Several countries that are primary exporters have reduced exports. Mexico and Russia are noteworthy, and Indonesia is dropping out of OPEC because they no longer export any.
wow....kris, that is such a hot video....I totally dig the "metallic" hues (copper and gold).
I hope all you hot chicks start making "Peak Oil" sexy, erotic, elegant....whatever it needs to be .... to sink into the fat, pathetic cranenia of the American Gas Hog Sheeple (dumbest farm animal that was ever cultivated by Madison Avenue.....if one don't know what I mean, then thou art one of 'em...LOL). Aloha, UnderseaCaveman
That's 85 million barrels from all sources (tar sands, natural gas liquids, etc.). Conventional oil peaked in 2005 according to Matt Simmons and has already declined 2 million barrels per day. Simmons doesn't think unconventional oil production will keep up with accelerating decline in conventional oil production, and neither does any other peaknik of course. Which is why peak oil is a problem.
Watching you is a lot easier than watching Matthew Simmons. Keep up the outstanding work.
Minor quibble: "and that number continues to rise" - which seems to apply to consumption - that has been true in the past, but according to Matthew Simmons and others, oil consumption may have peaked in 2006 at about 85 millions barrels and has been unable to rise since then. Demand of course continues to rise due to increasing world population and economic growth based on petroleum. When demand exceeds supply, price goes up. Peak oil is when demand comes permanently unhinged from supply.
One way to reinforce the narration would be to have the words scroll in text form as you speak them, perhaps in strategically placed bands to hide the naughty bits and keep the family audience rating. Anything with a Y chromosome will then watch the words.
By golly, My Xray vision works on Youtube? cool.

I think a sexy thumbnail and good tags is all you need to get a bunch of hits from the outside.
Athene is the king of using this technique.
