Y'know, there really are pink dolphins. They live in the amazon. when they are born they are greyish/white, but as they mature they turn pink. they are scary looking.

There are pink dolphins located in the ocean surrounding Hong Kong, I'm not sure how far they range. I went on a "Pink Dolphin Tour" while in Hong Kong visiting family. They are pink due to certain minerals and other substances in the water. The older they get the brighter pink they are due to longer exposure to the water.

@MsThrax No, no Photoshop here, amazingly. The specific dolphins are actually fresh water dolphins, they feed on shrimp(mainly), crawfish and fish in the rivers and lakes of the Amazon rain forest which causes their skin the have a pinkish hue.

Ok, first, pink dolphins are freshwater dolphins I believe, and they ARE pink..in the Amazon River. Second, I'm sure IN THE OCEAN there have been albino (which are WHITE) dolphins, and perhaps they could appear pinkish in certain light/circumstances. Besides, I would not call albinoism rare or a defect, really. Mutation maybe..defect? No. Female OR male, Pink River Dolphins are PINK.

Lol. This is an amazonian dolphin only found in the Amazon river. It's a freshwater dolphin. The pink dolphin in the picture is actually the male. These dolphins are mating, and part of their "mating ritual" involves the male becoming excited, turning bright pink, to attract the female while also giving off oodles of pheromones. @bubbylovesbubby but this one wasn't from the amazon. this dolphin shares Bottle Nosed Dolphin features. a normal pink river dolphin has a hump near its head, while this one does not. also the type of dolphin your talking about is found in the amazon river in south america, while in this video, you can see that its in open water. also the dolphin behind it was a normal bottle nosed dolphin, which live off the coast of the north america and other places.

If it's pink with red eyes, its albino. If its pink with black eyes, then it's an indian or pacific humpback dolphin, or an amazon river dolphin. They are pink [except albino ones] because of the capiliaries that are very close to the surface of the skin, thus turning their skin pink.
