chinese are sick so expect no less. The nation that skins its animals alive, boils its animals and treats its on people like shit! pity the floods couldnt have hit them rather than the japanese. oh pity, with any luck theyll get whats coming to them!
Slow lorises are threatened by deforestation & the exotic pet trade, are hunted for their large eyes as local traditional medicine, turned into a wine said to alleviate pain, often eaten dried or smoked for food. They are listed as "Vulnerable" "Endangered" by the IUCN. An illegal pet in Japan and United States. Popularity due to YouTube videos showing them being tickled.
Google "slow loris + wiki". Read the wiki about them for yourselves...
zbiry i just watched like five videos of these animals you put negative comments toward other people on each one... Do you take pride in trying to be a youtube troll.. like many people have said they are proboably better of in homes with good owners opposed to in south asia in a stir-fry bowl.
As 'cute' as this is, I hope you are aware that it is ILLEGAL to own these animals as pets in both the UK and US. They are an ENDANGERED species, and buying them as pets encourages the illegal trade and breeding of them in poor conditions and the MIS-TREATMENT of them. Their teeth are also pulled out when they are sold as pets. Althoug legal in China and Russia to own these poor animals, it most definately SHOULD NOT BE.
Why do the Slow Loris belong more in the wild than dogs and cats?
Dogs and Cats were wild animals once so who gets to say that THIS particular animal can't be bred into a pet if this doesn't hurt the wild population?
And it's not like Cats and dogs can't make it without us. If you leave a population of cats in the forrest it only takes a few generation to have them back to their wild self again and it is the same thing with dogs.
@Salladsdressing A cat left to it's own devices will go feral in a couple days to weeks not a few generations. Once it can get a few kills in, it is good to go.
Retarted comment, a wild cat learns it hunting skills from its mother, it also learns what critters to avoid, such as snakes and big spiders. A domesticated cat will never be able to pass on such knowledge to their youngs, since they never experienced themselves, and releasing a domesticated cat into the wild, will kill it in a short amount on time. If you don't know what you're talking about, please refrain from commenting and keep on supporting animal cruelty by watching thiscrap
@gegenhippies12 You know absolutely nothing about the natual world fo you might as well shut the fuck up and crawl back into your hole. The domestic cat is the most efficient hunting animal on this planet with the exception of the persian as it's skull shape prevents an efficient kill bite. I've knon cats hand raised from a week old with a doll bottle as the teet grow up and catch and eat squirles, rabbits, small carp from a stream, and one time a small eastern diamond back.
@gegenhippies12 It's human family did not teach it how to hunt or what to hunt. In fact it was three years old before it was allowed out of the house. This was pure natural instinct. BTW quit bring the fucking hypocrit.
On the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species all 5 species of Slow Loris are listed as vulnerable or endangered. All populations are listed as decreasing.
These animals are harvested from the wild to become pets, their habitat is shrinking and once captured a third of infant loris' die in transit from a lack of maternal care. The population of the Javan Slow Loris has halved in just 20 years primarily due to the pet trade.
The desire to own these animals is driving them towards extinction.
Isn't it better for them to survive as pets then to not survive at all? If their habitat is declining then captivity may be the only choice for their survival.
The fact of the matter is, no one is going to stop offing their environment. Developing countries aren't going to give a shit about endangered species. Their only chance at surviving IS becoming a domesticated pet animal.
I don't see you freaking out because the wild cattle are extinct.
It's people like this that fuck up and endanger one species at a time, for their own pleasure.
It is pitiful to see a rare wild animal being treated like a domestic pet simply for some ones idle amusement. The slow loris is a highly endangered, nocturnal primate living in the treetops of the tropical rainforest. To see one living in such an alien environment with no regard for its natural needs, purely for human entertainment, is downright cruel.
People like this and people ruining the habitat are completely different. This is someone with a pet, not someone running around in the forest chopping trees down. Animals like this probably should remain in the wild, but now it may only be the "pets" that will be left over to work the population with.
hey my friend... I agree with you and also disagree, now I know these creatures are hunted by witch doctors, so to say these creatures are endangered because of people like this is not true... what about the Hamsters... they no longer exist in the wild... the slow loris could become like the hamster a thriving species that has been 'domesticated'... so.. don't waste your time on youtube.. go become a conservationist and do something about it... if you feel that passionate... God bless you
restricted, i understand your point about wild animals being placed into captivity being wrong, however you must also understand that a comment on youtube is surely not going to change much. If you want to end the problem; you must defeat it at its source.
that's true, but look at it this way. The slow loris is nearly extinct and one of the best ways to keep them from being extinct is to breed them in captivity, while we who care enough to try and do something about the atrocities committed against these animals (one atrocity is shown in this very user's other videos of the loris, the sick fuck. the person who owns this "pkhkpk" account is a disgusting person, who thinks it's ok to force our pollution into an innocent, terrified animal's lungs)
What the fuck is wrong with the people telling others to release it in the wild. That thing is cute and tiny which is EXACTLY why it was getting killed off in the wild. Do you honestly expect the Loris to survive going against a fox or anything else? No....so fuck off PETA dicksuckers.
It's interesting to think that maybe this animal is becoming extinct because it fails at surviving? It's dying off because of the fact that other stronger species came along and killed them off; or that they just can't survive. 'On the Origin of Species' by Charles Darwin, anyone?
It would also be interesting to see the average age and IQ of all these people who come on and post about how everyone who has different ideals is an asshole. I'm talking mainly about these "save the forest" types.
I somehow doubt you've read any of Darwin's work. Nor do you understand what you are saying right now. Tell me more about these "save the forest" types. God forbid, a person show concern for something other than themselves.
there is nothing wrong with people caring about animals, nature, and the environment. that is good, we need those people in order to have a shot at preserving nature. 2Banano is not saying that those people are not needed or that it is not good of them to care about nature. 2Banano is saying that so many of these "save the forest" types do not want to hear anyone elses opinion. so many of these people on this video are shooting down any opinion that is shared and just thnk they're 100% right
I lol at all the hypocritical and judgemental assholes commenting. These things are endangered because their habitat is dissapearing. You are most likely commenting on this video from your home. Of which parts most likely came from resources gathered from this creatures habitat.
I guess it's easy to condemn over the internet. I just hope none of you are actually taking yourselves seriously.
and also it has been PROVEN that a slow loris even in a very dedicated zoo dies early in habitat, so if experts cant even give it its full life what makes you think you can take care of it in a cage?
exactly.
so just enjoy videos and leave the wild animal be.
Really, then why is it that slow lorises live about twice the expected wild lifespan when they are in captivity. They have been known to live anywhere from 20-26 years in captivity, as opposed to about 11 in the wild.
Ok reading through the comments ther seems to be a bit of a debate going one.. but.. Id say yeah! Pets.. Their Probably the cutest lil creatures on the planet!
What would be the diffrence from having one of them to having a cat, dog, rodent, bird, reptile.. w/e
yes we all have fun tieing theplanet down on a table and take it roughly...(btw that was sarcasm)
another thing is that please peope just stop being so judgmental on youtube comment forums which is ofcourse the worlds most respected and honoured debating competition, upsi no ist not, its a couple of geasers that are pissed of by everything giving crap to other people who either didnt think anything badly over their comments or are just plain stupid. so overall, use reasonable arguments
it seems from a bit of research that its not the poachers but the rainforests being destroyed, that causes the depletion in these creatures. Some people have them as pets and some go to zoos and the majority dies or is poached. I for would say give them a house or a zoo because they cant go back to a rainforest that isnt there.
I agree with you. The rainforests in which these amazing creatures live are being destroyed at a sickening rate everyday to make room for the growing human population. Where are these little guys supposed to go when their part of the forest is torn down? Hmm? On the streets? Or to someone who is going to take care of it and feed it and give it a home?
I don't believe you should take these animals out of the wild, but when the wild is taken out of these animals...there's nothing you can do.

But we wont buy them or keep them as pets and those people who do already i would advise to place them in their habitat or to at least a zoo or something.
There are 5 species of slow loris. They are all heavily threatened. This is a result of their high demand in the pet trade (THIS), traditional medicines and habitat destruction. Keeping slow lorises as pets supports their illegal capture from the wild, its against the law, is cruel and ultimately is leading to their extinction. If you saw how these animals are captured, you wouldnt think it were cute. Please leave them where they belong.
@lorises80 Why don't people then just start breeding these animals? This way the illegal demand will decrease (so less animals will be treated badly) and more people gonna be able to get one legally as pets.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
well surely is more people brought them as pets then we would breed them and there would be thousands and then they wouldnt be so rare?
and why is it ok to keep a rabbit locked in a hutch but not one of.. what ever the hell that is!
that animal isnt pissed off its locked up, that requiers thought and it doesnt have thought, its a bag of instinctive reactions. it cant plan ahead or think back to when it was wild. it can only react to the situation at that precise moment based on its instincts
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Doooh... I think she's just being silly willy. By the way, i just wanna say is that i think all people have the rights to keep any animals as pet as long as they take really good care of it! :)
No because a lot of the time the animals will KILL THEMSELVES! They rather DIE than be kept as idiots pets! Im not trying to be awful i just care about the animals
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
You have a point but if you think about it all animals were once wild. And I think the best way to learn how to take care of them is by actually taking care of them.
just because the animal is a pet doesnt mean it is domesticated. it is still a wild animal. it takes thousands of years to domesticate an animal. even your average budgerigar (or parakeet) is considered "wild."
This iss sso disgusting keeping them as pets, you have just helped animal cruelty by getting one. Please read this link and stop supporting cruel animal trade. They pull out their teeth in shops to make people think they are babies and they cut their hands when they are in cages. They belong in high trees out in nature. google slow loris and get your own info, they are endangered.
Are you seriously that unintelligent? Animals that are endangered are NOT being helped by being kept in captivity. It's not "peta loving" it's common sense.
I knew a Slow Dolores once. Not much of a looker, but such a sweetheart.
besides, you're all so uncouth. they prefer the term Velocity-Challenged Loris. or Turtle-Rats.

well surely is more people brought them as pets then we would breed them and there would be thousands and then they wouldnt be so rare?
and why is it ok to keep a rabbit locked in a hutch but not one of.. what ever the hell that is!
that animal isnt pissed off its locked up, that requiers thought and it doesnt have thought, its a bag of instinctive reactions. it cant plan ahead or think back to when it was wild. it can only react to the situation at that precise moment based on its instincts

i think his point is that... if people stop buying these guys as pets, they wont be poached as pets.
they're cute as hell but i think if they are meant to be pets then i say we all get better info on how to take care of them.

Wrong. It does not take thousands of years.

This iss sso disgusting keeping them as pets, you have just helped animal cruelty by getting one. Please read this link and stop supporting cruel animal trade. They pull out their teeth in shops to make people think they are babies and they cut their hands when they are in cages. They belong in high trees out in nature. google slow loris and get your own info, they are endangered.

go fuck some more animals you PETA cunt at least its in a loving home where it gets fed and NOT getting its teeth pulled out
FranksDead 3 years ago
Are you seriously that unintelligent? Animals that are endangered are NOT being helped by being kept in captivity. It's not "peta loving" it's common sense.
