True story.... Paul Mac always straps a large dildo to his piano tool before performing this tune. Silverchair is still phenomenal, they just don't rock anymore... but I support them. All those launch concerts set up by Channel V are really small and controlled... It´s all about having another "V" moment for those guys... not having fun.
the new style of silver chair sounds so much better live than the studio album of young modern. their grunge side comes out when they play live, the studio album got a little soft for me. still a great band

Everything Silverchair has ever put out has been raw and full of passion, and that deserves at least a little respect. They never wrote a lyric to make a buck, they only ever wrote and played their hearts out because they loved it, and because they always had a powerful message to deliver.
Kudos. I have to agree. Silverchair is one of the few bands that truly explores music and artistry. Nickelback has written the same song for years, half their songs use the same key. Most hip hop is the same thing now too. It seems that American music is unique in its similarities. That's why I tend to listen to foreign music. It's new and fresh, even if some bands imitate American sound.
I was in high school when Silverchair first came out, and basically ripped off Nirvana. But I must say, Young Modern is the one of the best albums to come out since the new millenium. It's the best album Coldplay wished they'd made.

This is what I was hoping to see on Jay Leno tonight. It was heartbreaking to watch him lose his voice or break his vocal chords or whatever happened.

Consider his track record. After the post-Diorama reactive arthritis, maybe chronic laryngitis is an improvement? He's already recognised his habit of developing debilitating conditions after an album release, but he may not have fully shaken it yet.
yeah, that and anorexia after freakshow (but if fueled neon ballroom so it was good in the end...gave him more to write about). at least laryngitis was for just a few weeks. although when i saw them live (a few weeks after they canceled all the shows) he still sounded sick.

This is what I was hoping to see on Jay Leno tonight. It was heartbreaking to watch him lose his voice or break his vocal chords or whatever happened.

I was so stoked when Jay introduced Silverchair.... Then to hear Daniel implode like that, eeek! I hope he has his rest before next weeks show here in Seattle, i'll be sorely dissappointed if not.

He's had problems with his vocal chords from what I understand. I don't know if it was nerves tonight or what. It's been a while since they've been in the states.

Consider his track record. After the post-Diorama reactive arthritis, maybe chronic laryngitis is an improvement? He's already recognised his habit of developing debilitating conditions after an album release, but he may not have fully shaken it yet.

yeah, that and anorexia after freakshow (but if fueled neon ballroom so it was good in the end...gave him more to write about). at least laryngitis was for just a few weeks. although when i saw them live (a few weeks after they canceled all the shows) he still sounded sick.
