  • I've got guitar picks the same color as my carpet and as i get older it gets harder to find them when they inevitably fall. I need new carpet because picks are more crucial than carpet.

  • Jim Croce with his friend Maury muehleisen made music that no other two men could make, with the excellent acoustic guitars, Jims voice and maurys harmony they left us a wealth of musical gold! September 20, 1973 its truly the day the music died in natchitoches la! They will always be my favorites! God bless their families!

  • Thanks jimmy :}

  • I sent this song to my Boss!!! He didn`t get it....

  • r.i.p. maury and jim

  • jim croce and his friend maury muehleisen...as seen in this video were both killed in the plane crash on sept.30 1973

  • Good memories from winston-Salem, Reynolda Gardens..kay&donnie;-)

  • Jim was the coolest guy around. He really seemed to have fun onstage. Wish I could have seen him live but I was born five years after he died. Great mix of fun and sentimental songs.

  • @earl77 I agree! We miss him, too! wish he was here today. Oh well...

  • This is the first video I've seen where Maury actually gets into his singing! He's usually very wooden but here he smiles and gets down a bit. A truly great partnership that ended much to soon.

  • only the good die young

  • i work at the car wash and the job is the shit, seriously.

  • People like Jim Croce honestly have me even more anxious for the resurrection of the body(ies)...RIP Jim

  • nice

  • love jim, all these guys gotta fly commercial, lose em in tiny plane crashes. '59 '74 who could ask for more?

  • I've grown up listening to Jim Croce and he is one of the few artists I NEVER get tired of listening to. I had his music on 8 tracks that were my dad's. I've had his music on LP's, cassettes and CD's. I have wondered many a time how popular he'd be if we were still alive. The guy could tell a story in the form of a song and had a voice to do it well.

  • The guitar player is staring at Jim like he's in love with him.

  • A man of my ability should be smokin on a big cigar!!!

  • WHOAH !

This is one of my favorite JC songs. He was such a great story teller. We sure could use him now. I just love that "hey now mama, come on over here". I have never seen this live version. I love it.

    THANKS FOR POSTING.

  • I forgot how much I like Jim's music. Thanks for posting this.

  • maxstratos, why did you disable embedding? It's a great link and nothing is lost with a slightly smaller presentation.

  • The cover of this song by the twin sisters is pretty good. It's second from the bottom on the right.

  • @ChicagoSouthDan Well, now it's moved up, but it's still on the right.

  • I was in Germany when I heard of his death in that plane crash. I cried - It was such a loss.

  • In my opinion ; Jim Croce Was an still is a ; "Story Teller", a voice that helps ;those that knew him those that didn't are better for having listened to his palate.Jim Croce was one of the most prolific ; story tellers ;of our time; God Rest His Tired Soul ; for what a story he told; but cut short by time ;he left for us an Time". Robert D Ellis JR.

  • I remember the year they died. When it was announced, I listened with disbelief and a deep sense of how unfair it was, Time for growing up. A star fell from the sky. I will always love Jim Croce and Maury. Always.

  • damn i thank you for uploading these songs,,,,,,,, im a big big fan,,, thanks again

  • Jim is my favorite singer!!! His songs are the best cause of the beautiful sounds and life lessons.

.......... he kinda reminds me super mario :D

  • what a genius.... musica tan bonita... nada que ver con el mugrero que se escucha hoy en dia.... jim ur the best

  • Dude, I had that a lp! He was sooo fresh and genuinely talented, an acoustic guitar and a mike, that's all he needed. A great big Thanks goes out to you and your wonderful work! Thank you!!!

  • Like??? LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man, he was king in the seventies! What a sad, and early end for a wonderful Musician. His Music Lives On!!! Hope he's making music in Heaven, and I hope to see him there!

  • Just fabulous! Croce has never been given the plaudits he deserves.

  • god damn this is just what I needed to hear what a great artist I am blessed to hear a genius like this man

  • "hey now mama come on over here" LOL. Miss ya Jim.

  • One cool dude.

  • Was his whole band killed?

  • @MrJMD37 -- Jim and Maury were the 'whole band'. Two guys, two guitars, and a world of talent. They died in the same plane crash.

  • RIP jim.Welove and missyou

  • Pure 100% awesome.

  • A CLASSIC LIVES ON!

  • Jim really had the most

    beautiful eyes

  • i loved jims moustache!! Espically how it turns up on the ends!

  • I know, you'll never see another mustache like that in Pop Music ever again.

  • woooooooohoooooooooooooo

  • I believe the word is "Butstead"

"Butstead I'm stuck here rubbin' these fenders with a rag

And walking home in soggy ole shoes"

    Butstead.

  • yeah its a compound work... kinda.

its "But Inestead' just shortened I guess.

    mixed into one word; "Butstead"

  • Just found Jim Croce and love his music! Btw, does anybody know what mics are were used here? You see them very often in the 70's... Thanks!

  • The Greatest Song!!!!!!

    Is that an Ovation guitar?

  • @ttyoakum

Both Jim and Maury featured Ovation Celebrity model 6 strings.

  • when he passed we lostg a jewel

  • thank you so much for posting this...Croce is still the best singer song writer ever...if you need a pick me up or self loathing. Thanks

  • @coulterkj I thumbed you up...tho I personally believe David Bowie wins the best writer award...Jim Croce is 000000000000.000000000001 behind him..Good Gravy! HOW IS MISS YOU JIM..RIP..REALLY, REALLY, REALLY MISS YOU..

  • I guess I'll just have to wait

    Until I get myself straight.

    Beautiful.

  • i can almost play all of his songs, its a definet life goal

  • Amazing tune. Sums up my life lol!

  • The lyric is "workin' at this INDOOR Niagara Falls", not "this end of". Common misheard lyric.

  • Oh! this is a great song.

  • Man, I heard this song along time ago, my mom was a big croce fan, not me at the time, but i gotta say this song matches my situation perfectly lol.. except now a days we don't wear rubber suits at the car wash...

  • this song speaks 4 it` self

  • it must have been a lot of fun for him travle the world somke a big joint and sing their music and get paied to be stoned And doing what he loved

  • Heard this on the radio the other day. Such a forgotten classic! I'm so glad you've posted this here for us fans. What a songwriter, singer and performer. A true, underrated and under appreciated talent who left us too soon. R.I.P., Jim!

  • Max-Man, I just want to thank you ever so much for posting these perfectly performed songs by Jim and Maury He was a the top of his game here. He did more things, went more places, met more people before he was thirty than many people do in theri entire life! How many singers do you know of today who are not ONLY college graduates, but also VETERANS? He was truly a "Man for all seasons". I don't think I've ever seen anyone more at ease or more at home on stage than him. Thank God for Jim Croce

  • "we got all it we can use". Love it.

  • I'm pretty sure he says "we got all that we can use"

Thanks for posting all these great performances by Jim and Maury. I don't think Jim was underrated or underappreciated at all. He just died way too soon!

  • That's just Jim"s "look"...Not STONED...just JIM...And he was da BEST!!!

  • His name is Maury Muehleisen, and he died with croce in the plane crash

  • who is the other guitar player/singer? he 's so good, every songwriter should have somebody like that next to his side

  • just wanted to thank maxstratos , my personal favorite , local singer here always dedicates it to me when I'm working the bar ;)

  • i have the same guitar ironically, and he died way too young, and was not afraid to be himself!

  • That wasn't just "the lead guitarist", but Jim's best friend Maury Muehleisen. What are you thinking!!

  • a lead guitarist plays lead, not rhythm. that was he is doing

  • oh i didn't see where you said "just"

yes, he is much more than a guitar player to Jim. And an accomplished musician in his own rite

  • Ah now I see - I was wondering how to understand that comment :D.

Well, we understand each other now.

  • The have you heard collection is terrific. These BBC releases so rich with clarity it's scary. Jim never looked so good on the tube. I wonder when Jim's widow was able to obtain them?

  • Yeap, the 'Have You Heard-Jim Croce Live' is a great collection. In this channel you can find first-time released and originally re-mastered (improved) versions of the DVD videos, which I created using specialized video processing & editing. It takes many hours of processing for each one.

  • @NYVoice

Jim's widow got everything. I thought that was the point of his death?

  • She fought for royalties from Jim's records which Jim himself never saw. Contractually Ingrid could have lost; but Jim was selling records off the shelf coast to coast and had very little to show for it. Tommy West and Terry Cashman ran Blendingwell Music, the publishing company in charge of Jim's songs. Like most singer songwriters at that time, Jim signed away the rights to his songs for a percentage of the profits on his records. He made more $ driving a truck. Ingrid did the right thing.

  • @NYVoice

    Thanks ingrid.

  • top upload

  • Great song!
