  • Oscar Peterson was unequivocally a genius. I'm trying to transcibe this song right now and it makes me appreciate it just that much more.

...and it's absolutely sickening to me what people call "music" nowadays and the talentless low lives that desecrate the radio. most people don't have the cognitive complexity to comprehend this so they can't appreciate its brilliance. sad days we live in.

  • Pure genius

  • wuahh, no words, gorgeous!

  • I own this DVD... it is spectacular... I recommend checking it out.

  • A transcription of this performance is available via jazznote.co.uk

  • The lick at the begging of 1:24 is so piercing! I love it!

  • @MumbledFusion I like it too (repeated 9th)

  • Best jazz pianist ever. Better than Tatum, but that's probably only because jazz has evolved so much since the Tatum's era.

  • @McGuywer well they were of different eras and actually Tatum used theory that was so ahead of is time that jazz musicians only really discovered it an odd 20 or so years after but i agree with you, Oscar Peterson in my opinion better to my ears but in fact Jazz Theory hasn't really evolved since Tatum's use of it

  • @McGuywer I believe that as well, oscar came along and create a different structure!

  • *-*

  • Unico....el mejor

  • Fantastic ♫♫♫♫♫
