I got Summer Wars on DVD for Christmas because my friend thought that I'd seen it. I then proceeded to watch it and have my mind blown by the incredible plot, wonderful animation and such. I <3 Summer Wars!

@TheSorrel Well, in reality, solving(integer factorizing) a 2056 digit length security code over ONE night is just simply impossible for any man, machine, or anything existing on Earth right now.

Just to give a real life example, in 1977 "Scientific American" put out a problem. Find the integer factorization of a 129 digit number. it was solved in 1992 with 4 mathematicians and 600 volunteers. In 2009, 232 digit number (RSA-768) was solved using hundreds of computers over 2 YEARS!

@TodizzleMONKEY Yeah. but the director probably didn't know about it too much. He probably thought that if you're really really smart, you can solve such problems as the movie seems to suggest. In reality, there are physical limits. Even if you're a genius, you can't construct the Eiffel Tower in one day. What Kenji did was not something that you can do just cuz you were super super good in math.

@edwardrha Well, no shit. That's what makes it so damn entertaining. If you haven't seen them already, I suggest Hackers and Swordfish. They take something that again, of course is impossible, you don't even need to take an intro programming class to understand that, and turn it into something incredibly entertaining because of how ridiculous it is and how much they try and pull it off as fact. It's great stuff.

Loved the movie! I have it for Blue-Ray and I watched it every single day I was sick! I was sick for three whole days and the movie never got old. My favorite character had to be Kazuma/King Kazma! He was the most interesting character I've seen! =)

I just found out about "Summer Wars". I have yet to see the movie but judging from the score, it should be extraordinary. I'm probably expecting a lot of comments telling me to watch it already so I won't be surprised. I'll try to find it if I can.
