  • You are awesome!

  • I have a question! Theres a song by SNSD, called Hoot, or 훗. Now I know the first consonant is the H consonant. But the one beneath it looks like a J consonant. So i'm confused. How does that say hoot? o.o

  • @NateRivers731 It is not a J. It is a mixture of a OO vowel and S consonant.

  • @matthoenn Oh, that makes a little more sense. ^^ Thanks. :D But wouldn't that be 'hoos' instead of 'hoot'? o.O sorry for asking so many questions.

  • @nikkixisxhere Is not fighting is just my point of view.

  • 안녕히세요

really great lesson it help me to remember vowels ...thanks

  • Visited the website. i cant find the worksheet :(

  • @edmaaya you have to go on the website then you go to Shows and when you go to lessen 2 over the videois written worksheet ;)

  • @Kpoplove1998 Nope, nothing..

  • I was wondering, does Korean have an equivalent of English's upper and lower case letters? or does it just have the one alphabet without things like capitals?

  • No, it doesn`t have upper or lower case letters. :) @Squishfie

  • @Squishfie - No from what I've learned, Hangul doesnt have an upper and lower case.

  • u r english is amezinggggggggg

  • im learning korean because of the k-drama and shinee of course! im asian and i dont get why people are saying learn korean only if u r interested in tht language or whatever. i like to do what i want :)

  • @vercikovnik But your not famous, you have nothing to do with Korea, you don't need to go to Korea, in conclusion don't put your self into others that learn English because they need it. Famous people learn it because of people like you that don't like their own dramas and music that much and they can make more money for them. That's something I like about Americans :) more money for Korea!

  • I hit my knee on the table right when she started the pop quiz in the vowels. My answers were very loud and full of anguish, but confident, and they matched how I was feeling. :P

  • Annyong, Teacher you're a genius, a blessing, a treasure for anybody who wants to learn Korean. You make it so easy. God i can write all I want to say. For now THANKS a lot.

  • @ripxmyxheart Why would i try to learn japanese if i know it? Im japanese/korean and the (SP)anime(1) stands for something. S-seoul P-productions anime-animations 1-it's for the Koreans and japanese people working like one group, it's Referring to my job, see you don't even know what you say.

  • @SPanime1 lets not fight. learning is never a bad thing

  • Hello Professor Oh. I clicked on the link for the worksheet and it took me to your website. I couldn't find any worksheets on the site... Please help. Thanks!

  • @TheEiwolf just type in "alphabet" on the search bar, it should show you the list of classes. Class two should have two worksheet links on the top.

  • @coloursupply Thanks!

  • you are geniuuuuuusssss!!!

  • Let's make peace and face it, all of the following things are just beautiful and cute and lovely:

    - K-language (in sound and writing)

    - K-dramas

    - K-actors

    - K-pop and non-pop

    - K-food

    - and this K-teacher too...

and we love to learn and know everything (= culture) korean!

  • Ah, this is very helpful! I want to become a translator, and my friend is fluent in speaking Korean so she suggested I learn it...she gave me the link to this.

  • @JustDreamingLife lol okay calm down, I'm on your side, I was acknowledging that for many people there is more to learning a language then just music, dramas, etc. I clearly stated that I respect all peoples reasons and I even said I like kpop and kdramas myself. I think the person you should be stating this to is the other guy, SPanime1. I'm not sure if you are arguing against me or not but if so please reread my previous comments. If not that's very good and I wish you luck in Korean! ;)

  • TO EVERYONE HAVING TROUBLE FINDING THE WORKSHEET :

    1. click her link

    2. Go to top menu and click on shows, choose Learn Korean with Professor Oh

    3. Scrolls down to Lesson 2: Write the Korean alphabet

    4. Click page 1 or page 2.

and there you have it ;)

  • i cannot find the worksheet

  • Oh and to anyone who read my comment below, if you like kpop/kdramas and are learning for those reasons, I'm not bashing you, I think we all have our own reasons for learning a language and I respect that. I was just simply sharing my idea that there are other good reasons for learning Korean (that may not necessarily be the same as my own) so please I hope no one takes offense to it and I wish you all luck on your Korean language studies as well! :]

  • @justastarrynight Well, but falling in love with the language thanks to k-pop isn't that bad at all! I know it has to be more than that obviously, but as a start, just to get closer to korean culture in general I think is more than ok. I study languages, I speak english, italian, french and spanish but I'm learning korean and portoguese just because I enjoy it!!!

  • @SPanime1 I agree. I'll admit that I like kpop/kdramas, but those are minor reasons. I understand that people want to understand the kpop/dramas but I agree that it's bad when that's their limit. I think people should consider other things as well, I'm learning because I love the culture, I made lots of Korean friends in college so I'd like to use it with them, and I hope to travel and see Korea myself one day. Plus, how many non Koreans can say they know the language? That's impressive.

  • I can't find the worksheet.

  • If you're having trouble finding the worksheets I hope this helps. Go to her website, look under Shows(it'll be a dropdown), find the link to this video and underneath the title is "Worksheets Page 1, Page 2" Click those and save them as pictures. Then find the documents and print them out. :)

  • @tRolliN88 OMG... thank you so much !!! c:

  • @FashionistoIRE Oh Jesús crist!! I wonder how many idiots would come saying the same crap, you guys cant read or what? I say FREE FUCKING OPINION!! Did I say don't learn Korean? For people like you, others that rely want to learn Korean for a reall reason look bad. Before you learn my language, learn your first and read what I say in the first place!

  • @SPanime1 No need to curse and if anyone is being ignorant it's you. You say you're giving an opinion, well so am I so I don't see why you are getting so upset.

You didn't say "don't learn Korean" but I found your comment to be offputting, especially to people who have looked this video up to learn. It doesn't matter why anyone wants to learn a new language, it's a personal preference and a wonderful thing to know. People should learn because they have their own reasons.

  • @FashionistoIRE yeah right...?! well as you can see im not the only one that think the way and another korean girl just agree with me in this video. Its not just her or me, a lot of my friends say the same thing, I dont know where you live but you should concentrate in your own country more and take another language from others with more respect. You dont know anything about us or our culture, you're going to embarrass korea and us for your "personal reasons".

  • @SPanime1 Well then I think it's odd you're friends think that. Why on earth does it harm or upset you if somebody learns a new language that happens to be Korean? I think it's wonderful that people even show interest in it and it saddens me that people like you only want to bring people down for trying to further an interest.

You learned English then? Do you know the culture behind it and if so please tell me.

  • @SPanime1 The even sadder fact is you're not even Korean but Spanish in some way, perhaps South America considering K-Pop is big enough there for you to get into Korean manga etc. Yet you also claim to be from Japan on your channel yet write your video descriptions in Spanish and also the playlist on your top comment is in Spanish which means your Youtube is in Spanish.

So please stop trolling, it's actually embarrassing.

  • @FashionistoIRE Im korean/japanese, I know 7 language spanish is one of them, just because you dont know any other thing more then whats in your small world, it doesnt mean everybody is like you.

If you see i speak english and it doesnt make me american, French, english, spanish, russian & chinese, i speak all of those after japanese and korean obviously and i haven't see most of those places. compare to you, Im someone who takes languages serious. are you really that ignorant?!

  • My printer wasn't working so I wrote out the chart so I had to write out the chart

  • where can I get the worksheet ??

  • im too dumb to find the worksheet on the link -_-

  • @cheyZAHH I can't find it either...lol

  • @cheyZAHH

can't find it either, so I write my own worksheet ^^

  • Hello Professor Oh! I just want to ask, why is the consonant "G" you wrote it with two straight lines but in your example "geometric" in 00:50 , the "G" is written with one line on top and a little curve on the side? which is better?

  • love to be able to watch a korean film without subtitles for oncen..all my fav films are korean

  • Out of all honesty I want to learn Korean because of it's music, I'm not going to try and hide it. But I think that learning more about Korea's culture will give me a better reason to learn Korean. To the library!

  • to the people who wants to learn korean or are learning korean: just like a free opinion or like an advise, don't learn korean bcause you like to watch korean dramas, bcause you think all korean guy or girls are like those dramas. Don't try to learn it bcause you are a k-pop fan and you are in love with artist like Hyun joong or lee min ho and the most important dont learn it because you like asians.Learn about our culture bcause you like our history & traditions, that should be the real reason.

  • @SPanime1 Hmm..U Made Me Change My Mind .. But Iam Learning It Cuz I Really Like Korean Language and Korean People and The K-Pop (Shinee,Taemin)

And I Decided to Go To Department of Korean Language I Think Its Good To Learn it

and The K-pop Who made Me To Decide For That ..

    So Is That Bad?

  • @Esharenger later on if you like j-pop are you going to learn japanese? most people learn it bcause of k-pop or the k-dramas.

When i began to learn english, it wasn't bcause i like green day or bcause america have good movies, I learn it for the history & discoveries. NASA, the first man that went to the moon, economy, all those things were the reason of why a lot of people like me wanted to learn english. I honestly don't think you have a good reason or a good point.

  • @SPanime1 That's not a bad reason to learn a new language. If you have the time and dedication, it's an added benefit and skill you have in the world. It's a good thing k-pop and k-dramas are bringing more awareness and interest to the rest of the world about korean culture. I like learning new languages because it's fun and interesting to me. I decided on Korean as my next language because I watch alot of kdramas. I don't see nething wrong w/ that.

  • @ilikemonkeys100 i understand, but just think about. if you really like korea or what you really like its the korean tv and music?. kdramas are fake & i know that you know that, dramas dont show our culture like it really is. Asian are not 100% like the ones in the dramas, its all fake just like in america Superman is fake, in here goo joon pyo is also fake. i cant make you change your mind bcause its normal that you dont see it bad or wrong you will always support your point.

  • @SPanime1 I didn't say I like Korea, I hate Korea. The ONLY thing I like about Koreans are K-dramas. That's it. just kidding.lol. I know what you mean, I got interested in korea through dramas though, they made me want to know more about a country that I previously knew nothing about. So even though I know they're fake, I'm thankful for discovering them. I'm not planning on learning korean, going to korea and try to marry an kdrama acto/character, I just want to be able to watch w/o subtitles.

  • @ilikemonkeys100 and learn more about the country along the way. I don't know why you want to tell people why they should and shouldn't learn a language.

  • @ilikemonkeys100 well again, Im not trying to make people change their mind or tell them what to do, after all it their time the one that its gonna be loosing on learning something bcause they watch a lot of tv. when they can be learning the things that they really need to. i just hope that if they start something, stay with it to the end, everybody say that they want to learn korean and only 1% of them get to learn it, the rest will find something more "interesting".

  • @SPanime1 Hey now, no need for the backhanded comment and smarminess. I guess I’m just not as “intellectual” as your highness. Dear me, I’ll get back to my dramas, I’ll let you get back to your anime. :p

  • @ilikemonkeys100 yeah maybe but no one said i was smart right?intellectual? you found something so basic been smart & intellectual? then you should reed & study more my friend.

I dont know america, but in here anime and manga are things for entrainment & it doesnt really matter how old you are, you see how you dont know anything about korea. By the way why do you change the topic so bad? we are talking about korean language & you come out with anime. it dosent make sense.

  • @SPanime1 I was referring to your pretentious comments earlier. They give me the impression that you think you're better/smarter than me because I like dramas and am learning Korean because of them. I brought up your like for anime because it's similar to my like for dramas, it's for entertainment so stop trying to act all high and mighty. Please keep up. Yeah, maybe I should "reed" more. lol

  • @ilikemonkeys100 You dont get such and easy point & you say some dumb things that makes me feel like im talking to a retarded 15 year old kid, its just sad. Well do as you like & good luck. 행운을 빌어요!

  • @SPanime1 Don't get pissy because you can't understand me to the point that I have to explain my comment to you. Just because you don't like what I have to say doesn't mean it's dumb. Reading your bad grammar makes me feel like I'm talking to a retarded 15 year old.Yeah, I will do as I like, good luck to you too

  • @SPanime1 How silly, I think it's great that anyone feel the need or want to learn another language regardless of the reasoning.

  • @FashionistoIRE by the way before you start saying anything about any misspelling, in case that you dont know it in korea are computers only write in korean and i have to use a virtual keyboard. dont start so dumb others, trying to look smart but at the end their are a bunch of ignorants.

  • @SPanime1 Your right, but one of my friends is australian and she wanted to learn korean because she loves kpop and thats how the foreigners or the non koreans first start of(by wanting to learn because of kpop or kdramas),but when she got really into it and started practicing, she learnt about our culture and tradition and she says its as good as kpop, and as interesting. So they might start of wanting to learn it by kpop, but if they are comitted, they will love our culture and traditions.

  • @Mrssoneelf yeah, like you say She got into it, which means she learn more about our culture then just learning about super junior or Boys before flowers. those are the people that im talking about, the ones that really want to learn about korea and everything that korea have, but a lot of people just want to learn it because they like korean tv shows and singers, or because they dont want to read the subtitles.

  • @SPanime1

    Yeah, most people are like that which makes me sad );

  • @Mrssoneelf i know and sometimes it makes me mad :( are you Korean too?

  • @SPanime1

    yes i am korean (;

  • @SPanime1 this made me look down on myself. my reason for learning korean is so that i can understand what they are saying. i feel like im not a good enough fan if i am not able to understand what they (artist,singers...) are saying.

  • @TakayamaPaLmEroIntaL believe me korea have a lot of history, things from 100 years ago still living today, ask your self if you want to learn it because of one simple thing that people will forget about when something new come out (kpop & kdrama) just want you to think about that ;) read all the other comment you will see that 99% of the people are learning it just because of kpop/kdramas, thats very sad. :/

  • @SPanime1 I like(d) Chinese music and T-Dramas and I realised I like the sound of Mandarin. After a half year studying it I don't have any regrets. Learning more languages can never be a bad thing. Even though the motivation doesn't seem 'right', I believe every motivation that makes you want to learn a language is good enough. I think that after you studied it for a while and you still want to go on, that's the most important thing, not the beginning motive.Hope you understand this in some way.

  • @SPanime1 i'm sorry but in all honesty.. i would not be interested in Korean language or its culture if not for Korean variety shows, Kpop and most importantly because of So Nyuh Shi Dae. The means of transportation is not important as long as we get there.. that's my personal opinion.

  • @trendsonic77 agree.

  • @SPanime1 "Be interested in this instead of this, or you're doing it wrong"

Your logic is terrible. I think it's all okay AS LONG AS the interests they have is not a temporary fad, or something of that sort.

    gg no re

  • @Aythreuk you are the only one that dont understand my "logic" you want me to explain it to you with pictures and toys?

  • @SPanime1 I'm a little embaressed but okay, yes please.

Maybe you could upload your own video?

  • @SPanime1 I agree with you. I like Kpop and Kdramas, but I have developed a love for the Korean culture because of my Korean friends from school. I'd like to better communicate with them, and that is the main reason why I'm learning Korean. :)

  • @WelcometomyUtube WOOT!

    Thank you for this statement.

As a language lover, I want to learn Asiatic languages.

    Hate** history though. :)

  • @xXxDeadlyRavenxXx lol no problem, being a language lover is awesome.. And I can totally relate to hating history, not bc I don't like it but I'm really no good at it haha!

  • @SPanime1

I got your point, but anyway do you mean that when some famous Korean people speak english he learn about US history?? I cannot imagine some english man would say "at first learn something about OUR history and then try learn english. Anyway I started learn korean because I found how interesting it's history, culture and life-style are from all those k-dramas because probably I would never find anything about Korea another way..SO YES, THANKS TO K-DRAMAS WE ARE HERE!

  • @SPanime1 It's not that I disagree with you, but I certaintly don't agree with you. As a part Korean, part Japanese and part European, I can identify with many cultures. I am always flattered when someone says to me, "I want to learn Japanese/Korean/English/Portugese." It makes me feel like they are important cultures, and I am important, so it is a good thing when people want to learn our wonderful languages. The more people that speak a countrys language, the better the economy...

  • lol still learning witout the sheet

  • POP QUIZ ..... *got nervous*

  • Wow.. Never knew this could be soo exciting and thank you for the worksheet..

  • 지지

  • I printed out the worksheets and completed them, but I must tell you, my Korean handwriting is nasty..

  • Oops I accidentally flagged as inappropriate thnx for the lesson

  • I just wanted to say thank you for these lessons. They are easy to follow and very entertaining. I memorized the consonants in an hour! The only thing i am having a tad bit of issue with is the vowels...and the dipthongs. Anyway thanks alot because my school doesn't offer Korean and I really wanted to learn. I can now also make out the sounds of the korean words in my favorite drama's and variety shows!

  • @Cayeycrew your from P.R.? me too :) by any chance do you know someone who can teach me korean or a school somewhere in P.R. tthat teaches korean if you do could you please tell me?oh im from Cayey to I thought I was the only one that wanted to learn korean here thanks :)

  • i understand now!!!!!!!!!

  • What does Yah, yoh and Yuh mean? I mean what vowels they are? :(

  • So why there is "a" always after consonant? Does for example "s" need an "a" always after it?

  • You make it's fun and very easy to follow. This is really helping me a lot. Thanks :)

  • @witchgirl2795

kpop are spreading the korean culture couse when u love someone

u want to know more about him/her including their lifestyle and

their country's culture :) .. I love ss501 and i want to know more about them

so am here learning korean couse am interested in their country :) ..

in the end we all love korea :3 .. right ?

  • This is helping me so much. ;u; Thank you!

  • I dont think it matters why you learn korean it just matters that your trying to learn it :D

  • its so annoying that people are saying they want to learn korean because of kpop....people dont learn and go to korea because of kpop.. learn/go because of the culture -.-

  • @witchgirl2795 Mm, I see where you're coming from but... that's lousy -_- No offence. I like Kpop, so because I can't always rely on people subbing things I want, or there is no sub for the thing I want, I want to learn Korean so I know what they're saying. People who learn Korean might not ever want to go to Korea, but simply earn the language because their idols are of that ethnicy. Like me~ But then again, EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN REASON FOR LEARNING THINGS, RIGHT? ^ ^

  • @witchgirl2795 KPOP is the one of the most important parts of korean culture.

  • sooooo most of ppl learn korean because of kpop

  • I just got a one year scholarship to south korea.. This lessons are very helpful.. i am really struggling to learn this language as much as I can

  • OMG. so hard to learn:(

ive got to learn korean man.

    WHY?

BECAUSE OF KPOP! SNSD! Taeyeon <3

  • Just right amount of time to do them 10 times while you're explaining.

  • Thanks for making this video!!! It helps so much.!!!! I'm doing this for suju!!!

  • @strawberri5Daisy i know right :O

  • So... wheres the Korean Comic Sans?

  • thank you, great lessons, i speak spanish, but your lessons are easy

  • Very, Very Good! kam.san.ni.da ;-))

  • @edterra it's kam.sa.ham.ni.da

  • Cutie! thanks for making more how-to-hangul videos....for a long time, i only had the first video to go by

  • I hope you can see this comment. I have a question. How are you suppose to study using the worksheet? i know it sounds stupid but i would really like to learn this properly. Do you just write the hangul straight through like 가 | Gah | 가/가/가/가 or am i suppose to cover the 가 | Gah | then right it? i'm sorry i'm an idiot with this x.x

  • the vowels are to difficult to me >_< .. hehe, i preffer consonants XD

  • awww i cant get the paper how can i get the paper

  • So once we learn this, we just have to build up our vocab by listening to a word and writing them out from these vowels and consonants ?

  • OMG!!!!!!!

I love and adore your lessons, it has helped me a lot!!!!

I love the videos and the worsheets, it's amazing!!!

    Thank You so much!!!!!

    Kamsahamnida!! ♥

  • so..." annyeong " is for "hi" AND "hello",right? e_e'

    Well,thanks professor Oh! :D

    Great job! \o/

  • I love you SweetAndTasty! Really, you bring great interest in me to how to Korean. Promise, I'll use it someday, because I'm going to Korea for a missionary work. See you someday. You're great! Keep up the good work and God bless you!

  • you've got a magic finger

  • the INTRO reminds me of KEVUMBA!! :D
