaning in one song! Love it

  • i actually went through this with my ex wife caught her cheating every time i hear this song it makes me smile thinking that the guy in the song acted better than me

  • haunting...

  • 9/11 killed country music. Through the 80s and 90s, it developed musical complexity and lyrics worthy of the great poets, while maintaining its traditional emphasis on rich and/or distinctive voices and honesty. Then those attacks happened, and bang: right back to its trailer park roots. Skin-deep songs about drinking and soldiers and skankitude and Murka. Theres' still great stuff out there, but it's not the rule anymore.

  • @RobMacKendrick Country music was always about everything you mentioned that you hate. It's actually pop culture that ruined it.

  • Country music is not as good as it was back then. Sawyer Brown, Vince Gill, Collin Raye, John Anderson...these were artists that not only had the voice, but amazing lyrics. I miss the 90's.

  • @lemonyfresh26 Wow. I could NOT agree more. During my life this as been the country golden age.

  • lol@his mullet

  • i miss country music like this and the voices of the 90's that was truly great country music.

  • I MUST SAY THIS SONG IS SUCH A TOUCHING FEELING AND I MISS YOU SAWYER AND YOUR GENUINE LYRICS WHO EVER THE LITTLE LADY WAS THAT STOLE YOUR HEART IS SUCH A LUCKY GIRL I STILL LOVE YOUR MUSIC AND I MISS HEARING YOU , YOU WERE REALLY AWESOME I LOVE YOU AFTER ALL THESE YEARS LOVE AND MAY GOD ALWAYS WALK BESIDE YOU LOVE ROXY ANN IN VA, BEACH

  • Good video man, I've been looking for it for a while. Thanks buddy.

  • I did a cover of this song grew up playing it.

  • Doesnt the lead singer look like micheal keaton kind of? just thought i would throw that out there

  • @hagerman83 I was just thinking that too...lol

  • @hagerman83 I ALWAYS thought that!

  • You sound exactly like Gordon Lightfoot. Could listen for hours!

  • @abitibibob, I thought the same, too! Glad to know my ear hasn't gone to pot (like my hearing, ironically).

  • Wonderful song. Thanks for uploading it.

  • i love it!

  • all these years what have i done i made your daughter supper and your son let me see no he went bto work and you became a whore like my wife and my mother

  • I love the lyrics-She said you're not the man you used to be. He said neither is this guy.

  • Almost forgot about this song. Such a great song. Really like Sawyer Brown. Thanks for posting this song.

  • i love this song alot

  • i liked this song a lot more before i knew first hand what its about

  • @mrfern1977 same here. has a whole other meaning when you can relate to it and feel the lyrics.

  • @mrfern1977 its a song about change..regrets

  • @mrfern1977 How could you not know what it was about? The lyrics are pretty self-explanatory

  • @RedLego391 Honey, Mr. Fern said he liked this song a lot more before he experienced it in his own life. He always knew what the song was about, but I think he meant that after going thru it, it made the song have more meaning for him.

  • @LotzofLove4Chappy I didn't catch the 'first hand' part of his comment...

  • @mrfern1977 ya I know what you mean by that one...

  • @mrfern1977 Sorry you had to go through that... I've been there too. It's hard.

  • I googled Sawyer Brown and came across this song. Boy, I miss that group and Mark Miller. Wished the old "stars" would come back like, Shania Twain, John Berry, George Straight , Kentucky Headhunters, Dixie Chicks to name a few. I realize they still tour, but not so much in my area anymore. The 90's were the best for country music. Brings back good memories.

  • I AGREE......MUSIC IS MUSIC. ITS GOOD OR BAD. WHERE YOU WERE RAISED IS NOT WHAT IS IMPORTANT....HOW YOU WERE RAISED IS WHAT IS IMPORTANT....SKIN COLOR DOES NOT MAKE A PERSON. THE HEART IS SOUL MAKES THE PERSON!!!

  • love this song!! never seen the video. thanks!!

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever written and recorded, and likely no one could ever sing it as well.

  • They play a mix of songs on Sunday mornings on 92.5 WBEE from 5am-8am. Maybe they'll play it some time. They've played Roll on 18 wheeler and a few other oldies but goodies.

  • good song more of the world need 2 lisien to this maybe it would make a diffence

  • SB hit #3 in Billboard, 3-6-93. God bless ya, brother Mark Miller!

  • Hey guys.... I appreciate all the comments on the video and I have never deleted any comments, but I decided it was necessary to delete some recently. No need for racial slurs here, and I will continue to delete comments as necessary. Thanks for your understanding.

  • @chad7777777777 Peace and blessings to you young man.

  • @avengerspeel Thank you...and same to you!

  • @chad7777777777 No room for BS!!!

  • @chad7777777777 You do what you have to! It's your posting and your right. I abhor people who even consider turning anything and everything into something "racial"...after all, there is only ONE "race" on this planet, referring to people: HUMAN! Other than that, you have NASCAR, Indy, Baja, Ironman, Marathons, 5k, etc....smile!!

  • @chad7777777777 Thanks for the video Chad.. i dont know whats wrong with people today... Haters man. Sad Sad World. Thanks Again.

  • @chad7777777777 how someone could bring out race in this song,,, sad way the world is heading : (

  • @jeffburky8388 I know you hate me and won't allow this, but why the hell would anyone not be proud to be white? I'm not just asking you, I'm asking anyone. Is there anyone out there? Hello.

  • @avengerspeel We should all be proud of what race we are, whether is it white, black red or yellow.

  • @jeffburky8388 It ain't easy for anybody trying to walk the straight and narrow path to a decent life. Its so fucked up. It really is.

  • i can still remember this song came out the same week i lost my father when he passed away and my fiance in a car wreck. i swore i would never love again. but they say time heals all wounds. the hurt is still there but its mended a bit through time. i found love again and for 20 years now ive been with my wife and my three kids and one grandchild. but i still go home sometimes to spend a little time with them. write me anytime anybody maybe i can help with your healling. godbless.

  • @39tommyboy Its thanksgiving day morning and I just got off a gruelling double shift . Probably going to sleep most of this gloomy day away. Listening to this song reminds me of how I was cheated on by all 3 loves of my life. I'm such a chump. Oh well. Read your messages. Sorry for your losses...inspired by your blessings. You see a lot...shared a lot, and offered to help me with my healing. You already have.

  • @jl9701 Thanks. Country caught me by surprise. To me, R&B and Country are two sides of the same coin. They're from the same roots. Many of my friends shut out Country altogether, refusing to hear even one song. I tell them that they're missing out on the other half of Soul music. They have no idea.

  • The clothes and hair are pure early 90's which is when I got into country music. I really miss the older stuff.

  • @Cerridwen247 ya country just is not country no more its pop or something else i like some up beat new country songs but the slower sad or what ever its not country i dont feel it like i used to thats why i love the c d or mp3

  • @tylerredass I like some of the newer stuff too- like Brad Paisley (Alcohol, When I Get where I'm Going, Whiskey Lullaby, Online ect) and The Band Perry But I wish more stations would mix the old with the new instead of getting you sick of the new stuff. Shoot no one even wants to play 8th of November or If You're Reading this anymore here in NY

  • @Cerridwen247 Not on US99, here in Chicago, either. God bless!

  • Fear the mullet... Little is know of the mullet, it is a symbiotic being. The mullet benefits from its host as does the hosts benefit from the Mullet. The Mullet benefits by having its goal achieved, while the barer of the Mullet receives undo attention, and in some rare cases, such as with Sawyer, even fame. The Mullet is a living organism capable of intelligent thought and feelings and when provoked, The Mullet will attack. So, fear it my friends and give it respect

  • Wasted yrs,Leave the past in the past.

  • love it raw......

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!

  • i cant believe this song only has 235000 views. i figured there would be alot more.

  • @hagerman83 They need to re-release it. Almost nothing compares to this gem.

  • Thank God for Mac McAnally who writes these jewels!

  • @HulaGrlatHeart he's from the same county as me.i love all types of music but i have got to say he is the best song writer i have ever seen!!

  • @rivetgun2000 You got what I said. Its about the music. Country and R&B are both soul music, from the same roots; and pure American. I grew up poor, worked hard, helped raise my boy as best I could, served my country, and am now a middle aged blue collar worker who drinks too much . Am I so different because of this country's attitude on race? Maybe I'm insane, but when I hear 'Would These Arms Be in Your Way" by the late Mr. Whitley, I just don't see color; only magic and pure bliss.

  • My father used to play Sawyer Brown after I went to bed. This song reminds me of lying in bed trying to go to sleep. Of course, being a kid, I had no idea the song was about adultery and an unhappy marriage.

  • The station was WGAR Cleveland. The music was about life, real life. My cousin told me I should get back to my black roots and stop listening to "all that Redneck shit". I told him that Rednecks are pure American, I'm pure American and a vet; and country, as well as soul, is pure American, for ALL of us to enjoy the quality of. Made him listen to "That's My Job" by Conway Twitty and he broke down about his troubles with his own son . Only took 1 country song to open a heart. Powerful!

  • Color doesn't matter when it comes to music. Thats the great thing about music. everyone can enjoy it. my roots are planted firmly in country music and I couldn't think of a better way to grow up. Though now that I'm older, I do listen to other types of music but country is where it all began.

  • can you say goosebumps ?.. i mean really the lyrics are just simply crazy

  • Very pretty song.

  • My wife of 14 years and I are divorcing after all that time...lesson learned guys dont take each other for granted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • computer selected, since I watched "Whiskey Lullaby", I was directed here to this song, sounds like I will add this to my playlist.

  • this song is truly touching...having been thru a divorce...I understand the song in a whole different light now. Some of their other songs have really taken on more of a deeper meaning to me now...thumbs way up for Sawyer Brown...cannot imagine country music without them...

  • avengerspeel, your comments are on point. I'm 47 now and THOUGHT I'd been a fan of country since 90-91 when I really started adding to my music collection. It took about 3 months of listening to realize my country roots had been there since I was a kid. Today some of the most cherished music in my collection includes everyone from George Straight to Don Williams. I love it.

  • what the heck! He has hair??

  • i feel like i'm less of a man when i hear this song.... these words are so truthful and so important at the same time.... it's a blessing to my ears.

  • @DaSkarekrow

Did you feel like less of a Man before, or after you turned the lights off. You feel like a man when you work Eighty hrs a week. You feel like a man when you work your butt off to support your kids and wife, and they are your only meaning. They are what you live for. they are the reason you get up every day? I feel like a man when I listen to this song, not less. Does your wife feel like more of a women when she listens to this song? Does your wife like adventure?

  • That's a women for you. They can turn things off just as easy as a light switch. And then turn it right back on! Well within there best interests that is.

  • @14HCAT

boy ain't that the truth! they can justify anything
